Shankle/Wisp Items

The basis of this idea is not to have wisps or shankles drop items like other enemies, as they are simple to kill and this would promote the farming of them, but rather to add items based off of these two classes of enemies. It could function rather like the Masks of Seerus. Shankles/wisps would have a chance of dropping fractured, flawed, and perfect shankle/wisp plates (ie the stone with spikes atop a shankle or the metal face plate of a wisp). The drop rates would have to be balanced to not promote farming however. The type of plate dropped would depend on which tier the player was in when the drop occurred(tier 1=fractured, tier 2=flawed, tier 3=perfect). Once players acquired 3 of a certain level they could then go to a certain (new) NPC character (Just as one goes to Vise for the Masks) and have an item crafted for them.

Personally as far as what the items would be my idea was for a wisp bomb series and a shankle shield series. Just as with the masks they would be 1, 3, and 5 star. There could be a bomb for each type of status (depending on what other materials you use apart from wisp plate), although all would deal elemental damage, and a shield for each damage type (again depending on which other materials you use apart from shankle plate). Bomb could simply look like a wisp, when placed on the ground the face plate would face up and flames would face radially along the ground, and upon detonation rather than an actual explosion flames would simply expand outward to fill blast radius then retract and the wisp look alike would disappear.

The idea behind this is it would reward players who play consistently because the plate drops would infrequent enough that the only people who would in theory have them are those who play often enough to amount a high enough number of wisp/shankle kills to actually eventually acquire plates by chance, or by contrast those who don't play frequently but are willing to wait the mind numbingly boring time for every wisp/shankle they see to pause enough times for them to kill it.

All in all I'm not sure if it's something everyone would appreciate but personally I think it would be pretty neat to carry a spiked shankle plate as a shield and use a wisp as a weapon.

is actually a pretty original idea as far as I remember. Pull up some stats for the items and see if Kentard will be nice and do some art for it.

Although I don't particularly like the idea of more mist bombs when the ones we have work well

We already have elemental mist bombs for each status. And shields dont sound special either.

I mean, these items are duplicated of existing things, with at most a fancier look. Nothign new or interesting.

i would actually like a wisp bomb, just have it look like the wisp face plates as if they were forges together into a ball.

elemental damage blast is a needed bomber asset that is frankly missing, and give it fair knock back with a weak low chance status. No one wants a mist bomb skin~

For the shankle shield, i suppose that OOO star thinking of how to broaden the utility on them, shield choice is often overlooked. possibly give it the ability to damage and/or stun on bump. with the drawback of having possibly a slower shield crawl, or weakness to a certain status.

otherwise, good start. we really need to see more unique utility options... but first thing is first, we need to make sure that each weapon class has access to diverse damage choice

This is an idea I can go along with. Specialty shields are always fun ideas to play around with, after all. Dunno about the idea of a Wisp Bomb, it'd have to be need some kinda of gimmick that marks it as different to the Chemical bombs. That, and I think it should have a more interestin' design than just a simple resized Wisp.

I wouldn't mind the Wisp and Shankle's bein' made into shields. But seein' as they'd be specialty shields, maybe leave them at 3 stars, like the Swiftstrike.

Like I said those were just my thoughts for potential items. When it comes down to it, both shields sounds just as fine. Furthermore if they were made into specialty items with just one star rating (not one star but rather only come as a single item at say 3 star) they could even just be a potential direct drop from a Shankle/Wisp. I just think it would be a neat way to give some added depth to a class of enemies which are at current essentially just traps that move. It's an idea I've had floating around for awhile mainly from the original thought of having a wisp mask being cool as Alphastevo mentioned in the other thread. But when it all boils down I'd be satisfied with seeing just about any class of weapon stem off of these two, as of yet, mostly overlooked creatures.

Hm.Sounds like a pretty cool idea.Tho personally id rather have a wisp helmet or mask than a bomb or shield,though bomb would be cool also.But overall,cool idea!
