Have a suggestion for Spiral Knights? We would like to hear it.

Enemies should be hurt by spikes

One thing that drives me nuts is when an enemy with a ranged attack, especially Gremlin Healers, go and hide in brambles or spikes so that I have to take a bunch of unavoidable damage to go deal with them, less they keep using Heal: Target on bunch of gremlins I'm trying to kill.

Even if they didn't take damage, at least program them not to camp in areas we have to take damage to walk through.

Poison and Us

Okay,

Since we're now seemingly running into more Poison enemies I want to talk about this status ailment.

Against Players:

This status ailment is brutal. Second only to Fire in terms of group ending potential.

You can't heal or be healed. This is quite bad by itself.

The other problem is it can be applied even if you block. Which really. REALLY doesn't make sense. Especially when it from the poison spoocats. I blocked it. it hit the square of my shield. I took no dmg. I have 20 resist. Why do I get poisoned nearly every time. That is really quite backwards.

Change armor color (or any color, for that matter)

So most of you have hopefully tried out bombs by now, and then most likely switched back to your main weapon. I wanted to type something up to maybe see what the community thinks we can do to make bombs a more viable weapon instead of "situational" or "weaker" weapon type that won't be used as much. However, with further personal testing, Crystal bombs are very much viable as a main weapon as long as you are using charge time gear (as explained further down).

I like the new system for leveling weapons via heat: it's fun to see items develop, and really encourages people to keep using different weapons as they develop their arsenals.

However, I've noticed that for a given amount of heat in a level, items seem to level at the same rate, no matter how many items are involved in leveling. (my blaster doesn't level any faster if every other piece of equipment is maxed out already)

I think allowing people to choose a directory for their pictures and the format they're saved in would be a pretty handy feature.

I'm almost afraid to suggest this because it's so cliche, but it would be really nice to have a place to buy/sell/trade items. I'd be more likely to spend more energy crafting stuff if I could track down that one missing material in the recipe.

Can randomly generated floors have a climax?

I'm not sure how the random floor generator works, but I'd love to see more floors that ramp up in difficulty. Start easy; end tough. Right now, I often find that the toughest part of a floor is somewhere in the middle. Getting to the exit doesn't consistently feel like a feat of skill. It would be cool to always include a +difficulty room and a +loot room right before the end of each floor.

Blocking shouldn't move you back

I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in Bug Reports because I don't know if it's intended behaviour or not. Perhaps it is an issue that only players with higher pings experience.

When blocking an attack, sometimes i will get stopped or even moved back a little bit. This can be seen most clearly on floor spikes; if you try to cross a little late, and then put your shield up, you basically just have to stand there until either the spikes go down or your shield breaks. If you try to move you just get knocked back.

Window size for Spiral Knights: NOT my screen size

Please, do not do the same disaster as Bang Howdy here.

A screen resolution of 1024x768 does not mean a window resolution of that size.

Bang Howdy originally permitted going into the proper plist file, and changing the size; things worked. Then, it refused to work with less than a full sized screen.

720 vertical works nicely. I don't mind dismissing the dock. But I cannot dismiss that menu bar on the top. And no, Macs and full-screen Java just don't go well together.

Specific suggestion: Let the user specify a window size separate from the screen resolution.
