If you wanna be super optimal you'll need to organise a group of four people who speedrun FSC on Normal. It should be possible in under 20 minutes if you're coordinated and good enough.
Lets talk about those new shields! :D
Playing with a well coordinated team is always best, but like SL its often hard to get that many on the same boat at the same time.
The stats for the Grand Tortoise is complete BS, why wasn't it given Volcanic Plate stats!? Or even better, completely different stats like all the rest had!? Ancient Plate sucks... :(
Good waste of a red colored shield. Gorgomega just blows it's very purpose out of the water with it's own solid bar of Stun resist with addition to Freeze resist and Shadow defense...
I've heard Grand Tortoise is like Ancient but has even more normal defence. Don't take my word for it, though.
As one with Grand Tortoise, I can say that it tanks all three stomps from a tortodrone and only being left on yellow, can anyone compare that to the Volcanic plate Shield and the Ancient Plate shield?
I can't speak for other shields, but the shadow torto shield is statwise equal to Dread Skelly, only with stun instead of poison. The MSD is presumably there to compensate for the double shieldbash.
The normal shield is significant in that it isn't biased towards the other shields. Only want to get one shield to play around with the tortodrone bash? Get the normal one such that you aren't restricted to only fighting ice fiends/undead, or shock/poison slimes/wolvers.
Then, you can have a mediocre tortodrone shield for all your tortodrone shield needs.
Savage Tortoise is identical to Royal Jelly Shield, except with Poison + Shock resistance instead of Stun + Sleep.
Omegaward is identical to Grey Owlite Shield except with Fire + Freeze resistance instead of Fire + Shock.
Gorgomega is identical to Dread Skelly Shield except with Freeze + Stun resistance instead of Freeze + Poison.
Grand Tortoise is identical to Ancient Plate Shield except it has the shield bash. (at least the 3* and 4* are the identical, and as far as I can tell from comparing my Grand Tortoise to my Ancient Plate Shield, they are also identical).
With the exception of the status changes for the specialised shields, the main difference is that they have different shield bashes and come with Movement Speed Decrease Low.
The Gorgomega sounds more suited for Heart of Ice. Anyone with a BKC is probably using that in there so that takes care of the movement penalty, and it looks like it could take a trojan hit while dread skelly can't (not that you should be doing that anyway, but it's nice to know it can)
but yeah, FSC, if you're already at the part where you don't use defensive shields in there then there's no point using any of the new ones either.
