I have a damage bonus vs. beasts UV on one of my weapons, and it's so useless considering you can take out wolvers and chromalisks pretty easily. I support a new beast series as well as those status-causing gremlins.

I like your beasts...

...And here's one of my own!

The Bovight! (Name origin: Bovine + might)

It's a large, bull-like creature, a bit bigger than an Alpha Wolver, and covered in glowing markings.

It has three main weapons. Its horns, its rear hooves, and its aura attack. If it's far away from a target, it paws the ground a few times, and then charges at the same speed as a charging Trojan. This causes heavy piercing damage and a knockback, a bit less damage than a lumber, making any knight it hits fall on its butt. If it's closer, it can just swing its head at you and cause a smallish about of piercing damage, plus a tiny bit of normal. If someone's BEHIND it, the Bovight can kick with its hooves and cause heavy normal damage, also a bit less than a lumber, along with a ton of knockback. The attacks listed so far make it very deadly, and its weakest spot is its side. Its only defence there is an aura attack, causing its status. Stun for the Bovight, freeze for the Yakryo (Name origin: Yak + cryo), fire for the Embull (Name origin: Ember + bull), poison for the TOxic (Name origin: Toxic + ox, and this one definately needs reworking. And yes, the O was supposed to be capitalized.), and shock for the Shox (Name origin: Shock + ox, this one is stupid, but I like it. :D). The aura is about as big as a 3 or 4* mist bomb.

Bovights appear less often than lumbers, maybe even the same as Trojans, so we won't be spammed with them everywhere, don't worry. :D

Toxen

Toxic + Oxen (plural for ox)

Also, maybe switch the Tak and Cryo around to make it "Kyrak" instead of "Yakryo"

Love these ideas.

Love these ideas. Mooooo.

Here's ideas for Slimes:

>Oiler Baron: Hey, I know they're already working on this, but here's some ideas. The Oiler Baron will, of course, be like a fiery Toxilargo... but it'll leave a lot more oil, instead of poison gas. And it can have a "Flamethrower" consisting of fiery spikes that pop out of the ground and leave a tiny amount of fiery mist. Dangerous with oil around. There may need to be water in the battle room...
>Ice Princess: This cold-cored heir to the throne is of a lesser size than the Ice Queen, and has a smaller crown on her head; however, don't discount her ability to use a miniature berserk spin attack, hurl Ice Minis around the room, and attack in a similar manner to the Royal Jelly. The Ice Princess also has a dash that can get her in close combat with knights (or away from those Dark Retribution bombs), and gathers Ice Spikes like an Ice Cube to make up for her (relatively) smaller size. Keep fire handy!
>Mercurial Mass: A giant Quicksilver, this is the quickest of the giant slimes. Mercurial Mass is deadly enough when it's just running around slamming knights with his spiked body or hurling electrified thorns around the room, but he has an electrical spin attack, like any smaller Quicksilver's. It moves slower than a normal Quicksilver charge, but it leaves an electric field in its wake, and this auto-activates whenever it gets Shocked. If it glows green, stay back... and for heaven's sake, put away that Polaris.
>Supreme Blast Cube: At the size of the Ice Princess, this oversized yellow Blast Cube is intimidating enough as is. It hurls explosive globs of gel everywhere, and even has the Ice Princess's Dash. Supreme Blast Cube has no spin attack to his credit; instead, when he dies... oh boy. Most Blast Cubes go out with a bang; this big fella goes out with an earth-shaking KABADABADABOOM! The range and damage of his explosion is so massive that you have to get behind conveniently placed blocks just to survive such an explosive encounter. (Fortunately, Recon Knights managed to convince Supreme Blast Cubes that putting blocks in the corners of their room, with a little room in between, is a huge fad and highly thought of among Slimes.)

Bump/Thread Defibrillation.

Bump/Thread Defibrillation. (It was only half dead!)

Plus, a new Fiend:

>Skitterweb: Waiting high on the ceiling of Shadow-infested Clockworks, all that gives the Skitterweb away is a tiny shadow. When a knight moves close, the eight-legged, Greaver-eyed Skitterweb falls down on a thread, surprising enemies nearby. This effectively stuns them, making them more vulnerable to the Skitterweb's deadly Bite, which is much like the average Wolver's bite, but less sharp and more shadowy. Skitterwebs can jump forward before biting, or spit globs of sticky webbing that cause damage and get all over the knight; this attack causes a double-length Stun, along with any other status effect (at normal length). Tier 2 and lower Skitterwebs can use a Web Net, which does no direct damage, but applies double-length Stun and any other status, and they Bite twice. Tier 3 and lower Skitterwebs have deadly spines on their legs that they can use in a Spin Attack; this does damage similar to Bite, but has powerful knockback. If a Skitterweb stops attacking a target, it'll jump back up into the Clockworks.

The purple Skitterweb has no extra status effect to his name. The orange Vulcanweb somehow makes webs that don't lose any stickiness while caught on fire, and the grey Wintarantula spins freezing strands that chill enemies completely in place. Wirebrands are a dark blue color; they spin electrically-charged webs that have even been found in Devil-IT computers. Ebon Widowmakers are known far and wide for their jet-black carapace, their red hourglass marking, and the virulent toxin that seeps into their webs and spines.

I was going to post this somewhere else but derp

We could have spiders but to keep them unique there would have to be a defining feature. For example, if they specialize in knocking you into their webs which inflict various status effects and are susceptible to other statuses. To stay consistent with the original post, materials from them could be used for a set which improves shield bumping and weapon knockback.

For spider based equipment instead of giving damage bonuses it could give a shield bumping and/or weapon knockback buff, one line from each staple status (fire, shock, freeze, poison) branching from a 2* obtained as an uncraftable (the 2* can not be made but is necessary to craft the upgrades) and/or untradable (see Dark Retribution, the Seerus hammers, etc.) reward from a spider based boss by tokens and/or rare drop from the boss itself.

As part of the beast series spiders would do pierce with the following behavior:

→Falling from the ceiling (taken from the original post though more specific), mimicking the falling ceiling while fighting Vanaduke. This attack would only be usable on entry and may not be repeated by the same spider, except for the boss which can do whatever; I can derp around with concepts for a boss later.

→Shooting webs (also taken from the original post) with corresponding statuses as the spider which shot it with similar function as Chromalisk spit but in a larger area and only disappears when a different status web touches it or if a different status spider touches it, damaging the spider. Webs on the floor slow movement while walking through them in addition to the status effect from it.

→Jabbing, slicing, lunging and charging knights with a swift regular attack which does not inflict any status.

→Biting/intoxicating through venom which inflicts a status (specific to the spider, one of four statuses as mentioned earlier) in a slower attack. The boss can be sleep status to reintroduce an old friend, its bite allowing it to pick up knights and stick them to various status webs on the walls of the boss room. The queen sticks you to one of the four status webs, there are no sleep webs; otherwise people would abuse the healing effect.

→ And much more! Buy now and get double the offer! Supplies are limited so order now!*

* This is not a product to be vended by means which I am able to manipulate; if Three Rings wants to take any of this they have full rights. Not that I can complain since I would enjoy being stuck to walls for any reason.

As for the equipment there can be various effects rather than all four lines giving shield bumping and weapon knockback buffs. For example, give the fire line a buff to how far enemies are shield bumped but take away gun speed to deter abuse by gunslingers. The freeze line can give some sword knockback while lowering bomb charge; give a buff for one weapon and a debuff for another while leaving a third weapon alone.

For defense on these armours they can vary; shadow and pierce on the poison line, element and normal (or shadow**) for fire, element and pierce for freeze, element and shadow for shock.

** Fire, element and shadow would mean everyone would make it for Vanaduke. Derp.

EDIT: Aw derp, the above post is about spiders. Maybe we can have two breeds of spiders, statusless fiends and status beasts where one is a series of missions and the other becomes part of the Clockworks.

I have been pondering the concept for a while, as a few other things in a thread I made a week or so ago, but no one or very few seem to care. Most of it is for weapon changes and new lines branching from existing lines. Hurr. I have a few other cans to kick around if anyone is interested.

Bluebrawler, the thread belongs to Three Rings; all you did was create the thread and post a few pebbles of a boulder.

Beasts will set Haven on fire

From the Beast arena thread, the large gap in Beasts' lack of a turret, healer, or 'fighter (mobile attacker or Not!MechaKnight) shines there. So here're some throw-away ideas.

Not!Polyp, or Bird on a Perch
A small bird on a stump or pole that shoots bullets. There is literally nothing more. They function like Polyps, in that they can attack from all angles, they come in all status flavors any other beast does, and have the standard 1-3-5 bullets corresponding to tiers 1-2-3. For fun, a parrot that can cause a strong curse.

(I also like the hedgehog idea, SEGA would get behind that)

Not!Mender, or Not!Silkwing
Butterfly with a red aura (that's the difference) that flies to heal monsters. Leaves a trail of stunning mist (more difference) as it flies and when it dies at T2+, and can drop healing runes at T3 (final difference). Honestly, we don't need this one (or any new monster), but why not have a beast for every role.

Not!MechaKnight, or WereKnight
Reskinned T1 MechaKnight with a phantom's dodge. T1 because they don't have shield. Charge attack can look like Snarbolax's pin missile. In later depths, let them have a slight chance to deal a weak curse along with their charge strike (T3) and I guess more dodgy (T2+).

Beast turrets, finally

I like your idea with a bird on a perch as a turret but reskinning the other enemies takes away the purpose of different monster families.

The bird could become a boss of its own with enough cardboard boxes and giggling.

This is the beast turret I

This is the beast turret I came up with.
Chroma Turret
Like gunpuppies and howlitzers, it shoots in one direction.
Appearance: Chromalisk in a pillbox, but shock ones battery powered chromalisks. (All Tier)
T1: Single lick.
T2: Three lick spread, starting from the right.
T3: Spread of five licks, starting from the right like existing turrets.
Shock tongues would be electric, fire ones flaming, freeze ones with snowflakes and you get it.

It'd make more sense for it to spit, if it were a Chroma.

Which lizard has 5 tongues?

The frames don't have enough time. The tongue would be retracting while the next is firing, unless you want it to be super slow.

@Little-Cloud, why not make

@Little-Cloud, why not make it so in Tier 1 it's a single chromalisk, Tier 2 it's 3 chromas on top of each other, and Tier 3 it's 5 chromas on top of each other? Then you could have quick licks without having to make it appear stupidly fast. Either that or make the even-number tongues (if the one chroma option is pursued) be a ghost tongue, like the Cutter series where each swing is a normal swing and a ghost swing.

Just throwing a couple of ideas into the pool.

We don't need more chromas!

A Rooster like being that does a rapid shockwave screech projectiles. It could be like it rotates and a wave does the radius that the other turrent's projectile path acts like.

Hey, a slime

Hey, a slime mechaknight/trojan.
Goo Guardian
Looks like a pink knight in jelly mail.
Attacks: Blob Bomb, Blob Gun, Jelly Sword Combo, Jelly Sword Slam, Charge, Piercing Roots, Piercing Barbs
Freeze: Blue knight in brute jelly.
Fire: Looks like a brown knight in Oiler-type jelly mail.
Poison: Looks like a green knight in toxigel-type jelly mail.
Shock: Looks like a silver knight in quicksilver mail.
Soul: Looks like a white knight in soul jelly-type mail. 5% chance of spawning over any Goo Guardian. Cannot deal piercing unlike other goo guardians.
Void (Swarm): Looks like a black knight in void gel-type mail. Can inflict Poison. Does not drop anything because it's swarm-infested.

The shivermister could be very annoying or downright impossible to kill if he catches you off-guard. Even a full skolver user can get frozen by enemies, and with such kind of attack pattern it may lead to permanent freezing. Same for shock spams.
