This concept is mainly about having bombs that deal high damage with some knockback, while having a low range penalty, possibly a movement speed penalty while charging. Most of these bombs have a small chance to induce status, similar to the Gravitron Vortex/Faust charge beam (or less), while they all reuse in-game graphics for their detonation animations. The purpose of these bombs would be to create more bombs that can be used for DPS, while still retaining an AoE and other support effects.

Fire, Elemental:
Creates an explosion similar to the FoV explosion of Vanaduke(fire pillar included) and leaves a dark patch of burnt oil , has a chance to inflict Fire and creates vial animation effects on detonation.

Freeze, Elemental:
Creates an explosion similar to that of the Triglav charge(shockwave and ice spikes) along with the explosion graphics of Shivermist, has a chance to inflict Freeze and creates vial animation effects on detonation.

Shock, Elemental: Sends a thunderbolt akin to Arkus's charge attack in Phase 3 unto the ground with Vana's mace/Trojan ground effect(cracks on ground, coloured cyan) along with a very short period of electricity akin to that on a Volt Driver, has a chance to inflict Shock and creates vial animation effects on detonation.

Stun, Elemental: Creates an explosion similar to a Sudaruska charge, with light pillar, rocks and ground cracks bundled together, chance of inflicting Stun and creates vial animation effects on detonation.

Poison, Piercing: Sends a large Lichen thorn piercing upwards, along with smaller thorns spreading from the centre, with a very short period of poison mist and green cracks with a slightly larger radius than the large thorn, has a chance to inflict Poison and creates vial animation effects on detonation.

Curse, Shadow:
Creates an explosion identical to Arkus's third phase, ground crystals do not deal damage or inflict status, explosion has a chance to inflict Curse and creates vial animation effects on detonation.

Elemental, Shadow and Piercing:
Blast Network Bomb, does not inflict status

Thoughts? Too OP/UP? Good/bad? This is just a concept now, so I didn't go in depth with the ideas, what do you guys think?

Nyan nyan nyan nyan....

Just normal type then? I kinda forgot about that. Idk, they did use it for OCH, but I guess its mechanism is already similar to RSS, so yeah, you could be right. I'm just throwing concepts out there, that's all.

Here I come

Yatatatatatata..

See here for an index of existing weapons in mechanics, damage, and statuses.

When it comes to bomb balancing, less status affliction means more base damage. Creating new bombs means identifying the blast radius, fuse speed, damage per hit, charge time, status rates (probability to afflict over degree of affliction; #/#), damage types, damage variation caused by having different damage types, the mechanic, balancing its damage values against existing bombs by its mechanic, and general knowledge of bombing tactics.

Element+fire:
Fang of Vog has a double edge mechanic; unless this bomb has fairly low range and rate of fire it would have a potential recoil.

Element+freeze:
Freeze is not an offensive status.

Element+shock:
Shock is a powerful status, especially when given to a bomb. Think about Voltaic Tempest.

Element+stun:
An earthquake bomb? Feasible, but not likely; we already have Troika.

Pierce+poison:
A Lichen based bomb is in another thread.

Shadow+curse:
The cursing explosion would have to have a small radius, akin to the damaging part of Vaporizer bombs at 5*.

Element+Pierce+Shadow:
Unless it only has a few bars for each at 5* this is overpowered.

None of these have mechanics. All you have are animations. Imagine building a house for a family of four and you only brought the paint.

Lick

With a small AOE, these bombs would need to do a pretty insane DPH to keep up with other bombsin terms of DPS.

What are you licking

See Nitronome versus Big Angry stats on the Wiki and my notes and notice the difference. Adding these bombs would defeat the purpose of Irontech and Big Angry, especially the curse one.
