Might be a fun thing to implement? Could pay for subscription with CE/CR?

Seems we have a disco in our guildhall but no music... and it could be fun to add a jukebox so people could share or have radio rooms etc... it might not be possible... but I have heard spotify have an API so perhaps?

Likely unfeasible due to the bandwidth requirement.

@Marlwoof

or you could store the music files on your computer

That'd require enforcing file

That'd require enforcing file consistency, which is a whole different reason altogether. If servers were hosted locally, this'd be a non issue.

What bandwidth requirement?

What bandwidth requirement? From the spotify server to individuals?

It's gotta go through the SK

It's gotta go through the SK servers first, if it's being streamed from the server to the client. You can't just have Spotify go straight to the players.

He's kinda right, in order for everyone to listen to it, the server would have to stream the music. Else only you would hear it.

I think I see what you mean,

I think I see what you mean, for everyone to listen to it at the same time (in sync) [there is a chance you might need a proxy/relay/master account in-between] but I wouldn't want to implement it like that if I was going to (defeats the point and misses the use of the music providers CDN) - I'll have a look at the API docs to see if there is some way of playing sync'd music to multiple clients.

Why couldn't you stream directly to SK clients from spotify @Marlwoof?

Edit: I did hear the API wasn't as good as some of the rival music streaming services out there.

This might be worth noting:

This might be worth noting: http://developer.rdio.com/page (appears to be a streaming API for multiple hosts? Am currently reading)

Edit: I am not implying this would be an easy feature to create, but I think it would be very cool and popular. If we step away from discussing the implementation and think about the basic features that would be a cool discussion to have I think.

I already suggested jukeboxes before when the notification came out.

Yet Three Rings isn't looking at it.

The Search button is Very Useful.

I'm glad you are all so invigorated about the new Guildhall update!

One small thing, though--you might want to check this thread before posting--it helps remove clutter.

In other words--already suggested, I'm afraid.

On the bright side, you might get inspiration from the ideas already there, so go ahead, have fun and read away!

Sorry dude, I don't really

Sorry dude, I don't really have the time to read that many suggestions in one massive post, it's really for the developers/OOO team ~ if that thread was a little more focused I could get involved and discuss individual items - having it all in one massive thread is not great for me as I rarely have time to digest information like that. In-fact I am writing this in a rush as we speak.

Glad to hear it was an idea others were interested in! Would be great to see it in!

It has already been suggested

It has already been suggested there which is great - I think the implementation suggestion could be improved as it would be better IMHO if it allowed guild members to access it and change or queue tracks without having to pay each time (altho it woud make people think more about their song choice ;-P).

Thanks for your suggestion on how I could suggest things in a suggestion post about a spotify music player :-D (its like no-1 actually wants to talk about suggestion here, just how you should suggest them and if they have been suggested already ;-P [I am joking btw - i am sure it is just because they had been suggested already])

@Tokxin:

"I think the implementation suggestion could be improved as it would be better IMHO if it allowed guild members to access it and change or queue tracks without having to pay each time (altho it woud make people think more about their song choice ;-P)."

Uh...it costs virtually nothing to play a song. The one and only reason the crown cost is there is to make it an easy, realistic way of limiting how often you can change tracks. It costs very little (5 cr if I recall correctly) and again, is only there to have a maximum crown intake per person per hour.

The reason you have a max amount of times you can change it, is so people don't click click click click away and annoy everyone.

QUEUING tracks on the other hand, is not a bad idea.

Again, since this was already suggested, there's no reason to discuss it here. It's better to discuss it where it was originally suggested instead of constantly bumping a new topic.

I just personally prefer

I just personally prefer paying one-off for things like that, but ye 5cr is a cheap suggestion - I am not sure that would actually be the cost to the PRS, streaming servers etc... so it may end up being more expensive in a pay-per-track instance (will depend on usage I am sure).

I disagree about discussing suggestions in multiple places - it's fantastic to concatenate all the suggestions to one thread (I am sure it is very helpful for OOO) but I personally do not have time to read through pages of it and would have (and have) missed a lot of suggestions because of the colossal nature of that post.

Very nice of you guys to put the time in, I am sure they appreciate the help.
