this is the equivalent to peyton manning trying to validate essentially throwing the superbowl by saying he put up all sorts of records throughout the season
don't get me wrong, i'm not saying 49k isn't something to put a feather in your cap over, but this would be impressive if you still stuck to the point of the game and managed to win

Still good, just went for damage, it's rld i can care less about winning. If i wanted to i could have went for caps and still gotten over 30k. Not having caps doesnt mean your stats suck, yes your capping and defending could suck but hey, any noob can stand on a base and wait for it to turn your color and leave.

i guess if that's the mindset we're going for then i'll go find a pickup game of basketball down the street and run the ball like it's football; sure i'm not playing the game right but i mean it's just a random game of basketball, who cares if i play it the wrong way and think i'm good because of it
@ Son-Of-Hades: the same argument can be said for the other team - there was no heavy hitter present to really act as opposition to the concept you're trying to argue, and they still won.if you're swinging against things that really aren't giving you the time of day in favor of winning a game, then what does that really say about anything at all? he got a high number, neat. the other team won, also neat.
the only thing this thread ultimately proves is you don't have to be good to play well, and you don't have to play well to be good. there's simply no way around addressing that point with the current context of the discussion

Well that's true, but people in LD don't all have the mindset of wanting to win to get there 200 cr back along with more krogmo coins and getting farther on the leader board quicker. Everyone knows the purpose of LD to cap points and defend them to win. But some people don't find that fun. Others like to go around and fight instead of standing on a point for 20 seconds. Fighting even without capping is still beneficial to the team because your putting pressure on the other team to go back and heal or kill them so they can't cap at all. If you want to win then sure go ahead and cap and defend the points, i know when i started ld and i wanted the recipes thats what i did, but at this point the only fun thing left in ld is going around and fighting for me. And at the times i do actually want to cap and win and someone on my team didn't cap once i don't care because i know i do the same thing.

@Krabob: I was in this game, and yeah, the damage is legitimate.
Remet camped our base with max damage Acheron and +5 Valiance and repeatedly whacked the 2-3 people who kept going south from base. Which is fine, because if Remet was capping aggressively we probably would have lost, even with the leaver on his team who I think disconnected near the beginning.
As for LD, I'm not good at 1v1s, so a lot of my fun in RLD is trying to win without engaging in unnecessary fights. If you see me in game, you might notice I run past enemies pretty often. And I suck at chasing enemies for the kill.
I use a Furious Flamberge / Storm Driver / Mega Magnus loadout for RLD--it's a status heavy set but it is really meant to train my ability to live longer in fights and win via endurance and landing hits, not by outdamaging an opponent. It is also meant as a "counter" to the sea of Black Kat / Chaos roaming around (even though this loadout is using BKC + Chaos too). After all, that is supposed to be their fundamental drawback to their powerful bonuses.
Plus, lighting people on fire with Flamberge is just really fun. Ask Statistician how he feels :O

Not sure why so many people are mad at him for not trying to win 100% and just deciding to have some fun and kill people.
Lockdown is so f'd up and boring nowadays anyway. Winning means nothing.
It's not HIS fault his team lost anyway, it's the other players. They could've done more as well.
Winning is no milestone. It's nothing unique, unlike this score which is obviously quite hard to get (a lot of it has to do with the drawing of players, but that's not everything.)
