This doesn't exactly seem like the mystery mailer in Pandafishie's thread, just judging from how playful it sounds.

I really have no hints as to who this knight is except that they probably don't actually know me in-game but see me around enough on forums. I don't really feel like explaining the reasoning behind that, but it seems this is almost completely based on forum identity.
That, and the mail was sent any time within the past 12 hours, so it's likely either someone up late last night or 'early' this 'morning' (maybe EU).

Not too big a fan of the sender, given what Flowchart was mailed, and the general high-and-mighty theme going on here. I could guess, but if it's who I think it is [unless someone is being intentionally misleading], I'm not going to humor them.

Well, that was... interesting.

I'm almost leaning towards it being an EU player, due to the existence of this character "é". I know I can't type those characters with my windows comp (I usually go through alt-codes to get those characters - but can Mac users do it?).

Of course, that idea goes away if the person is copying+pasting from another textbox, which is very likely.

I have no idea how these texts are customized for each person (or if that matters), or if there's any relation at all between them.

It's a mix of self-praise and receiver-tailoring, I think.

Look at the mail I got. I'm one of the kinds of people who just will not shut up until they get to a conclusion they can accept, or nobody replies- sometimes even if they're wrong. I've had some [regrettable] moments. Seems fitting I'd get a mail related to that.

But, maybe I'm wrong, and it's more about this specific person instead. I know someone who's said similar things to these mails recently.

I think a good place to look is on the (now graveyarded) thread that Pandafishie created.
Make a list of the people who commented a lot. Cross out everyone that received a letter. You'll be left with a small pool of candidates.

From his forum "improvement" thread to the PSA thread in this same subforum, and all the whiteknighting he does for better and worse, I don't know who else the hints are supposed to lead towards. The bit about the spelling of 'cafe' is plausible as well since he seems to use European date order. (5/3/2014 vs. 3/5/2014 for May 3rd, USA/EU)

All I can say about the pretentious messages is "I'm disappointed."

But since they have access to game data, they probably have a way to register a mail on your mailbox without attaching a sender to this. And since GMs moderate the forums, they can say who post on forums a lot or Devs can see on game data who is a vanguard.

lol @ "pretentious". Whoever it is is trying to use some Middle-English voice. It isn't necessarily pretentious. I took it as meaning it was some role-play or hint at the identity.

The European date order is generated by Spiral Knights though, so we can't assume anything from that.

Now that you mention it, the one thing that really stands out (aside from the Middle-English) is the biblically-inspired phrasing:

"...name is legion and [they] are many"
"No eye has seen nor ear has heard..."
"sackloth and ashes"

And I think Arc (hey... that abbreviated name... "Ark"?) was the only one I know of who has recently even tried to bring something like that up on forums recently.

I don't think that alone is conclusive... but then kawaiimono said:

Looking at this mail, they all have biblical theme. They are cleverly worded, and manipulated a touch, but for all intents and purposes, whoever this is seems to be forming a guild and is trying to recruit?

Arc has the intellect, knowledge, and vocabulary to do this, as well as the inclination, I'm sure. I'm not certain why he would have chosen a couple of these knights (no offense, I'm simply referencing previous interactions, or lack thereof), but one way or another, we have ourselves a mystery.

As for the whole 'he's trying to make a guild or band people together' thing, that makes sense, because this wiki page exists. Pay special attention to the most recent 'Newz' entry:

"10/03/2014 [*] (posted by Arcknightdelta): Many of the active members of our guild have quit the game and moved onto other things. Our guild is dead. Those who stayed are fairly active but we all do our own things. I shall be looking to make my return early July 2014 [*] and help my Guild Masters and Officers rebuild Order of Valor in the great guild it was. Until then my friends."

Judging from those dates, [*], I think this was posted last year in October... note how he says he wants to rebuild the guild in July of this year. Maybe this is some sort of preliminary thing?

Midnight, the one that mailed you is different from the one that mailed us, I guess. The mail he sent is usually accompanied by that last sentence about the forge box. It's also always labeled as Identity Hunt and Retiredknight is a name of actually existent character. Besides, we all got the mails in 02 May, except you, in 09 May. I think someone is joking...

@OP:

As far as I recall, Thinslayer was knowledgeable with the Bible (Or that's what I interpreted about him) and he is an active Treasure Vault forumer, so his writing should be quite neat. I think it's him.

And yes, I can confirm that he is infact making a guild call 'knights of Christ', oh, in case you didn't know, he is a christian. Whose opnions on things isn't really what I had in mind and we did have dispute in the past, hence he will never write me anything.

And now for some herecy, or a religion I established:

In the beginning, the world is non existant, even nothingness itself didn't came to be...

I got a second letter from a "Retiredknight", which is different from an actual < A Retired Knight >

The first paragraph of the second letter is the same as Midnight-Dj's, but the last sentence is different.

It said "Alpha am I since my name contains two “a”s. I never played beta nor am I delta."

Now, this raises some questions.

First, If Arcknightdelta didn't send the first set of letters, then who did? Or is Arc just messing with us? Were a dozen sent out the first time too?

Second, did the same person send the second set of letters? I assume 12 people got them, but it seems not exactly the same 12 as before.

The hint I received in the second letter states "I'm not a delta" but his name contains 2 a's, so it doesn't rule out Arc.

I don't think it could be Thinslayer since his name only has one "a", so I'll stick with my first guess.
