Well i didnt try out the beta for battle sprite because i can't, but since i read about the skills in forum somewhat i believe it to be press-to-activate kind of skills.
Well here is my own suggestion for battle sprite mechanics:
1) passive skills, means u dont have to click to activate the skill. but with lesser skills or weaker effects, with short cooldown
2) one passive skill, one active skill. the passive skill will be temporary buff or something like critical hit rate or debuff. active skill will be more like for utility use or pure damage
