I am half tempted to point out the REAL slime here. Oh, well.
@Mawashimono you said "keep reading" in an earlier post. I'm presuming that was directed at your little group of cronies who practically worship The Dragon Princess chronicles.

Just a reminder guys, stick to the forum guidelines. We don't want anyone to start making personal attacks or naming calling.
All right, what's going on? Why are you still angry?
Hey, if you hate her story and her manipulative nature just as much as I do, then ignore it. But do keep in mind though, all girls are like that, we are nothing more than the pawns of their fantasy.
"Well, doesn't the same apply for the opposite sex? Aren't women the object of your own fantasy?" - some female gamer
...And how does that justify your manipulation? If you are saying that all human are potential control freaks, then yeah, I totally agree with you, who out there doesn't want to be Kings or Queens?
@ Valorai I never said WHO I was thinking of. Could have been Mawashimono, coulda been the Dragon Princess, heck, it could have been me!
@ Thinslayer Your smart. Figure it out.
@ Midnight-Dj That is a despicable generalization. Don't ever say that again. It makes you sound like a deep south redneck who may or may not be affiliated with the Klu Klux Klan.
Okay not I feel a little offended here. I am from that part of the South-east United States, You need to check your self Malkalack, its going to get you in trouble. I am not threating I am just saying you need to calm down and ignore this Post if your getting so heated about it.

...who is generalizing now? -.- ....
I was saying you are fulfilling a cliché, and sounding like a sexist moron. Being totally honest here.
Darkwatck, you said that Southerners have: "deep seated hates" and "drink their brains out". So you cannot really be getting offended here.
Can we just drop it? I don't think this quarrel is going to get us anywhere. It's certainly not convincing anybody of anything, and all it's succeeding in doing is antagonizing the other players.
And how am I sexist? I said that both man and woman are manipulative by nature, are you saying that you never wanted to have control over something? No, the truth is, we all wanted to rule the world, regardless of our gender.
I really hope not.
Thanks for everyone's part 1 contributions. They were great. It's a little intimidating to be working with such talented writers. I've got to step up my game!
By now you've received your objectives for the part 2 posts. I'll be away for the weekend, but 2 days from the time of this post I hope to post the set up scene for part 3 and then send out your in-game mail containing your unique objectives for part 3. It'll be Krogmo's melee arena battle if you want to start thinking about it a bit.
I just have to say, I'm really, really enjoying this style of interactive writing. I hope some of those forumers who weren't able to participate in this one will at least be able to enjoy the story. I'm fairly certain we'll be doing more of this "Game Master" style of role-play writing in the future.
Not everyone wants to be ruler of da world. I certainly don't, in charge of everything? Dealing with everyone's problems? How about no. :P
Malkalack is new to the roleplaying community. His behavior in no way represents us.
I'm glad you're enjoying this style of writing! It really is great fun when it works. I think you would benefit from seeing other forum roleplaying games in acton; below is a list of some of the better ones.
Times Have Changed
Hours Till Midnight
Return to Cradle: Origins
This whole conflict kind of killed RPing for me. I was considering doing it as an aside to my art, but really right now I feel like there are certain people who are making the treasure vault environment really toxic right now.
I know not all of you are bad, but as a non-RPer, this isn't very nice to watch at all.
I RP a lot on another site :D
Thinslayer's been there, so maybe we could do a three-way RP?
Also, Malkalack isn't new to RPing or anything, but his own RPs are really just posts to spam the living dead out of the Gremlin Chatter. Think of claiming yourself as a king of sporks and go on an epic crusade against spades while typing "DEATH TO ALL SPADES" all across the message boards.
Those are the types of RPs Malkalack does, so I wouldn't find it unexpected to see him get angry after being rejected to a free-form RP with an actual structure to it.
@ Feline-Grenadier
That RP is my business, not yours. I just dont think anyone enjoys being rejected, especially by this pretentious type of RP. I do not want to participate, I put thought into my characters and dont want them to be used as essential redshirts by Mawashimono. I am simply pointing out that Mawashimono is excluding people. This is why things are toxic, this is just a slap in the face.
@ Mawashimono
Your hurt feelings are not my concern.
P.S.
I doubt that watching other people play will cause people to: "continue enjoy reading"
Some roleplays are actually a very enjoyable read. That was what enticed me to join the RP "Times Have Changed," back when it was open. And I often enjoy re-reading Return to Cradle and the prequel Return to Cradle: Origins.
But you got to join. Big difference. What I was getting at, is that people will not enjoy being excluded, and there will be a feeling of: "that could have been ME up there" every time they read it. Not exactly a great feeling.
Follow that to its logical conclusion. I'm getting a lot of points from you, but no conclusion.
*People don't enjoy rejection/exclusion.
*You don't want your thoughtful characters to be wasted.
On the face of it, you sound like you're conflicted. On the one hand, you don't want to join because you think your characters will be wasted, but on the other hand, you don't like rejection either. You can't stand joining in and you can't stand getting left out, which would normally pose an insolvable problem unless the roleplay were designed differently from the outset, making it so you would want to join and wouldn't get left out.
In other words, you think Mawa could have designed this RP better.
Am I close?
I thought you might like to know a little bit about how this will play out.
There will be 10 chapters.
2 set up chapters
5 main action chapters. In 4 of those each of our characters will have a turn as the featured character / writer.
3 - concluding chapters where we wrap up some business before saying our farewells.
So it's a novel with rules. And you were too lazy to either make an ACTUAL rp, or you just wanted story ideas from other people.
May I remind you of the Terms of Service?
You need to stop.
Part 3 – For Krogmo’s entertainment and profit, and in order to win from him the information that we need, we will fight in the most lopsided melee arena ever seen, full of bosses, mini-bosses and the deadliest kinds of monsters. Each of us will describe the battle from their character’s perspective. We will emerge victorious, but each of us will receive a severe injury that will affect our character throughout the story. As this is a melee arena battle, focus mainly on your character’s fight but be sure to include some interaction with the other characters as well.
The nature of your individual injuries are described below. Please fit them into your description of the battle.
Part 3 objectives
Thinslayer (Astran)
You will be cursed by a Phantom, and although the curse will wear off externally, internally, you will struggle with a growing darkness inside you. Your increased sensitivity and insight into Phantoms will play a key role in Part 4.
Feline-Grenadier (Antworker) (Vin)
You will lose your left eye, which will be replaced by a specially enhanced cybernetic Helm-Mounted Display eye which will allow you to see things that other knights cannot see, which will play a key role in Part 5.
Hexlash (Saphire)
You will receive a serious bite wound from a rabid snarbolax. This infection will fester and grow, gradually affecting you as rabies would. The first symptoms of rabies may be very similar to those of the flu including discomfort, fever, or headache, with progressive feelings of confusion and hallucinations. It will also give you immunity and maniacal strength in Part 6.
Spoilers, much? Wouldn't want your three: "players" meta-"gaming".
Stop it.
That's the last warning you'll get from me.
Look, I can kinda understand your anger. But you need to bury it now, because it's unhealthy and making this game less fun for the few who *are* playing it. Your harassment of us, the game, and Mawa violates the ToS.
Good, your warnings were getting tiresome anyways.
I will stop, but in the future I hope Mawashimono knows not to reject people. It hurts feelings. And then a disgruntled forum-er starts posting angrily. And here we are.
EDIT: Scratch that. I want my voice to be heard, not silenced.
"I hope Mawashimono knows not to reject people."
You didn't qualify that. You didn't modify it. So rejection is always wrong? People should always accept anybody and everybody for any reason, for any purpose?
The US Army shouldn't reject little children who want to join, because they should know not to reject people. It hurts feelings.
Rape victims shouldn't reject rapists who want sex, because they should know not to reject people. It hurts feelings.
Do you want to clarify yourself?
Don't encourage him any further, just go fill out the report and be done with it.
I've already reported him.
Edited in the interests of peace.
Well it is a bit of a spoiler but how else will Mawashimono inform the others about that?
I was originally planning to send that out as indivudal in-game mail, but the injury part was something they were going to have to write into their stories and reveal anyway. Also, I wanted people to see how I was directing the other writers.
As for revealing that their injuries would have future significance, two things. First, I didn't want them to think they were taking grevious damage for no reason. Secondly, it's just good story-telling to have a reason for things happening.
Since this is my first time trying something like this, I'm trying to find a good balance between guiding the story along and giving the individual writers freedom to be creative. My hope is that the objectives for each part that they are receiving from me add to the fun rather than detract from it.
I've tried reading role-play threads in the past and have found the stories to be erratic, disjointed, and practically indecipherable to those not continually contributing to it, or "playing" as you say.
I've come to realize that a tytpical role-play story is almost entirely about the "playing" and very little about the actual "story" that comes out of it.
It is my hope that I can find a happy medium in which the players/writers have fun but also produce a good story that readers (or non-players) can enjoy.
I assumed that the "now taking apps" and "no longer accepting apps" titles that I saw meant that people applied to be part of the role-play group and not everyone was accepted. It seems, however, that everyone and anyone can join during the "open apps" period.'
I can see that that form of role-playing doesn't appeal to me. The role-plays that I oversee will always be more selective and limited not due to any snooty elitism but on account of the above balance I described between playing and story-telling.
At the end of this experiment, I would be interested in hearing your feedback, and will consider all poilitely constructive criticism in any future endeavors of this sort that I might choose to undertake.
@ Thinslayer: I will clarify, but you are "encouraging me" to put it as Darkwatc would say. It is NOT okay, to exclude people purely because you are "unfamiliar" with them or you want "only the best". No matter how much Mawashimono may deny it, she is still hurting people.
@ Mawashimono: I don't think I will wait for the end of your experiment to give feedback, this time in a more *manner*. The GM's don't need to get involved over every conflict. I am sure they have more important things to do.
I don't think it is "good storytelling" to explain what happens in the next chapter. I mean, if you told me that Gandalf is still alive after falling into Moria, that would kill the point of several chapters of the dang book. Maybe give a reason after? Or include it in your writing? If you read a book -because you are trying to make this more about storytelling- and something bad happens to a character, the author doesn't break stride and say: "Derppity derp, this is going to happen because X,Y, Z!". No, if it is essential to the plot they explain it in writing, or just let you figure it out. Bad stuff doesn't always happen for a reason. If you want to discuss things privately I encourage you to find some means of doing it without your "adoring public" seeing it. Or at least say: "Spoiler Alert" at the top of the post. Or use in-game mail. Or e-mail. Or a /tell in game.
Malkalack; Piss off mate. You're only making matters worse. Sorry but even if you respond to me you have Violated the ToS by dragging something this far into borderline Harassment. Sorry to get rude but ya, just stop.
I have an idea: how about we discuss this somewhere else? You say you want your voice to be heard, and since the subject of "rejection" has sufficient gravity as to involve many players, General Discussion sounds appropriate. At least then it won't have to be considered harassment of this thread.
I hope you know that Mawa, as with everyone and everything else, can't possibly please everyone, and that of course means that someone somewhere will always be getting the short end of the stick.
Now it's important to know that when you end up being the guy with that short stick, that you don't start taking it out on others and being a bad sport about it. All you accomplish by doing this is you successfully make yourself look bad and you pretty much close up any opportunity to join them in the future.
And let's say for a moment that you did happen to get chosen; do you expect Thin or Dark to stick around, wantonly hurling insults and throwing sarcastic remarks at everyone because they couldn't get in?
You want to express your frustration? Fine, find a more civil way to do it instead of sticking around like a jerk and venting it on everyone else. If she rejected you because she isn't familiar enough with you then it's YOUR responsibility to fix that. At least now you have something to work towards and improve for next time.
And that thing about your voice needing to be heard. Yeah, this isn't a revolution, it's not some form of malice trying to oppress you, it's just another fact of life that we all have to live with. We all get what you're going through because no one gets everything they want. So get with the program already.
Alright, I am sorry. I let my emotions cloud my sense of good judgement, which frankly, needs some work. I am sorry to Mawashimono for harassing this thread, and I am sorry to the players for being such a royal [male, reproductive organ]
Apology accepted! :-)
Oh, yes. That was intentional. Like those two slimy gossipers in Game of Thrones, but Bechamel is more obliviously so.
You'll find out at the end of all this what he whispered in my ear.
