Consistent lag/freezing/slowdowns for many (all?) since Halloween update

Numerous threads have appeared since the Shadowkey sale update just before Halloween complaining about lag, freezes, game skipping, or running slow, often people report their entire party been affected by lag. These issues are happening regardless of connection, hardware, or number of players playing, I think something about the game itself is causing these issues and hope to say it fixed in the near future.

Black game window and crash.

After downloading the game, it starts, shows me the black game window and crashes.
I have 2 desktops(9 years old and 5 years old), 1 laptop(3 years old), and 2 netbooks(one year old).
The game does not run on my laptop only :(

Technical Issues

I uninstalled Spiral Knights from Steam and decided to install it as a separate app directly from the Spiral Knights installer found on http://www.spiralknights.com/play.xhtml. However, when I launched SK, it will somehow stop downloading 3/4 of the way before 100%. This is really irritating as I would have to re-open it again and then it would redownload the files again. I have already finished downloading a 400mb file on Google Chrome and it even finished already before SK even reached 20% of files downloaded.

Automatically disable Windows 7 Aero?

How can I automatically disable the Windows 7 Aero whenever I open Spiral Knights? I am using the Steam version of the game btw but I haven't linked my SK account to Steam yet so Im using the actual SK username and pass. Any help?

Wont start game after GFX card change

Hello, I can no longer boot the game on my computer after making some GFX changes.

I upgraded my 5770 CF, to 6870 CF setup, unfortunately one of the 6870s had some mem issues, so now I am just running a single 6870 (which has been running BF3 fine) but the SK client wont load. When it tries to load it crashes with the windows error: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" etc...

As for my drivers, before I took the duff 6870 I updated the drivers to 11.0 preview 3 driver, ensuring all previous drivers were removed.

I seem to spawn inside the Haven Fountain, then soon crash

Yeap.
Camera is in on the fountain, Im somewhere... I can say a few things in chat, like "oh god get me out of here" and then I crash.

Yesterday When I started spiral knights it was lagging, The dot was on 2 and 1 all the time.
I tried diffrent things lower the settings off all kind even on my computer.
And when that wasn't enuff I reinstalled the game. So when I relogged it went even worse :S.
Its on 1 Dot all the time :S.

1 Week ago I was playing So fine at 3 dots.
Whats this all about ?

If this keeps up I won't be online for a while or just quit.

And I could use some usefull help.
