What if you will make DLCs with new costumes or maybe boxes? For example, there are few dlcs in borderlands 2, one map with unique monsters and mask as reward, just $3 for that. So you can can make something like danger mission with unique rewards, it can be part of the box, material for craft or recipe.
Your last promo box was terrible. It's bad form to sell it. I already said about that issue http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/104244
So you ask $6 for OCH with 2 weps and mask, but $5 for a box with 50% chance of getting 20kcr. I'm not surprising, that such promoactions don't attract players to the game. Black cat event isn't good too, even with 24/7 speedruns farming, player can't get enough books for the new armor.
You are doing everything possible to leave in the game only players with money bags. I know players who bought DLC and nothing else, so new DLCs probably can hel you to bring players back and earn some money.
My bad, i forgot, that developers don't read our suggestions, i even not sure that they talk with game masters. So they will continue to kill the game and sell boxes from old promos.

Hmm, i've fought worse

I think that Nick or some GM said that there was not going to be any more DLC content for spiral knights one time, I'm too lazy to look for it tho XD.

And about the promo boxes well... I remember the last time I bought into a promo was the dragon wings one, no, the valkyrie wings actually but at that moment promos came with energy purchases, wich IMO was WAYYY better, they rewarded every player that purchased energy with cool items and there was no feeling of loss if you didn't get the rare item, because the promo was REALLY a promo, not just a limited time offer. But the way it is now only seems to cater for the players who are willing to spend loads-a-money or more for a chance at that new shiny costume or accesory, same goes to lockboxes, 750 CE for a high chance of turing your money into nothing, And guess what! i only opened about 15 boxes, and even though i did get a valuable item (toasty wolver tail I used 4ever since) i did a bit of research, watched other players open boxes and concluded that 750 energy was not anywhere near what i wanted to spend to open a lockbox, and that is the same reason i've never got into prize boxes, i simply don't consider them worth spending on.

then they added shadow lair keys inside lockboxes, probably to encourage players into opening more of them... by adding yet another uber rare item into them, effectively locking lots of players away from shadow lairs ( get it? becaus they're loc- NVM terrible pun ), wich was the most evil way they could have gone about it, and we all know how that story ended up.
It seems that they yet have not given up trying to force players to accept them only caring for the rich players, who seem to be the only ones who can access their new contents, i wonder how long can they hold up trying to drive their players away like this, unless that is what they are seeking to do, wich is a thought i am starting to think makes sense lately.

if they wanted people to start buying into these kind of chance boxes they need to give good rewards for everyone, no, im not saying that everyone should instantly get a pair of divine dragon wings or a celestial saber or whatever, i am fine with having rare items, but at least give the people something valuable instead of having a 80% chance of crap, 20.5% chance of OK and 0.5% chance of WOOT!

"even with 24/7 speedruns

"even with 24/7 speedruns farming, player can't get enough books for the new armor"
And then there are people among players who have jobs and can't do 24/7 speedruns, what can they do to get cool stuff? Its not in Supply Shop.

"at that moment promos came with energy purchases, wich IMO was WAYYY better"
I completely agree, those promotions were superior - they gave you a nice bonus for purchasing energy.

At this time it seems developers have a single goal: milk as much money from the players as they can before shutting down Spiral Knights.

Is spiral knights going to be shut down? :(
