Introduction (can be skipped)
Lately I have come to think that it really doens't matter to much what bugs there are or what things need to be balanced. As time passes you see ever less fixes or changes on items the people would want to have changed. So if nothing is moving in that department, why not clog the suggestion forum with something that might actually appeal to OOO? And with "appeal" I mean hard cash making items that need absolutly no balancing and are purely aesthetic.
And I think we all agree that everything is better than those fugly reskins where you paint something green and call it "hunter".

The Origin
While playing I have had more than once the privileg of watching my little knight shake his hips as he walked up the screen. And while seeing him, rocking his body like he had soiled his pants, I thought to my self: What the hell?
Then, at times, I use a sword. I charge, the knight hiding his sword under his arm, I release and he? He takes the sword from under his arm, moves it over his shoulder and attackes overhead. ... Overly complicated, don't you think?

The Idea
Until now you have no idea, what I actually want to suggest but I guess you can imagine, what I am going for.
The item(s) could be applied to the armor to change the players stance when wearing it. Walking, how you hold your weapon, maybe even how you charge your weapon. A possible example that came to mind rather quickly, given that OOO is owned by Sega, were fleeting steps like Shadow the Hedgehog, just to give a general idea. Or imagine to walk like a ninja with quick, narrow steps. Goodness, that sounds awfully cheesy. Maybe, just for the lulz, walking like a little girl, skipping steps. To add up on the Heavenly and Infernal promo of late, how about levitating? That would sell.
To charge your weapon, regardless of sword or gun, hold it straight above your head to be extra flashy.
Maybe strike a less comical death pose?

Is it manageable?
In fact, this question gave me no struggle, as it would be no problem for the combat. The knight frame (haha, see what I did there?) exists outside of the world we play in. What we actually play with is nothing but a mere Hitbox that interacts with walls, hits and objects. You can observe that best when you play Battle Network. Try walking along a wall and see how well that works for you. Also, for all non-BN players, you might as well have noticed that your character never actually reacts on his surroundings. Going up the stairs, being hit or hitting a wall. No reaction.
So all this item would change is the model within the box, minimizing the necessary programming work. Also, lifting objects could stay the same, because what would you want to change about that?

Afterword
Constructive criticism is encouraged, approval would be nice, too. Everything else I can not prevent, so why even bother trying.

A new stance would be a good idea, but I'd hate to see this end up in CE purchases and having RF's sell it at blown out prices in the Auction House. If it were me: keep it free for players and be able to change it at will.

or have 3 (including the defaults) available in NPC stores and the others would be box items.

I was thinking of having a (Fighting) Style coach NPC who teaches swag (just as Bechamel is a fashion coach).

+1 from me for this suggestion

but can i add something?
the customizations would be divided based on weapon, each with a fighting (stand) stance, running (with weapon) stance, and a charging (a matching standing and while walking) stance. so that would be 3*3 = 9 stances.
add to that a shielding stance, a sit stance, and a death stance, totalling 12 combat stances you can modify...
we can also add an idle standing stance (the one when we are at haven)

we cant modify the way the attack is done though since its basically the "style" of that specific weapon...

for end game players like me with almost everything already, the game gets tiring...
customization items though draw many 'ye old' players to continue

CROWNSINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

150,000 crowns for a few basic ones and leave the rest in Silver Lockies. :3
Creating a new player does not give you this selection, or if it does, at least give us a "free stance change" ticket.

WALKING STANCES

Happy-Chappy Jogger
Lift those knees up high with each step and tilt your head up all snobby, like you're the fittest person on Cradle and everyknight else must bow down to your 32GB jogging-music-only iCrashPod.

Orange Jumpsuit Guy
Arms straight out behind your back, lean forward a ridiculously unbalanced amount and dash like some sort of not-really-stealthy person. Comes complete with your choice of silly headband.

Paedophile Magnet
Skip along and get those tailed-helm's swingin', and let everyone know you're the cutest and most innocent knight around. What's that, I have candy in my van? I also have ponies and Barby dolls, come along with me!

Pure Discipline
March, two, three, four, now is time to go to war!
Five, six, seven, eight, keep in line and make it straight!
Nine comes before the ten, get back here and start again!

Unnnnnnnnnnnnn
For the quiet, reserved Knight who loves to do nothing more than sit in an awkward cross legged position for hours on end and mysteriously hover everywhere. Annoying humming noises are optional.

Horsless Walk
That's right, you dont' have a horse, but you wish you did. So much so that you're willing to pretend that you're riding one all around the clockworks, while some wierd but strangely familiar asian music plays in the background.

Spread Them
No, not them, lol. These. Fly my pretty. Especially if you're too lazy for your feet to touch the ground. Let your reptilian or somewhat celestial wings do all the hard work for you! But not too high, otherwise you might end up in the stuff in the sky, the stuff that causes country-loving nasal tapeworms to commit suicide.

Civilian "Walk"
Now this is getting silly. Please do something like cap the point instead of sliding around like a useless moron.

Power Walk
Take long confident strides because you have places to go and you're a very important person. Comes free with a suitcase! (See bottom two rows)

Legstrong Walk
Take long leaping bounds because one day when you grow up into a big knight you want to be an astronaut and to go into outer space. Owait. Also, please explain to me why Cradle has gravity identical to Earth's? And somehow stun allows Zombies to gain ridiculous air-time?

Walk of the Hated
No-one likes a roller. But we need people to do it so that we have someone to bash. As an incentive to roll everywhere, it supports 007 accessories

Hurltastic Walk
Because who doesn't love constant spinning?

Sideways roll Remember when

Sideways roll
Remember when you were a kid and you used to roll off of hills? Well, be the knights who looks like a complete idiot and rolls sideways. Everywhere.

I am a robot from the future. I am here to take American jobs.
You know those things called knees and elbows? Don't use them. Walk like a robot instead.

This sure is thriller.
Glide backwards even though it looks like you are walking forward!

Handyman
You just lost a bet and now you have to walk around the clockworks on your hands. Good thing you know how to hold a sword with your feet!

Personally

Personally, I'd rather having a working, balanced game rather than an unbalanced game, far-strayed from its original idea but patched over with short term solutions to keep people happy for a while but ultimately just delaying the inevitable tweaking and balancing to be done.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is a bad idea, there are lot of really good ideas that are populating the suggestions forum, but I think there's a core issue regarding Three Rings' relationship with SEGA that limits Three Rings from dealing with issues that don't interest SEGA and the company's investors.
That whole "we could lose Spiral Knights" issue needs to be dealt with before we risk running this game into the ground and prevent any more patches from being implemented.

I agree, but what are you saying? We can't have good ideas until a problem we can't really control is fixed?

Nope

I'm saying that we have a good pool of ideas among the suggestions forum, but if we don't bring bigger/core issues into the awareness of all those concerned then Three Rings will continue to take silly orders from SEGA and so will continue to add things like Accessories and Battle Sprites and other things we don't need to concern ourselves with yet. If they have strong intentions to add them in for whatever reason then so be it, but I don't want Spiral Knights to be patched so far from it's original idea that it becomes an entirely different game and it's not far off the way we're headed. Things like Accessories and Battle Sprites are clearly aimed at a younger audience supporting the "cater to the new players" idea further alienating the Veterans which where the energy behind what made the game solid in the first place.

I get it that SEGA is pretty up there and there may not be much we can do, non a sub-corporate level, other than being a Three Rings or SEGA CEO or an investor, but if we shove these big problems into the corner and keep putting them off it's only going to get worse. The longer core problems stick around the more people will leave and get sick of a broken game and considering the amount of veterans that left, I think that's a clear pointer they should seriously consider their choices of who they want to cater to even if we throw SEGA's intentions out the window for a moment so they could show us who they're really dedicated and loyal to; SEGA or thier playerbase.

P.s. I am Klipik to avoid any possible confusion

I don't think anyone's trying to downplay the big threads about the state of the game, here or in GD. It's just that we can't be expected to drop everything and have everyone only focus on the threads going on and on about how the game needs to be fixed. Again, I'm not saying anything bad about those threads, I've contributed to several of them. But, as Gametrekker and others have said, we can only get so far by throwing our opinions out in the forums. Keeping those threads in the front page is good for them so we don't forget, but SK life goes on, at least for now. It just needs to be kept somewhere in everyone's minds that all these suggestions should be put on the back burner until the core issues are fixed. As for Battle Sprites, I don't expect them to stop work on a project of that size that's presumably already far along in development. As I've said here, I think it would be best to finish the Sprites, make sure they work, and get them out, and then set about the arduous task of balancing and fixing two years worth of minor and major mistakes. No point in having half-developed content sit around in the office, might as well finish it first. Otherwise it's development time wasted on money they're not making.

I understand your concern Razorlined, but read the introduction in the OP. This thread is nearly 6 month old and in this six months nothing has changed. And i wrote this thread when there had already been nearly a year without anything happen. By now I pretty much have lost any hope that we'll see a useful Magnus or a usable Spur - or my idea for player made rooms.
So why not push something that might even make it? (...might even make it?)
