As I have a fan freaking enormous amount of annoying crystals that I don't spamming my inventory, I wish to rectify this. What about making it possible to convert crystals of lower quality into those of higher quality, due to refinery? It could be balanced, and here is why... To refine 1 higher level heat crystal (say, shining crystals to radiant crystals) would take 5 shining crystals to make 1 radiant crystal. So 20 shining crystals would only make 4 radiant crystals. Definitely a large price to pay, but considering I'm only going to be trying to heat a certain star weapon of weapon at a time, I think it is worth it. Also, breaking down higher level crystals to lower level crystals. For example, 1 radiant crystal, if broken down, yields only 3 shining crystals. Again, a tough price to pay but completely worth it if i'm focusing on only leveling a certain starred weapon.
Now, for the mineral refinery. As you know, shards are common and you only need a few to craft weapons. They aren't worth much and you'll slowly accumulate many more than you'll ever need...Until now. Now, you'll be able to convert your mineral shards into actual minerals by the same process of refinery! The conversion rate of the minerals is 5-1, so for every 5 shards, you'll earn 1 of that mineral type. That translates into 125 shards per 25 minerals, which sounds like a steep price to pay, but what the heck. You'll actually be able to use your useless shards.
I like the idea of breaking and refining fire crystals. Although this has been suggested many times. Especially from Zeed--Uh Zeddy.
As for converting your mineral shards into actual minerals, have a look at this.
