I understand that this should really go under Wiki Editors (and it actually has) but I felt as though that General Discussion might get a lot more people to help even with listing references that aren't listed.
I saw a topic a long time ago that was bumped which actually had Gamemaster contact with it along with the previous lead developer of Spiral Knights, Nick. There were a hand-full of references listed in that topic and some other tidbits that many people were looking for and all the secrets that Spiral Knights contains. The Topic was bumped numerous times and resulted in Necromancy a lot which is highly frowned upon on the forums, especially since some of the bumps didn't contain much new information or references.
Prior to the major bumps of this said topic, I created a page that a lot of people really have yet to stumble upon on the Wiki and I eventually would like to talk to Gamemasters about having it possibly listed someone on the Wiki's front page and what not. This page is called the List of References, although somewhat misleading, the page is dedicated to composing an entire list of known references and tidbits ever revealed within the entirety of Spiral Knights' history.
However, looking up on the page as you can tell, it's missing a great deal of information that has been shown or even reported throughout the history of Spiral Knights. So I started this topic to help with this standard Wiki Page by listing any known information that would be a reference to Video-Games, Pop-Culture, Music, Movies, and more. Even if you don't have the ability to edit the Wiki Page, listing any new information here would be generous as it can help expand this known database of references.
As such, there are some guild lines to follow:
- The References are split into categories, they should speak for themselves on where to place what. General is basically the slot for anything that isn't in the game itself, but is referenced outside such as Advertisements.
- Each Reference must have a source page. Do not list information unless it has a source. If you can, listing to Wikipedia is the best location to link information to
- Ensure that the reference has a link to the Wiki Page you are describing
I'm hoping that the community can come together and slowly but surely start filling up the reference pages with any new or not-listed references on the Wiki Page to provide a clean and useful database of any known references that exist.
One of the missions, Rise or Fall, is named after the battle theme of Phantasy Star II. On another note, Battle Sprites are very identical in design and purpose to the Mags from the Phantasy Star Online games.
People tend to associate Apocrea to the Slenderman, a similar supernatural myth in common web culture, but as far as I know that's still wild mass guessing.
