"I have no arguments with food.". He said, as he sheathed his blade and started to pick up a wolver whose body was relatively intact. He then turned his attention to the splatter of blood that replaced a wolver. "Anyone know what happened?"
Dark Cradle Falling RP
Leo sheathed his sword and walked over to the kid, hoisting him up and balancing him on his shoulder once again.
"With what? The-"
He noticed the splatter of blood for the first time, "I have no clue, you think its the whatever roughed up Koutetsu?"
Skinning his fifth wolver, obviously frustrated, Armori said,
"Well it better return my damn bayonet."
He stabbed the carcass aimlessly a few times, and then answered Leo
"It probably is. If it's eating wolvers though, it's obviously not going to bother us yet. I'd sleep under iron if I could tonight though."
Koutetsu shivered at the thought of the being, causing him to stutter in his speech a little. "L-l-lets get to the elevator, s-shall we?". He said, nervously fidgeting.
Armori shook his head at Koutetsu. He knew he hadn't actually been through an encounter with the creature, and so had no right to judge, after all the thing might make him wet himself, but at this point it was hard not to think of Koutetsu as at least a little soft.
"When do you think Pod Boy, I mean Dice-dude here, is gonna wake up? No screw that, how do you think he got here?" He asked Leo and Koutetsu.
After salvaging all the Wolver pelt and meat he could, he set off towards Lann and the elevator, and off to Moorcroft Manor again. Armori murmured,
"I still hope his hair turns white again."
Happy by Armori's decision to head to the elevator, Koutetsu made no haste going as well. He was a formidable fighter, but that thing had shaken him. No longer could he even stand the mention of it. As Koutetsu arrived on the elevator, he couldn't help but staring at all the meat Armori had gathered.
Leo followed without a word, the kid was not heavy, but he was a bit cumbersome. He joined the others and waited, hoping this kid would wake up soon so he wouldn't have to carry him.
Lann grinned. He hadn't even left the elevator. There was no need. His fist slammed down on the button, and the elevator began its descent.
((There you are.))
Lann had smashed the elevator button, and they started descending. As they got further down, Koutetsu's small stare at the wolver meat became a little more obvious as they went.
The elevator ride down was uneventful, and aside from Koutetsu staring at Armori's gathered meat, it wasn't awkward either. Armori began to parcel his Wolver meat into Wolver fur, for preservation, and putting them into his backpack. He then said out loud,
"Don't stare at the meat, ask for some."
"Huh? Oh, sorry. I haven't had a decent meal in weeks." Koutetsu said, javerting his gaze away from the meat. Not distracted now, Koutetsu began to tire from the time, as it was probably somewhere around midnight.
After hearing that, some of Armori's concern for others, which only really showed in times of plenty, seeped through. He handed Koutetsu a sack with about five decent sized Wolver steaks in there and said,
"There, that's all yours."
He stood there in silence for a few minutes, contemplating his day. He met people, and managed not to be completely at odds with them. The mysterious blood creature which was likely following them, which unnerved him more than he cared to admit, and his next move. The last one, he wasn't sure of. He wanted to see who pink hair was though, that was for sure. Then he suddenly said,
"How long is this gonna take?"
Koutetsu, overjoyed, gladly took the meat from Armori. "Thanks a ton!". He said. Koutetsu was finally happy to have a decent streak of luck going for him. He had a vitapod, some food, and now a group. "Here, let me hold him.". He said, as he walked over to Leo and took the load off his shoulders.
Just as Koutestu heaved Dicemaker onto his shoulders, the boy awoke. "MY DICE!!! WHERE ARE MY DICE!!! I NEED MY DICE!!! WHERE ARE MY-wait a minute. You put my dice in that wolf skin bag. I need my dice back now so-WAHHH! YOU AREN'T HUMAN! GET AWAY FROM ME NOW OR I'LL HAVE TO...PUNCH YOU WITH MY EPIC SKILLS!! YES, THAT'S RIGHT! PUNCH YOU SO MUCH YOU'LL HURT LIKE YOU GOT RAN OVER BY A CAR!" By this point, Dicemaker snatched up the bag, grabbed a dice from within and rolled it, turning his hair white again. Dicemaker's labcoat is now in armor form.
@Sawhero Do the knights speak English?
((For simplistics sake, yes the knights speak the same language.))
"As long as it takes this kid to calm down."
Leo raised his hands up at the dice-kid's hollering, "Hey! Hey! Calm down, we're not trying to steal your dice. Or hurt you, if you care about that. However that guy over-" he glanced at Armori, "There. May hurt you if you keep annoying him."
"WHAT IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE ARE YOU!! I COME IN PEACE! DO YOU?!" Dicemaker asks Leo.
After Armori had carried the dice like a good sport, the kid just snatched it up and started yelling at him.Inwardly, Armori cursed. What would he want with a bag of dice anyway? He fought people for money, he didn't gamble.
Leo had said something, but Armori hadn't heard it in his annoyance with the kid. He was bloody hysterical, yelling a load of nonsensical stuff at them. At least his hair was white again. He had some weird armor too.
((@Colray- You said Armerio again dwl))
Armori took the liberty of replying to the kid's question.
"Technically we can't COME in peace. We were already here. But, in any case, we are peaceful. We took you so you could have shelter and food, I even gathered your dice for you. But, if you don't CALM DOWN, I will hurt you. My headaches are triggered by the smallest disturbance, and as you can see, we're in an enclosed space. If I get too annoyed, there's no telling what I might do," Armori said maliciously, a manic glint in his eyes. He drew his bayonet to prove his point.
"We should be asking the questions. Who are you? Where are you from? What is your objective? And why were you in a space pod?"
He took out another bayonet and began sharpening his blades.
"Me? I'm... I'm... I FORGOT MY NAME! I HAVE AMNESIA! CALL A DOCTOR! I NEED A DOCTOR! Wait one minute Dicemaker. Calm down. Wait. I said a name. Dicemaker. Call me Dicemaker! And in case you didn't know your way around the solar system, I'm from Earth. My objective was to find another safe planet because my father accidentally destroyed the Earth. I was in a space pod because my father was trying to get me away from Earth. Does that answer your questions?" Dicemaker asked. After this lengthy answer, Dicemaker pulls out another dice and rolls it. Then he goes to sleep.
Sorry I kinda have to drop this RP cuz I have too many RPs im involved in
((@Saucce- Sorry to hear man..))
"Earth? Is that anything like Isora? Assuming you know what Isora...... he @#$%ing fell asleep," Armori said, pissed.
Reflecting on what "Dicemaker" had said, if his father had destroyed a planet, what was he capable of? The dice obviously did more than change hair colour now, thought Armori now wished he would change from white hair, as he associated the hysterics with the white hair now.
"Kid's annoying. I might just kill him," Armori muttered.
Leo looked at Armori, "This kid's father did what now?"
He looked dubiously at the sleeping kid.
"I vote we dump the kid at Moorcroft. Seems more of a burden than a help."
He knelt down and picked up the dice that the kid rolled to nakje himself go back to sleep.
"Whoever heard of magic dice?"
"I don't say we shouldn't drop him yet. He may be of use. And a blood bag, in a worst case scenario. I'd be more inclined to keep him if he had the decency to at least make a few twenty sided dice. I used to host games of Clockworks and Chromalisks a while ago.". Koutetsu said, leaning himself on the edge of the elevator.
Several thin, bony hands suddenly appeared from the depths below and grabbed at the edges of his suit. They tugged madly at him, seeming to strive to yank him into the abyss.
Koutetsu sighed. "If we do decide to keep him with us, we should keep track of what die and what number just put him to sleep. It might help if he goes- hmm?". Koutetsu felt a tug on his back, followed by him getting pulled off the side of the elevator. He quickly yelled an obscenity or two and managed to grab hold of the edge of the elevator. The only thing he could do and did do at this point was shout more obscenities and cry for help.
Lann reacted quickly. His staff flicked out at the hands, pulverizing several fingers. He grabbed a knife with a hollow handle off his belt. He fitted it to his staff, and set to work hacking off the hands. He ignored the blood spraying out, his face determined.
The hands deftly avoided most of his attacks, but lost their grip in the process. The creature below shrieked and gurgled in anger, then vanished in an instant.
Or so they thought.
"Apparently the kid's father blew up a planet. Or whatever "Earth" is at any rate, it's a horrible name for a planet. Why name a planet after the dirt you walk on?" Armori ranted to Leo.
Then, Koutetsu had mentioned keeping track of the dice that controlled the kid, and before Armori could even agree with the idea, he seemingly lost his balance and almost fell out of the elevator. ((From Armori's point of view.))
What Armori couldn't understand is why he was yelling for help. Sure it was possible to fall out of the elevator and die, it had happened to a couple people he had travelled with before, but if he was to fall out, he'd have fallen already.
*And his cursing won't *&^**&# change that,* Armori thought grumpily.
Then Lann attached a knife to his staff and hit some unseen thing behind Koutetsu, a creature shrieked out angrily, and a flicker of surprise crossed Armori's features. But, as the danger had been seen off, he asked Koutetsu,
"Why do all these creatures want you so badly?"
Koutetsu pulled himself up, saying, "Maybe I'm just their type. Blood type that is. Get it? No?" he groaned a little bit as he fumbled and fell head first into the elevator. He let out a small moan of pain, stood up and started to rub his head, trying to forget what just happened.
Armori didn't even help Koutetsu up, but fell to the floor of the elevator himself, shaking with laughter.
"Fail on so many levels, man. They must think you like them too, after all, if you can be head over heels for the elevator, why wouldn't they think they're your type?!"
Then, he composed himself.
"When the HECK do we get to the Manor? I can't remember any elevator ride this long!" he grumbled.
The ride felt like it was taking a long time because it actually was taking a long time - its rate of descent had slowed by about half. Unbeknownst to them, someone was messing with the hydraulic actuators.
"Ha. Ha. Ha.". Koutetsu sarcastically laughed at the joke. "But you are right, it is taking far too long for this. Maybe some system got busted or toyed with."
(Bump)
Koutetsu very obviously stared at a light in the distance. Whatever it was, it had his curiosity.
Armori looked at the sleeping kid, and suddenly realized how sleepy he was himself. It had been a couple days since he slept, he was running on mist and fumes basically.
But a curious light caught his line of sight. Jolted awake, Armori stared in a dazed fright.
"Could that be coming from the thing that tried to grab you?" he murmured, his body from the mouth down still asleep.
Armori had asked a question, only to get no response.
*Why didn't he answer me?* Armori wondered. He was tired of being ignored. Twice in a day was two too many times. The slight irritation woke up the rest of him, and he looked around, hoping to smack Koutetsu in the head for his insolence.
*After I gave him Wolver steaks,* Armori sulked.
Armori looked around. He didn't have to worry about the steaks, since those were still neatly tied up in a slumped over bag on the rusty floor of the elevator. What he did not find, was the face he wanted to smack, nor the rest of the body.
Armori looked around, stupefied. How had he disappeared like that? Presumably, he went to the light, but how did Armori know that the light wasn't some deathtrap masquerading as somewhere appealing?
Armori tentatively put his left foot over the elevator rail, ((it was now moving a few millimeters every minute)), with his right foot firmly planted in the elevator. His left hand was wrapped around a bayonet, while the right had a deathgrip on the elevator rail.
((I should have clarified this, but the light was not out of the ordinary, but rather just a random light that caught Koutetsus attention. The light is far away, like in the backdrops of levels. Nothing have had taken him. Should.))
Armori bumped into the elevator rail and woke up. The light wasn't real after all. He had been sleepwalking. Dangerous, yes, to be sleepwalking on an elevator, but, at least he didn't have to be subjected to the weird dream anymore.
He looked around, expecting to see Koutetsu.
Armori looked behind himself. To his dismay, part of his dream was apparently real, in that Koutetsu was still gone, and the bag of steak was slouched over on the ground, near the others who were asleep or trying to go to sleep.
"The things took him!" Armori exclaimed.
But Armori didn't know what attacked Koutetsu at first so he had no idea what to do next. Obviously the thing was below the elevator. He motioned to Lann and Leo, just checking if they weren't figments of his imagination too, and then peered down the elevator shaft.
There was nothing down the shaft. Nothing at all.
At least, nothing he could see.
Leo blinked awake, "who? What?"
He noticed an absence of Koutetsu, "wait- what? Where could he have gone?"
Leo put one hand on his sword and peered upwards, trying to see anything.
His keen eyes might have spotted a trail of black slime on the elevator rails. It's thick, smelly, and disgusting, but thinly-applied so you don't smell it unless you swipe your finger in it for a test.
Leo spotted something, and pointed to the rails, some stuff was on the rails.
"Armori, you know what this stuff is?"
He looked around and reached towards the black substance. His hand wavered, and he stopped himself.
"Did someone screw with the lift?"
((Ah ha! I didn't screw up Armori this time!))
Armori looked to what Leo had pointed at. Black slime all over the rails. It looked thick enough to mess with the elevator's mechanisms too. He buried the tip of his bayonet in it and smelled it. Half an inhale was all he needed to start coughing.
"Smells like rotten Wolver combined with dying Gorgo," Armori retched.
"Someone definitely messed with the rails. Just to get Koutetsu it seems too."
He stuck the bayonet back in its slot. Having that slime as a tip might be useful.
"How do we go after him? Climb the gears? It's not like they're moving us anywhere anyways," he said.
As if on cue, the gears chose that moment to completely stop.
((Ha you got it!))
Koutetsu had been awake while everyone had slept. As an insomniac, he was jealous of the sleeping others he saw before him. He sighed again, as he had done many times. He set the bag of wolver Armori had given him down. Shortly after that, he had his mouth quickly suppressed by a hand and the rest of him grabbed. From his tiredness and the sudden movement, he became disoriented and had no idea whether he was moving up or down.
((What happened while the others slept.))
Armori decided to try and climb the gears. They had passed a floor not too far from the current position, considering the rate at which the elevator had moved.
He hopped from the elevator rail to a giant gear, which he pulled himself up on. From there, he gained another five feet by standing on the cog of another big gear.
"Easy does it," he muttered. This required nimbleness, courage, focus, and just a little stupidity. All for a knight he didn't really know. Gaining another 4 feet, he asked himself,
"Since when did I care this much?"
((Bump. Don't like it when this goes almost a day without a post. Colray and Thin, if you managed to find time in your probably busy lives, please make a post, even if it is short.))
Koutetsu had killed the Alpha rather impressively. Armori didn't think he had it in him. Then he raised the question of what the group should do with the frozen wolver. Armori responded by putting a bayonet through the Wolver's skull. While gathering his bayonets he suggested,
"Food. We're gonna be hungry, that kid is gonna be hungry, and I don't like Undead grub."
He stared at the others, grabbing the sack of dice, and daring the others to contradict him.
