Torpor Tantrum Discussion

I'm going to say it outright- the sleep haze bomb, Torpor Tantrum, SHOULD outclass shivermist buster at most things. I believe Vana is immune to sleep however, so shiver should stay relatively well in the meta as the easy way out of duke for bombers and newer players, but for everything else, Torpor.
Upsides to Torpor:
-They CANNOT attack you
-It lasts a long time, letting you get out a good attack
-It stacks with freeze beautifully
-Can stack it with fire, shock, etc.
-Can inflict sleep upon freeze themed enemies, whereas shiver cannot. (Heart of Ice, anyone?)
-Wolvers do not teleport when attacked at if asleep
Downsides to Torpor:
-Cannot reinflict directly after they wake up to sleep-lock enemies
-Takes a small amount of time for enemies to fall asleep; their animation finishes
-Doesn't effect construct
-Doesn't effect ANY turrets, as all turrets share status resists with gun puppies, a construct
-Doesn't effect Vanaduke at all, so no shiver replacement

That bomb beats Powerful Freeze Bomb in some point but some of your attacks can wake them up giving them Alert Status that protects them from Sleep Status

Someone else made another thread about this so I'll link to my post there as well.

Basically, my conclusion was as follows:
Sleep is a MUCH stronger bomb that outclasses freeze against hard content when used by good players, but freeze is much more noob friendly, and allows bombers a much needed place in FSC as well as allows for the cheese-strats caused by spamming the bomb to freeze-lock enemies. If you're a bomber that plays less of hard-SK and more of casual levels, freeze will do you A LOT better than sleep. If you play almost strictly hard-SK as a hybrid and can afford to get CTR med+ then sleep is a very nice tech. For that reason I'd actually expect freeze to get more use- most people don't sit down and do shadowplay every time they log on, they go for FSC or JK or something where sleep is overkill or freeze is better.
is that I keep seeing people that dislike how it regens health on some enemies. Though, in my own opinion, I think that isn't much of a downside. The health regen doesn't always happen and it's not that much health. So the bomb is still very useful. Especially in LD.
