****** Spiralstory, Deeper *******
Prologueish Thingy:
It was a beautiful day.
Brimley had just finished training. He felt great. He couldn’t wait to get assigned to a team and finally go into the clockworks.
“Hey Brim! You wanna tour Haven with me!”
“Sure, yeah, just a sec.” He really didn’t want to spend any more time with the other recruits. He wanted to meet other knights, heroic knights. He wanted to meet the big ones. The ones he was told about.
He spied a couple of knights wearing what seemed to be quality armor, and went over there to talk to them.
“Hey look! A proto!” They snickered.
“Why don’t you show us your fighting style!” Brim was surprised. Maybe they would help him at fighting. He slashed with want he thought to be amazing speed. They laughed.
“Watch out! He might cut some butter with his proto sword!” They burst out, their roaring laughter piercing the relative silence of Haven.
“Hey! Leave the kid alone!”
Brim turned and saw a lone figure. The knights just laughed louder, but ceased as the sole figure drew his sword. The blade glistened like glass, reflecting the knight’s face.
“It’s just one knight.” The leader said, rallying his followers. “We can take him on, easily.” But one of his friends took a step back in the shock of this weapon, this blade of ice, casually held as though the knight thought he wouldn’t even break a sweat in the fight to come.
“He said, leave the kid alone.” Another knight was right behind them. He carried a blade that looked as though a Flourish became wicked, jet-black with a glowing red tip. The knights jumped forward, but their leader was still confident of their success.
“Only two, and we’re better armed anyways.” His comrades looked at him in disbelief at the latter comment.
They began to advance, when a bomber that jumped out of nowhere stopped one, passing a bomb that Brim hadn’t seen before between his hands. The knight fell back in surprise, scrambling away. Another jumped as a bullet hit the ground in between his legs.
“That was on purpose.” A gunner stepped up, a crazy grin upon his face. The knights paused, unsure of themselves. They still outnumbered their surrounders, but still, it wasn’t seven on one anymore.
“Just leave him alone.” They whirled upon a wolver grinning at them. Okay, now they were just a bit scared.
“Yeah Haden, just leave the kid alone.” It was a knight in full Azure Guardian Armor. It was Kort. One of the big ones.
The vulgar knights backed away, obliviously terrified.
“Hey Kort,” The original knight began. “Can I deal with it?”
“Sure Frost, just don’t make it… messy.”
In knight trudged towards the middle of the group, the others spreading as far from him as possible.
“You! Yeah uh… Haden! You and me! Right here, right now!” The leader inched forward, his gaze shooting fire at his so-called “friends”.
They met each other in the center of the circle of knights surrounding them. Haden made a lunging attack, but Frost was completely ready, knocking the sword away from his opponent. Haden’s chest was wide open, but Frost didn’t counter-attack, he just poked the now angry knight in the chest, sending him tumbling.
It went on like that for a while until Haden was visibly boiling with anger. He flung himself forward upon Frost, flinging his sword around at Frost, slamming everything he had into his blade. But Frost never took the saber full on, just knocked it away.
Finally Haden collapsed with tiredness. Frost prodded him a couple of times with his sword, then turned and said. “Okay everyone, you can disperse! Come on, nothing to see anymore!”
Brim turned and saw a fairly large crowd surrounding them. Most of them shuffled away, and the rest went along with their business. The figure stepped up to him sheathing his sword.
“Fresh out of training?” He asked.
“Erm.. Yes s-sir.”
“Why don’t you come with us, we’re on a mineral gathering mission in an hour, could always use an extra hand with the monsters… uh,”
“Brimley sir!”
“Oh yes- Brimely!”
“No uh-sir it’s Brimley.”
“How ‘bout Brim.” The bomber said, walking up to them.
“Yeah, uh-Brim’s fine.”
This sounds good. A few spelling errors, otherwise great!
