hi

i want a Vog Cub Coat and Cap, but i want one with an (very)HIGH UV (i think it's called UV)
1) is it a good idea to craft wolver / dusker coat & cap until i got a good one and then transmute until vog cub coat & cap
2) what is the change to find a good one with crafting wolver / dusker coat & cap, and what UV is good to use (and which rate)

i currently have 4* gear:
ascended calibur (high bonus damage against slime)
mighty cobalt helm & armor
and a mighty defender shield)
but i want 5* gear and directly a good one so dont have to buy it again

tnx for your help

You'll only get a UV about

You'll only get a UV about 10% of the time when you are crafting an item. Of those, about 70% are going to be Lows. Even with the ones that are not Low, it might be something pointless like Medium Sleep.

If done too hastily you could blow through 10k CE and not find the UV you are looking for. So if you see a UV you want for sale at a reasonable price, grab it as that will be a sure thing instead of trying your luck. I'll craft items using spare ME then sell the UVs I don't want (the vast majority) on the Auction House for a small profit.

The UVs that are nice to have on the Vog set are Normal, Elemental, Shadow and Shock.

Armor defense and resistance

Armor defense and resistance bonuses don't seem to have caps or comparable values. Unlike, say, the bonuses to weapons such as damage, ctr and speed.

We don't know exactly how the bonuses stack or exactly how much they contribute to reducing damage. The bars displayed in the game are very misleading and don't match up to the tests. I would suggest getting the best you can comfortably afford. Hopefully we'll know how these things work some day. If interested, check out this thread for some of the data gathered thus far:

My 2 Cents

just my 2 cents

it's better to craft the wolver coat/cap instead of dusker and upwards and try and get your good UVs..
this costs the least energy, and once you get a good UV you start upgrading it.
or as suggested.. look for the UV you want and try get it for a cheap price.

armor UV is different to weapons
it has 4 levels per piece
low > medium > high > maximum

so to answer your question:
there's no cap (unlike weapons), so high + high would offer more than medium + medium

and just some extra information.

there are 2 types
damage reduction type >> normal, piercing, shadow, elemental
status reduction type >> shock, fire, curse, freeze, sleep, stun, poison

damage reduction types
i prefer to specialise, having different sets for different purposes. So for example vog cub, i would prefer normal or elemental.
while skolver i would choose normal or pierce...
doing it this way will cost heaps, but is more optimal in the long run.
Also, because each stratum is themed, it's just more logical.

status reduction types
I personally prefer the anti status UVs, because most players know that avoiding damage is the most important.
So it's not too much about damage reduction, but more about trying to prevent statuses from stopping you from avoiding things.
any of the status reductions reduces the time and severity(if applicable) that you are inflicted with it.

Shock - it randomly 'stuns' you, doing damage and unable to block, and stops charging weapons.
Freeze - roots you in place, until you take a hit.
Fire - does damage, interrupts charging.
Stun - Slows you down, move speed and attack speed.
Curse - 'locks' certain weapons and vials, if you use them you will take damage.
Poison - makes you do less damage, and take more damage
Sleep - pretty much a 'stun', but there aren't many monsters that can inflict this status, so you don't need to worry about this too much.

Just craft your normal ones

Just craft your normal ones first and after you got all your 5* gear, then start trying to get UVs by crafting the 2*/3* of it. And plus, when you craft your normal ones, you might get a UV.
