Just for those wondering, the new gate (amber phantom, i think) if you wait for the proper levels, and get either the arena or TV on 27, and wait for the Tunnels on 28, pays out well. Last night lowest payout in my run was 30, highest was 45. We got a treasure vault, i suspect with the arena on 27 it will be a bit more.

I picked up, on the first day that Radiant drops was increased, the same number of Radiants that I picked up in the 3 months prior to the update. Since then I have picked up at least 75 Radiants. This is not a large number, but it is dramatically better than it was.
Yes, Radiants do drop more now. Do they drop enough? It is still pretty time consuming to collect enough to heat my gear... and I will certainly not buy them at the rate of 700ce/50. That is not happening.

Well I've done 5 fsc runs in the last 2 days and got on average 25 Rads per run.

If I got 250 radiants for 700 energy, then I would be okay with that tradeoff. Maybe just 200.

Right now you'd have to be stupid to buy fire crystals period. However, only 700 CE to fully heat a weapon is too much. I'd go with 700CE/200, like Fangel said.
+1 to 700ce/200 radiants. It is still too time consuming to obtain radiants reliably, if it started at D24 with a 50/50 shining to rads, the game would be a much better place.
Currently, I am still trying to refine the absolutely fast fsc crowns expense speedrun given u skip D24 entirely, go for 6 rooms in D25 and so on. It is safe to assume that radiants which was nerfed after the arcade redux was at 3-18 per run averages depending on RNG. Now it has slightly moved up to 5-35 per run averages depending on RNG. Thats on EFSC mind you. Given your fsc run took about 35-65 minutes, it still takes 2 full days to heat up a 5* weapon much less the newer players with loads of 4* equips.
As a p2p player, I find that OOO is going to ruin this game completely. 1 year ago, I thought the core was going to come out and 1 year later, everything remained the same with new prestiges and also poor balancing of the crystals left a distaste in my mouth. At the current exchange of 700ce/50 rads, heating a 5* to level 10 would allow you to have enough crowns to buy another 5*.
OOO is going to regret this decision one day. Getting to 5* would turn human players into robots who would play excessively just to heat a 5*.

I am a fairly active player myself since my return, i wanted to accomplish something I had not completed before last year but seriously, I want to have fun not to be a self aware robot doing FSC for hours on end just to get myself a 5* weapon. I am heating a combuster at the moment, but the amount of work and effort to get 1 5* weapons makes me feel like this game was meant for robots to play seriously.
Average run from T3 Basil to the core will net you between 10 and 20 radiants. That is the average, you may get more (I have personally seen up to 33), you may get less. It is dependent on the floors you get and a little luck. Skepticraven was kind enough to tell you what floors are good and which are bad for radiants, although most should have been obvious just from the amount of boxes in them.
In addition there are a few missions one can do to get radiants. The Gauntlet ends at D26, which is within radiant range, just as an example.
