They should make it so the fire crystals drop ONLY in their specific stratums. Think about it, there's 6 different variants of fire crystals and 6 stratums in total

Having fire crystals drop in their specific Stratum levels is a very good idea. I know OOO likes stacking the odds against us. Maybe instead of a 100% chance we get say RFC in stratum 6. We get a 95% chance with a 1% for the other 5 lower types. In stratum 5 we get a 96% chance of Shining Fire Crystals with a 1% chance of getting the other 4 lower ones. So in summary

+ Stratum 1 — Depth: 01-03 (Tier 1) ~ 100% Cracked Fire Crystal

+ Stratum 2 — Depth: 05-07 (Tier 1) ~ 99% Dim Fire Crystal / 1% Cracked Fire Crystal

+ Stratum 3 — Depth: 09-12 (Tier 2) ~ 98% Warm Fire Crystal / 1% Dim Fire Crystal / 1% Cracked Fire Crystal

+ Stratum 4 — Depth: 14-17 (Tier 2) ~ 97% Glowing Fire Crystal / 1% Warm Fire Crystal / 1% Dim Fire Crystal / 1% Cracked Fire Crystal

+ Stratum 5 — Depth: 19-22 (Tier 3) ~ 96% Shining Fire Crystal / 1% Glowing Fire Crystal / 1% Warm Fire Crystal / 1% Dim Fire Crystal / 1% Cracked Fire Crystal

+ Stratum 6 — Depth: 24-28 (Tier 3) ~ 95% Radiant Fire Crystal / 1% Shining Fire Crystal / 1% Glowing Fire Crystal / 1% Warm Fire Crystal / 1% Dim Fire Crystal / 1% Cracked Fire Crystal

OR (I prefer this way)

+ Stratum 1 — Depth: 01-03 (Tier 1) ~ 100% Cracked Fire Crystal

+ Stratum 2 — Depth: 05-07 (Tier 1) ~ 90% Dim Fire Crystal / 10% Cracked Fire Crystal

+ Stratum 3 — Depth: 09-12 (Tier 2) ~ 90% Warm Fire Crystal / 10% Dim Fire Crystal

+ Stratum 4 — Depth: 14-17 (Tier 2) ~ 90% Glowing Fire Crystal / 10% Warm Fire Crystal

+ Stratum 5 — Depth: 19-22 (Tier 3) ~ 90% Shining Fire Crystal / 10% Glowing Fire Crystal

+ Stratum 6 — Depth: 24-28 (Tier 3) ~ 90% Radiant Fire Crystal / 10% Shining Fire Crystal

What are your thoughts?

It's ridiculous how I find more Warm Fire Crystals in Stratum 4 than Glowing Fire Crystals.

And now we wait for people to bash on this thread just for your history. No offense, of course.

@ Sonosuke

No offence taken.

As far as my 'history' is concerned I have suggested things to help make improvements. Obviously I can't make everyone happy.

I don't mind constructive criticism as long as it isn't personal. Bash on the thread all you want, but stick to the topic please.

How to reduce the convoluted

How to reduce the convoluted bloat:
Nuke the star ratings, just have one and only one type of Fire Crystal.

Why should an effective strategy to farm radiants be rushing FSC's first depth?

Yes, I would enjoy farming radiants much easier... but I don't think being able to effectively farm radiants through spamming the first depth of certain missions.

Maybe not have Fire Crystals

Maybe not have Fire Crystals drop at all from missions.

@ Skepticraven; interesting. So it would be better to adjust the percentages to resemble each floor rather than east stratum as a whole. Although what I should have said was, as things are with the drop rates, by having more RFC drop than SFC on a particular floor in Stratum 6 is better than having more SFC drop than RFC on a particular floor in Stratum 6.

@ Sleepy-Hollows; then only buy for ce from the supply depot? Please explain further, I'm all ears.

I meant only find them in the Clockworks. That was my solution to Skepticraven talking about doing D1 of FSC. Although I'm pretty sure the percentages already are based on what floor you are on.

Finally, my 1000 warm crystals will have a use other than to clutter my inventory.

Exactly. But I didn't make that more clear I guess. Thought it was obvious.

Hmm...maybe that is what OOO are planning with the Arcade....

I doubt it, since that wouldn't be "fair."

Also, I hate to be a grammar nazi... but it's "OOO IS planning" not "OOO are planning."

I hate a grammar Nazi!

Hmm...when I type OOO I kind of mean like a group of people, a collection of people/a team. I read OOO as three ring's'. So I have a habit of using 'are' after OOO lol. Oh well. Some habits are never broken :)

"The word 'are' is used in sentences that have plural subjects"

"The word 'is' is appropriate when the subject is singular"

OOO is a singular

OOO is a singular group/collection of people/team. If we were talking about more than one group named OOO, then that's when it becomes plural. While the words "three rings" is something plural, when it is used as a proper noun, "Three Rings," to mean a group, it is then a singular noun. While Three Rings is made up of more than one person, the noun "Three Rings" is something singular.

"In American English, collective nouns are almost always treated as singular. In British English, it often depends on whether the speaker/writer sees the noun as a unit or as individuals. That seems to defeat the purpose of collective nouns, but that is how it is. 8)"

Lets stay on track please.

@Arcknight: Yeah, you also

@Arcknight: Yeah, you also edited your post to say that and I didn't see that until I had posted already. Before, I couldn't tell if you knew you were wrong or not. I usually don't pick at something small like this, but I see this common mistake quite often and it has become a bother to me.

Back on track....
OOO seems to be treating Missions as if they are the arcade themselves. While technically since the depths of Missions are found within the Clockworks, they aren't wrong in separating the two in regards things like drops. They also likely have a system in which it would make it hard to make Missions not drop Fire Crystals. So in order to achieve that, OOO would have to revamp Missions. Now while they may do something similar to revamping the Missions (I'm talking about changes we can't see ourselves but rather changes with how things work internally) for the Arcade Redux, I don't see the Arcade Redux being solely to make it where Fire Crystals are dropped only there. I do see the Arcade Redux as something that does separate the Missions from the Arcade, but I do also think the overall Arcade Redux will be something quite larger. Although changing it to make Fire Crystals only drop in the Arcade may be a step in the Redux. Basically, changing the drops to be exclusive in the Arcade isn't THE plan, but could be a step in the plan.

EDIT: You keep editing your posts while I'm typing a response. Also, if you are going to quote something, you might want to put a reference if you don't want me to think you pulled it out of thin air.

I'm normally always right lol, so never doubt me =)

I quoted that from a random discussion forum on correct use of are and is. I closed the screen now, but finding it yourself if this bothers you much shouldn't be too difficult.

In response to only having Fire Crystals drop in arcade...I'm not sure. It is more convenient to farm FSC for crowns and get a bunch of Crystals than farm the Arcade. I don't know...going back into the Arcade seems tedious to me after it is so easy to jump straight into a mission.

Edit: One thing I do hate is having to do one floor in FSC, heat my item to level 1 max then having to exit the run at the end to forge it. Am I doing this right or is there a way to forge the item on the second depth of that run.

For example, I get my 3 star Brandish to level 4 max heat at the lift on d24. Can I now forge it to level 5 at d25 or do I need to exit the run and go to haven? As far as I know in arcade normal runs, there are arsenal stations at each depth right?

@Arcknight: All I'm saying is

@Arcknight: All I'm saying is that if you are going to quote something as if it is taken from some sort of source, then you need to state the source otherwise there is no proof that you didn't just make it up and tried to make it look official. Also, I don't know the legitimacy of this "random discussion forum" you found it on. Neither do you, most likely. As for your "normally always right" adds no support to anything. Now if i knew you and trusted you because I had first hand experience seeing that you were normally always right, then it might add some weight. Telling me not to doubt you is illogical because I don't have first hand experience with your words. Well except with your saying "OOO are" which is incorrect.

Agreed. But me and Hollows took this thread off track, we sorted it out in game. I'll make a new one.
