Hello, Everyone. The ۞ The Dragon Princess ۞ (ty, Tevokkia) was recently challenged by Admin and Community Manager Eurydice to “do something useful.”

Probably nearly every day we are witnesses to acts of kindness and helpfulness by other knights. It may be something as small as helping out with a mission or tabbing someone through the last level of a run, or just giving someone some materials or a weapon out of the generosity of their heart, or maybe even some random act of kindness much bigger or a general pattern of helpfulness.

This Good Samaritan Appreciation thread is a place to recognize these good deeds and players. Please refrain from praising yourself, but share stories of friends or strangers you witnessed being Good Samaritans.

I just typed out this long

I just typed out this long essay of people, and then I was going to hit post and accidently deleted my typing :3
*sigh* Here we go again.

Leafchime
I met Leafchime when I had 2 star gear in a Royal jelly Palace run. After the run, Leafchime helped me out right from the beginning by giving me some 3 star gear. I had no idea what this was, so I equipped it and found out how good it was. Leafchime also gave me a weapon slot, some crowns, and a lot of tips on how to get better at the game. Those tips greatly enhanced my gaming experience, so I thank him for that.

En-Jay-Tee-Hug, Njthug
Njthug is one of my favoritestest players in the game, even though he hates me. <3 I joined his guild, Echo of Silence, when I was still in 4 star gear, and that guild was the reason why I kept playing this game. Nj has helped me with things like runs, unbinding fees (since I'm too poor to afford it :P), and tips on the game. He has made a huge influence on my gaming experience, and I enjoyed talking with him while I was in the game.

Those are my top two. I have a few more that I will list when I have time :)

EDIT: Ah, yes. Tevokkia!

Tevokkia
Tev help the Great Big Contest awhile ago when I was still on leave. SHe is a very skilled artist that is quite nice and friendly. Can't wait to attempt to participate in this summer's contest :D

My good friend Krakob very generously donated me a double-UV autogun. My Volcanic Pepperbox with high construct, undead low is one of my most used weapons to date. During the Black Kat Grindyfest, which is the event's official name, he also gave away a Book of Dark Rituals to Fehzor, whose slim chances to find one on her own were putting her to distress.

More important than any of that is the countless hours of adventure and good times he's shared with me. Here's to many more, little buddy!

Soral is a champ. When I was gathering the GTH damage numbers, he probably contributed like 60% of them. That's not to say I'm not very much grateful to the other contributors, but he was by far the biggest one.

I know you won't read this, Possiblyspy, but I won't easily forget the brief time you spent under the wing of my guild. Hours after joining, you'd found a dozen black kats, handed over CE to your fellow members so they could join for kat raids even after they'd ran out of mist, and put more in guild treasury than I could possibly expect from you after such a short time. You left after a couple of days because my guild had a shortage of new players you could help out, and I hope that whatever new guild you found, they give you the respect and admiration you deserve.

Nick, Ian, Boswick and the rest of Three Rings Design, for creating this game. It is utterly unique, and any flaws or screwups associated with it haven't been enough to deter me from it even after nearly two years. The game has a chunky feel to it that I feel is rare even amongst offline action games. What it may lack in balance, it more than makes up for in charm and pure fun.

/e gives thanks

Ncks : You may not know her, seeing that she plays on the asian server more then on the main server, but she is a really kind soul, she buys ce on a regular basis, and runs a CE shop, selling CE for a price lower than the current price on the asian server's CE market price. She would desposit millions of crowns for the guild to buy furniture (aka : SNIPES! <3) and would also lend the newbies in the guild crowns and CE to craft their items. She would also come to the aid of solo-ers that die in their runs, and give the 2-3* players in our guild the materials they need to craft their 3*/4* items.

Unknown Person under the alias of 'serpent' and 'santa' : He generously gave away items such as Sealed swords with ASI med and CTR high to my guild members during christmas , along with varying amounts of CE. He also gave out 100 CE to each of us the guild during Chinese New Year. No one in the guild knows his identity, but if he/she sees this thread, i would like to say a sincere 'Thank you' to him/her.

Myrtle :
The best Guild Master I've ever had. She didn't only help me in Clockworks and Missions, she also handed me her Gran Faust, which was the first weapon I got unbinded. I also won't forget how she helped getting better in LD, or even motivating me to play better. Thanks Myrt!
.
.
Prophe :
How can I forget that Old Man... He is the one that taught me how to do The Striker Style in LD. He was the opponent that I looked up for, and worked very very hard to beat him someday. The Mighty Ol' Pepe.
.
.
Nateblacksmith :
Dat Bomber. Not only he lent me a dozen of crowns many time and without returning them, but he taught me how to use the damn RSS... Argh, memories.
.
.
Neometal :
Also helped me achieve one of my many dreams in SK. I can't even count the things he helped me with. Thanks Neo!
.
.
Hitsublast :
Mitsu helped me getting the magical prismatic Valkyrie Wings. Loads and Trains of thanks for you!
.
.
Robetrog :
For selling the Valkyrie Wings for such a cheap price. Can't forget this from him, thanks!
.
.
.
I probably forgot some people, forgive me please!
If I remember anyone later, I am going to post again.

Note: Way to go Mawashimono. Keep up like this.

BigHondo, one of the coolest

BigHondo, one of the coolest LD players I've ever met. We played some games together, on the same team and opposing teams, and had a great time. Afterward, we were messing around with costumes to use with LD Bombheads. We both had Lovely Bombheads with Jelly Suits, though he had a Love Aura (At the time, probably ~150K value). I definitely couldn't afford that, so he just up and gave me one of his.

Shortly thereafter I realized he had left Spiral Knights. You will be missed, Hondo.

Digicom, my Guild Master. I always list him up here because even though I know he's filthy rich and probably has nothing better to do with his CE (I'm messin', Digi), he gives a lot of CE away all the time in our Guild. We have a constant lottery going on for 1K CE to the winner, occasional Art contests that award ~10K CE, and he was a massive contributor to making our Guild Hall massive from the primordial days of the Guild Hall patch.

Xi-Mi-Oi, likely unbeknownst to anyone reading, donated some 2K CE to me for crafting my first 5* set waaayyy back. He's also filthy rich, if you were curious...though I'm not sure at the time how much he had. He currently now owns every piece of gear in the game (Except Darkfang Shield and I think a bomb or two), and most the costumes.

I might have forgotten to mention them, but thanks to Zeddy I didn't:

OOO Developers for building the Guild Hall Updates especially, which I put a lot of effort into to try and make it happen. Props to them for incorporating Upkeep and Mist Wells, which were all their ideas. It was like a dream come true. Other than that, for developing this game of course...I don't play as often anymore, but for a while it was a great source of free entertainment, and now it's a great source for occasional social interaction.

Finally I'm gonna put these great folks in here as well, though they didn't donate anything materialistic, their time is just as valuable. These people helped a lot in the maintenance, creation, and upkeep of my 1st Guild Hall thread.

Mwahahaha, Hexzyle, Psychodestroyer, Skold-The-Drac, Skyber, Triplescrew, Mirtsmak, Isenfir, Klipik, Hmmnm, Darkbrady, Schattentag and many more. Thanks guys!

Even though I'm the nicest person ever...

I'd like to thank:

Taketh for taking me on my first Vanarun while I was still three star.
Stane for giving me a ASI low flourish.
Tdlob for giving me troikas and giving me plenty of commissions.
Damienfoxy for giving me many commissions as well as many other things.
Anyone who tabbed me, revved me, commissioned me, or helped me on a danger mission and others who've slipped my tired little brain.

Playing against my guild for some rando GVG, when suddenly a bombhead pops up. They threw the game so that the new LD players on my team (there were 4 who didnt have bombheads...) could have some. Great sports, and great guild.

The Nights Watch and all. From big things like keeping me active in the game to little things like dropping a few CE in to make crafting faster, these guys have been the greatest guild a knight could call home!

More specifically...
Lycheesoup and Perronius I remember seeing you guys for the first time in T2 LD; I added Lychee after a match. Boy was I surprised when I joined TNW and realized he was my Guild Master! Similar deal with Perro. You guys are great, a pleasure to be around, and arguably the nicest knights on Cradle.

Captain-Achilles This brah invited me into the guild after a Roarmulus run oh so long ago. He's been a great friend, and LD with him has been a pleasure.

Psychodestroyer To be honest, I know Psycho only from forum posts and guild chat; I don't think I've ever run a mission with him. But the Psycho I know is a wonderful player, poster, and person overall.

Out of guild now...
Tdlob Your Troika design competition was a blast, and the prize CE really helped me get off of my 3* up to Vanguard. Thanks a ton man!

EDIT: OH MY VOG PERRO I ACTUALLY DID NOT SEE YOU ABOVE ME WHAT AHH

Oh, well, Romans 12:18

No one is just bad or good. We are all a mix of both. If we can't do anything about behavior we consider bad (or even discuss it on the forums (and that post was really more about employees who are players, and thank you to Eury for her extensive and reassuring answers)), at least we can encourage behavior we consider good. Please do that here by thanking people for their generosity and acts of kindness. I've edited the original post, however, so people won't feel there's any tension in the thread.

Etendue was kind enough to give me a considerable amount of CE; we met in Haven when I made a bit of a joke advertisement in /2 trade, and things kind of kicked off from there. He's an awesome player who was good enough to help me out whilst I was still a new player, and although I don't see him that often any more due to the new Asian server, I do miss him. ._.

A quick comment from a good friend

People who suddenly show good character after being widely ridiculed for throwing tantrums and lying to the community by pretending to be someone theyre not are definitely Good Samaritans! Although many may think there are ulterior motives behind people who do this, I personally believe making threads like this is a genuine effort and a sportsman-like way for shamed people to redeem themselves. Kudos to all you good Samaritans out there in SK. Youre all awesome :)

Trolling a guild in their out-of-game forums is not "lying to the community," but pretending to be an employee of the company when you are not is.
