So we, Russian players, who began to play Spiral Knights after it were connected to Steam, would like to have our own haven like German, French and Spain players. We ask you to add into the game 1(one) or 2(two) Russian Havens(Servers).

Yeah, ppl say that there was russian Haven when the game started to work but dev's removed it because there were not so many russian players and the heaven was almost empty. And now many russian ppl began to play this game and they need an in-game place where they can meet, lol.

I do not live in Russia, but part of the problem is that Three Rings does not have a GM that speaks Russian. For every set of Havens, they want to have a GM that speaks that language.

It will be useful not only for Russian, but also for all CIS (ex-soviet) countries. Russian-speaking community is one of the biggest in Spiral Knights, so we need 2-3 Havens (maybe more).We also need Cyrillic script. If you care of players, please do it ;) Thanks!

While there's no real russian
Because there's no real russian translation yet, for now I'd suggest creating the dummy GUI language option for the client: like russian[en] (just copies of the english client text. Or do many of you prefer german/other language GUI?)... that way...:
- I guess there'd sort of automatically be a russian haven?
- New players would start out there and could easily find help.
- That "group with same language only" option would work.
We could really use some more players in our timezones (and opponents :D play more lockdown, Russia!) so I think it'd be great if someone could help Russian players that don't happen to speak english/german/whatever fluently, too, get an easier & less demotivating start. Without a russian haven, many might quit just because it takes them too long to find someone they can talk to.

And why not? If you're going to cater to a world-wide audience, shouldn't you accommodate your foreign players?
Perhaps when joining we should have an option to tick a box of languages we know. Then perhaps the game can automatically try to group players based on language?

Congratulations to Russian-speaking community with a small victory! :)
But the encoding is still having problems. Java applications can display russian letters, if you specify the encoding when compiling the application. Developers spiral knights did not consider it as German, Spanish, French, English letters do not need to be encoded.
Therefore we can not write to the chat in Russian language.

While this MAY be ideal, it's pretty alienating to have to wade through a sea of people you can not understand just to find one or two that can speak your language. This would also make team work harder.
You don't just learn a language just by seeing people type it back and forth a lot. While immersion can help, it won't miraculously bestow another language onto you.

the idea has been, i believe, thoroughly discussed, the first post literally states what it is, there is no real way in my opinion to build onto it any more...

And as to the idea of creating a haven for every language, that would be impossible. There needs to be a GM that speaks every language being commonly used in the game, and to have a GM for every language would be financially impossible. So, my suggestion is to find the top 10 most spoken languages in the world (that does not mean natively spoken, but how many people can get by in it) and create havens for those.
