I said I'd do it, so here it is.
I've gotten tired of spending my time on the forums being angry at people or posting one-liners.
So how about some healthier discussion instead? I don't bite. Much.

No! Even if I did have a sizable hoard, it's not like I'd just give it away.
But that's work, and one arrow versus a bunch of monsters...
I don't know if you've been asked this before, I'm sorry if it was but
If Drakon could change his elements to things such as shock, fire and freeze would that get him in a better/more favorite position against the other sprites?
Bonus question, How would you feel about fighting a aquatic dragon as a miniboss/regular boss if it was somehow added in game?
I feel like it's a fun thing to mess with.
I don't always want to listen to one thing, though, so I usually take 15 seconds to open something up in Youtube instead.
Making Knights play a Wario "BUUAHHHH" death sound, and making Vanaduke sound like Captain Falcon... now THAT's something.
________________
Drakon with different statuses would be pretty neat. Shock Drakon would have a MUCH better Explosive Firestorm, since it'd pin anything that walks through. Freeze Drakon would probably be even worse, assuming the statuses still remained chance-based.
Assuming statuses ended up being 100% for every one of his abilities, I'd say it'd be Shock > Freeze > Fire. Utility will always be more useful than raw damage until Sprites start dealing more reasonable amounts, if ever, because you usually have enough power with your own weapons.
An aquatic dragon would be awesome! It'd be a neat way to re-introduce the Megalodon gear.
Explosive thunderstorm. I'd definitely be all over drakon with elemental shock orbs too <3
What's your opinion on trinkets? Do you think they're worth the time and effort?
I feel really bad whenever I have to shell out some energy to pay for the slots... but I need sword ASI. It makes every attack so much more fluid. Rocket Hammer can go anywhere from "clunky" to "most fun sword in the game" depending on how much ASI I'm taking.
Bomb CTR is extremely important regardless of opinion, and having enough lets you do silly things like chain vortexes or stun-lock Greavers.
Usually I've got one quick-strike and one bomb focus, because I either play with a sword, gun, and bomb, or a sword and two bombs.
Trinkets are worth it for sure, unless you only play once a week or something.
Am I a bad person for wanting to change someone else's SK hit sound to a 10 hour version of Nyan Cat?
You should just delete all the sound files instead. That'd REALLY mess with them.
Then send them a link to a really loud video as they try to fix what you've done.
Just... don't break anything.
Replace every single slashing, explosion, shooting, etc. with a falcon punch sound.
Replace every single song in the game with Mute City.
Replace any leftover files with "Show ya moves!"
Would you be happy if the Dragon Scale set receive the ability to increase the chances of causing special conditions?
I'm not sure I like the idea of gimping your own power for better rewards. I'd much rather see the difficulty settings do something other than inflate or deflate enemy stats.
Then again, the whole Tier system is already a difficulty system. Still..
I don't think that's what Dragon Scale needs. Personally, I'd drop the Beast damage bonus, the Poison defense, add half a full bar of Normal, and make it do something funky like giving you complete fire resistance, boosting your stats when you're on fire and preventing it from hurting you. Gear needs to be more interesting like that.
DRAYCOS MADE A THREAD!!!
What do you think is the reason why Gremlins are on Cradle?
1.They are here coz they are here, evolved from lower, simpler beings, and formed a civiliztion similar like human.
2.They are core's builders, they helped the building of Cradle but later betrayed the core, turning from servants to master.
3.They are Cradle's clean up crew, deconstruct older layers to make new ones, keep the things running while the core supplies the energy.
4.They are Core's guardians, they made this planet out side the core to prevent it from being breached, so far they did a good job.
5.Others.
Can you explain why you think that Dragon Scale is better on the way you proposed?
I have to admit that one of the Fehzor's threads influenced me a bit. Every set should represent a class, a play style, like a armor focused on cause special conditions.
As I understand it, #2. It's implied that Cradle was built from the ground-up to contain the Swarm, and the Gremlins played a big part in that, meshing different worlds into one big planet. Then King Tinkinzar betrayed some sort of pact- perhaps it was backstabbing the white light entity thing, or toying with the Swarm.
King Tinkinzar's decision wasn't exactly the same as the other Gremlins, though. Besides that, there isn't much info to make a strong claim, but maybe we'll get some more info later on.
___________
Because it's a boring set that only ends up being more useful in extremely specific conditions. C42 or nothing, pretty much.
This way, it'd be good against more than just Toxoils.
It'd also be really cool so it has that going for it too.
What shield do you think needs to be massively re-worked and why? Any shield :x
Ops, I lost some things from your comment.
Or you have complete fire resistance or fire boost your stats, because fire immunity cut off the boost. So, what you choose?
Anyway, both are interesting ideas. But there's a thing that I'm not understanding: Are you proposing triple defense(normal, piercing, elemental)? Because triple defense can be too much and I don't see on your comment something that compensate it.
I don't think any one shield needs to be massively reworked.
They all do.
Anything that isn't Grey Owlite, Crest of Almire, Swiftstrike, or Thorn Shield has no appealing offensive or defensive benefits compared to what i just listed.
____________
Both complete fire (damage) resistance and a stat boost when you're on fire.
Did I forget to say "halve piercing defense"? I did. Darn.
Lemme take it more in-depth, and make it more realistically balanced.
[][][][][][][] Elemental (full bar)
|||||| Normal (half bar)
{}{}{} Piercing (half bar)
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Fire Resist
-Take considerably less damage from Fire. These items would give the most Fire Resistance in the game. Two pieces of Dragon would give you immunity to the damage it deals and extends the duration of the status.
-Allies attacks can set you ablaze.
-Your attack speed is given a "High" bonus.
Trading some of that Piercing defense for Normal defense allows it to be more useful across the board. Taking advantage of an otherwise dangerous status is a new mechanic never seen in SK before, outside of some Stun bugs.
Friendly fire may or may not be something a Drakon would specialize in.
It's intended to be extremely gimmicky, yes.
So, basically, you think that Dragon Scale should get the ability to increase attack speed instead of take damage?
Why not simply take the fire resistence from it and give it the special ability you are proposing?(without discarding the triple defense idea)
I think you overcomplicated it.
I really liked your idea. Seems insteresting. Do you want to continue to talk about armor balance?
Darn, I forgot something again? That ASI is only when you're on fire.
Yeah, I used to post a lot in Suggestions.
No, you don't.
------
What about Plate set? I think that the plate set should get half of the normal defense for piercing, elemental and shadow and damage decreased low on each piece. Something like:
Plate set
|||||||||||||||| <- Normal(stay the same)
|||||||| <- Piercing
|||||||| <- Elemental
|||||||| <- Shadow
Stun resistance: stay the same
So, the Plate set will become more tank. I think that a tank is supposed to hit less and take more. Do you share the same thought?
What do you mean, no I don't? That I didn't mean for Dragon to become a flat ASI set? Yeah.
Plate is an... interesting topic. Tanking doesn't work in SK because it's a game based on dodging more than what skills you use and when.
In other games, a tank is there to soak up the damage so other people don't have to.
In SK, you don't need that, because you can just keep dodging.
Plate might work best with something among the lines of "flinching immunity", where you can keep attacking as much as you want without being stopped in your tracks by things like Shock and incoming attacks. It should also have much more defense than it has now, generally speaking.
I'd say Cobalt and Almirian Crusader are best suited for an "all-defense" set.
With "No, you don't", I mean "You don't forgot something again".
About Plate set, I wanted to mean that each piece should get piercing, elemental and shadow defense. Each of that specialized defense should be half of the normal defense on each piece. And a Plate Helm and a Plate Armor should get damage reduced low.
I'm repeating, because I think that you don't get this. Yeah, Cobalt should get "all-defense", but a Plate Armor should get more defense than Cobalt. Even more.
I got this idea when I was discussing with my cousin. I thought that in the way I imagined, the Plate set will be more useful to parties, working like a shield. For example, when a Gun Puppy is shooting, a Defender stands on the front of it, and a gunner can safely shoot on Gun Puppy while the Defender tanks. And situations like that. So the Defender can protect your mates while they and he/she is doing damage.
But I liked your ideas too. Certainly, "flinching immunity" would be a great thing too. I just tried to make it more party-friendly, because the game was intentionally made to have teamwork, right? Different players doing different functions.
Wow. I used "should" a lot.
But having different kinds of armor that do the same exact thing is boring.
Surely there are better ways to promote teamwork than meatshielding. Vortex bombs are a big example.
How would you feel about making the Omega and Plate shields able to block directional AoE? For example, the Retrode Beams, or Rocket Pup missiles?
Do you think that Tier 2 turrets are sadly more powerful than Tier 3, since they're more mobile-ish?
What would you do if we shot you with Bard's black arrow and stole your treasure hoard?
How come Tortodrones are so massive, yet their trademark shield is much smaller than their shell, but perfectly cut?
I think that I got it. Armor should do something unique, like "flinching immunity", right?
But how a Defender can help mates defending?
Certainly, a flinching immunity would make Defenders feel unstoppable. But how it can help the party?
EDIT:
@Potato
I think he isn't a dragon. See the armor he is using? To me, he appear to be more a dragon hunter than a dragon.
From now on, I'll put a dash "-" whenever I answer the next question. In order. This is getting confusing because I spam the Enter key too much.
-That'd be an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how it might work. Would it just "eat" the explosion, by shoving all the damage on the shield and nullifiying the explosion?
-Yes! Tier 3 turrets are easier to dodge because they only lock on to you at the beginning of their attacks. Tier 2 turrets much more dangerous to use a sword against, and are still annoying even in pairs. T3 turrets are only threatening in hordes..
-I'd probably be very sad. :(
-I'm thinking it uses the same material as a Tortodrone shell, just remade.
_________
-Uniqueness is the goal, yes.
-You should think more about shields for that than armors. Guardian Shields. Too bad they slapped that on a Battle Sprite instead of a regular, more reusable shield.
I'm a dragon in a box.
Yay me.
:/
If vanaduke became undead with complete status immunity and a resistance to all the needles people shoved in his face, do you think that would kill off the people leeching his hellish kingdom?
(I would have said construct but...robo vanaduke? Knyack knyack knyack)
(edit) -Oh, good! My disguise works after all.
-Why are you in a box? It's hard to t̸͢͡e̸r͢r̢̕or͠i̛͡z̨͘e t͜͟͠h҉͝e̡̛ wil̸ḑl҉̛if̴ȩ͏ ..Eh, um... adventure... when you're stuck in a box.
-Vanaduke should be classed as Undead, yeah. Just so family-based modifiers actually make an impact against him.
I'd also like to see Vanaduke have a small "flat" resistance to damage. It'd reward more calculated hits that way, as opposed to... You know. Needles.
At least, that's what I would say... It just can't happen because a Blitz charge's individual bullets hit just as hard as a 2-hit alchemer shot. Vanaduke isn't the problem (besides not having a family typing). Blitz is.
As for status resistance, I really don't like how Shivermist trivializes the fight (and so many other fights). I think it's more of a problem with how Shivermist and Voltaic Tempest work than anything else. Freeze normally isn't as powerful as with a shivermist, because a single tick of damage will instantly thaw the afflicted target. But if you're misting? Freeze procs so often, it rarely matters if you hit them. They'll get to turn for maybe a split second, then it's back to being a frozen punching bag.
And then there's Shock, which instantly makes something spasm the moment it procs. I'm thinking it'd be less of a problem if there was a short delay before a spasm, perhaps by removing the initial tick of spasming entirely.
It'd also make it a much less infuriating status to play against, so there's that, too.
I will admit, it is hard to adventure in a box. Fortunately, my mind is so powerful I can levitate the box. Also, I can break out on weekends. And holidays.
I hate Vog. Don't ask what it has to do with me D:
What about you? Do you get stuck in a box sometimes? :D
So which one is your favorite shadow mission?
Do you think they set the right amount of difficulty?
-Why only on weekends?
-Telling me not to ask makes me want to ask you more!
...Fine. I won't.
-Well... I've never been trapped in a box, but there was this one time where I got lost in a forest. Some creepy tall guy kept following me around making static noises.
He didn't stop, so I just turned around and told him to shut up.
Then the dude started slapping me and screeching.
He tasted like potatoes.
-Heart of Ice is my favorite, because it's difficult without being cheap-difficult. There are ways to no-spark it, and they aren't cheese strategies like with Grinchlin Assault.
-Generally speaking, Devilites are too similar between T2 and T3, and Skellies are a joke in all tiers.
For while, I'm out of ideas to plate armor, but it yet needs some specialized defense.
So, let's talk about of another armor. What you think about Angelic Set? I thought that it needs something more supportive, something related to healing or revive. So I thought in giving each piece the ability to revive one party member per depth. So, if you use a full set of Angelic, you can revive two party members per depth. Do you think it is OP or reasonable?
Since it's "angelic", I think it could have such power. Maybe cut off the defense a bit can make it more balanced. Certainly cut off the damage low against fiends, it's useless.
EDIT:
Free revive, but it give just half of the HP. A full party of angelic could make anything easy with full replenishment.
What pickups do you feel the need to have/are your favorites? Vials, barriers etc.
-While I want the team-revive system back as much as everyone else, I don't think it'd be possible to balance reasonably if it was limited to specific gear. Similarly, any healing ability would be incredibly difficult to manage; Heart Attack is only reasonable because it only heals when things die.
There are so many different ways to make "bland" sets unique... For Angelic, I'd like to see something among the lines of debuffing enemies that attack you (even if you shield it! Otherwise it'd be pretty lame) according to what variation of Angelic you're using.
Valkyrie would reduce the attacker's offensive stats.
Fallen would reduce the attacker's defensive stats.
Something like that.
______
-Besides the obvious, which are health pills and remedies, I always pick up Poison vials, assuming i'm not using a Carbine or Venom Veiler.
I only needed a single reason for it. It stops things from healing. I hate healer enemies.
Besides that, it's a toss-up between Curse against spammier enemies, a Recon Flare for the death-mark, Stun for the knockback in a pinch, or Freeze for keeping things where I want them.
I believe they removed the stun vial's knockback around the same update as when they nerfed the Blast Cube's initial explosion.
You know what does knockback, and stuns though? Shield-bashing. Do you make use of this feature? It feels underrated at times.
Do you play Magicka: Wizards of the Square Tablet? How about MARDEK?
What do you think should happen with all the Chroma sets, if you had your way?
-Well, okay, Stun for the times where i have absolutely no shields or maneuvering space. I haven't played in a while.
-Shield bashing is terrible compared to the pre-patch Stun Vials. Not only does it require you to be in melee range, it also drains half your shield, leave you pinned in place for a brief time before and after using it, and only inflicts a minor Stun.
It isn't underrated. Even a single swing of a heavy sword is more useful, because it's actually safe.
__________
-I don't know anything about Magicka besides it's a trading card game.
-I played MARDEK through all the current chapters, and it makes me sad that that there's been no progress for years.
-I remember several months ago, I proposed some basic changes for the Chroma gear.
Virulisk would have its bonuses upped to High. Volcanic would have its bonus changed to Gremlin High. Arcane would have its bonus changed to Construct High.
At the same time, other family bonus gear would have their modifiers scaled to "High" if they stayed that way.
Pretty self explanatory. I mean, there has to be some simple anti-X gear to choose from.
Would you yoloswag 420 blaze it?
