No no no. 1..4 are phial buttons :3
Battle Sprites and other updates
I wonder if they created any concepts for any other sprites. if anyone has anything leaked on this please notify me! also
BOGGLE CRUNCH
I was gonna choose the party buffer sprite... but it's a cat.
Well, I guess I'm goin with the shadow crippler :D
@Diamondshreddie Is there something wrong with a cat? D:
I wanna go with the cat. :D
We are all very excited about Battle Sprites(obviously) but I do have a few big question about it that I hope someone can answer or provide more information on *cough* Nick.
I haven't noticed any additions on to the main spiral knights story recently, The Crimson Order, The Core, and of course the secret identity of the strangers.
Will the Battle Sprite update(s) contribute to the main story regarding the ultimate goal of opening the core?
Nick previously said that a big part of the Lab's function will have to do with Battle Sprites, I assume that the main way to feed sprites or view their evolution progression.
What will be some of or any of the functions of the lab regarding Battle Sprites and what will the other non battle sprite function be?
Any speculation, tiny facts, or total answering of these two big questions of mine would greatly be appreciated ^^
did someone make you notice that this is a kind of necro? no? well, I did.
as for the questions: these are the main questions of the community. you may want to wait until nick showes up.
Doesn't matter if it's a necro, it's a thread with a large slice of information from Nick, so it deserves to be somewhere where people can see it.
i'd want a dragon covering my blinds side, JUST SAYIN.
Since Battle Sprites are an extension of the knight's abilities, they are likely going to be added to Lockdown, unless they directly conflict with the current shield modules.
@Nick
Will BS abilities be in a fixed order in the commands?
If I may explain. So suppose I have a Drakon and a Seraphynx.
Drakon's abilities are (just for the purpose of this question) - 1)Blast 2)Spam 3)Shock
Seraphynx's abilities are - 1)Shadow Defense Up 2)Fire Resist Up 3)Pin
And here's my playing style with Drakon: I use Shock the most, Blast occasionally, and pretty much never use Spam.
With Seraphynx: I use Shadow Defense Up the most, Pin often, and rarely use Fire Resist Up.
So could I switch around the order of the abilities so that
Drakon is now 1)Spam 2)Blast 3)Spam?
Seraphynx is now 1)Shadow Defense Up 2)Pin 3)Fire Resist Up?
The reason I ask this is because I don't have nice gaming gear with a bunch of buttons that can easily be reached. So with my current setup, I have two keys that I could teach myself to use easily in combat. This means that one of the three abilities (I believe you said they would have three) is going to have to get the short stick in getting used in combat, and I'd like to be able to choose which one. I know some people are just going to be "whatever" about this, but I want to be able to switch BSs without reconfiguring my commands to use them effectively.

I think your over thinking this a little bit.
-Glitchedpixel
I might. But haven't you ever fumbled over some weird control scheme?
Yes its called "Too Human" for the Xbox 360. Wierdest control scheme ive ever used. Right control stick is sad cause it doesn't understand how to be used for combat.
You bring up a good point...will it be in the 123 fashion you said or maybe something like you set the skill along with your gear before hand and can only use that one skill via one key until you change it to a different skill. Or...maybe you hit a key to switch the skill your using like you would to switch weapons and hit a key to fire it...Selector key & Fire key...you need two for your scheme so that would work...What is the control scheme gonna be though <.> Several possibilities.
@Exelius
Um, I wouldn't like that (selector and fire keys). Then I'd have to take three keystrokes to go from my second-most-used to my most-used. I think the three keys option is best. I mean, if I really need to use that third ability I can always stop moving to press "g" or something.
Also, another question for nick:
Will we get a "fire early for a penalty" option? So if the recharge time is ten seconds, could we have the option of firing at nine seconds for 80% power or something like that?
I mean vials aren't even that useful. Soloing would be easy.
I've always wondered what the lab would be used for. Now I have my answer.
With all the current SK controls, plus the three sprite abilities and [the new stuff in the keybindings on the preview server], how long before controller users run out of buttons?
I just realized Sprites are just a carbon copy of MAGs from PSO
That's what I've been telling everyone from day one Neodasus! >.<
@Klipik-Forum
More importantly, how much longer will it be before people start forgetting which key does what? XD
About the movement of the sprite..
if they can be moved to a different location?
Like they fly around a knight?
just curious :3
What I'm getting from this is that sprites are going to be the equivalent of "skills" in mmo games... Just a more interesting way to implement them (Which is why theyre not just weapons). My guess is that they will be activated with the number keys 1-0.
Also I call the ghosty :3c its adorable
