What is this how do i fix this i really want to try this game

i have been playing spiral knights 4 a week now i run win xp home edition the first time i downloaded the game it comes up with the unexpected end of file from server error that was fine i checked the forums found i just needed to re download it and i did and it worked when the expansion came out th happily downloaded the patch and installed it but when the newest bug fix was released it has completely stuffed up 4 hours of searching the forums and the internet to find out what is wrong nothing i check if my comp is compatible it is i run all the updates possible i download and re download the

Hiya! I can't play the game cause most of the time when I try and login to my knight it won't let me and just disconnects me from the server! But the weird thing only sometimes it works? And I know I'm not just unlucky with the times cause my friends can just login normally and I can't o_O?

When ever I try to change the size of the screen it kills the program. Any selection I choose and it kills it.

the game apparently needs to download some files, but it is unable to, and wont even run past the first in-browser load-up... im not sure what this means, but any help is appreciated. my pc does meet the requisite spec's. the same thing happens when i try downloading the client, it makes the whole five attempts to download the files, then stops as it fails to complete them.

Whenever i log in, the game plays for me until about 3 minutes, my screen then goes black and shuts the game down.
Anyway way i can stop this?

Hi guys, not sure if this is a technical problem or if I'm supposed to do something before playing..Basically when done my appearence the 'confirm' button isn't lit up so I can't click it..thanks.

since yesterday patch im unnable to join SK... a message keeps popping out that i cant reach the files or the download servers.

Considerations:
- no changes on my machine
- no firewalls
- tryed to log directly from sk website, still no good
- i logged in the morning before the released bugfix on 05/19, it was ok
- appearently, no error logs on spiral folder

My specs are: AMD x2 4400+ / 2Gb RAM / ATI HD 5770 - Windows XP SP3 and the latest 1.6.0 JRE

Alright everyone,
I've used the Sticky guides above, and they solved my prolbem for the main part.

But when I try to change resolution or fullscreen, the client crashes.
Computer drive's are updated, and I've got the specifications.

No idea why it's doing this,
Any help?

Nearly every time I play this game my laptop just shuts down on me unexpectedly often right in the middle of really important things and with the latest patch it's happening whenever I try to login.

Laptop is Lenovo Thinkpad T410 and I have Windows 7, and I got the latest version of Java on it.

I tried looking around but didn't find anything about sudden shutdowns anywhere.

And when I say sudden shutdowns I mean I freeze up and my laptop just powers off on me and I have to turn it back on. I don't know why this happens or why it chooses to happen when I'm playing this game.
