Winner of the 2014 Rankings -> Noobis

Rules:

-If you want to take someone's rank you have to beat them best 5 out of 9 in a 1v1 if the players are from the same server.
-If the players are from diferent servers the 1v1 are to the best 2 out of 3 in each server.
-The challenged chooses the 1st server.
-The challenged has 96 hours from the moment the challenge is thrown to play with the challenger, otherwise he's given a loss.
-In the top 5, the challenged has 72 hours from the moment the challenge is thrown to play the challenger.
-You can't use AT in the 1v1.
-Everyone must record and show AT and toggle off at the start of the video.
-If you don't have a decent computer you can record with a phone or a camera.
-To show the AT and toggle off you should do the same that Illu does in his video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He4wJGDiqpY
-You must upload your video (just 1 video).
-If someone is caught using AT (or having AT/toggle on in the video) he/she will be banned from The List for a week.
-All the 1v1 must have a judge.
-Only the listholders can be judges.
-If you lose you can't challenge another player for 96 hours and you can't challenge the same player for a week.
-If you win against another player after your loss you can start challenging again.
-If you wanna join the list you must challenge and beat the #20.
-If you wanna make a challenge you must tell/send a mail to a listholder and to the player that you wanna challenge or post his challenge here.
-You can challenge up to 2 players above you in the top 6-20 and only the player above you in the top 5.
-You can use all the map outside the base but you can't use the stuff that is there (snowballs, traps, healthpads...)
-Only the 2 players and the listholders can be in the game.
-If you are inactive for 3 months you are out of the rankings.
-Status weapons aren't allowed, only the ones that only inflict status with charges and the GF/Triglav.
-You can use Callahan line and if you stun/freeze just sit and wait.
-You can't use the "new" blaster lines.
-You can't use the Black Kat Set.
-You can't use Chaos set.
-You can't heal with anything besides your own guardian shield.
-You can't run away using all the map avoiding to fight and hiding behind walls like a F.
-If you give 3 autowins in a month you are out of the rankings.
-Some rules can be modified if the listholders agree.

-YOU CAN'T USE AT
-Recording is highly recommended but not necessary
-All gear and weapons are allowed.
-You can't use more than 1 Pulsar per team
-You can't use more than 1 Mixmaster per team
-We will choose some judges
-Every 2v2 must have a judge that will record
-Zainj must die
-If the 80%+ of the judges thinks that you used AT and you don't have a video to prove that you didn't you'll autolose
-The fights are up to 5 wins if you play on the same server.
-If you play on diferent servers you'll have to do 3 rounds on each server.
-If you lose you must wait a week before challenging again
-If the challenged team doesn't play in 5 days after the challenge is thrown they will autolose.
-You can challenge one of the 2 teams above you.
-You can challenge only the team above you if you are in the top 3.

Ok, so the new Rankings will have be a Top 20 of both servers.
We will start with 5 players and if anyone wanna join he/she must challenge the last player and if he/she wins he/she will get his/her spot and the last player will have a new position under the challenger. If the challenger lose he/she will get the position under the challenged and will wait until he gets challenged.
We will make it this way until we get the 20 players for the full ranking and then we will start with the normal rules.

GF curses are a problem. Check last Illu vs me. I did not have any option as Chaos guardian. Curse means death. From GFer point of view, they don't deserve a redo if they landed a swing. If we want duels where statuses have no value we need a solution.
My proposition: when a player gets cursed the battle stops until the curse effect ends. Nobody heals. After that, the battle restarts, doing a countdown as usual. Both players will have the %HP they had when the lucky swing took place.

Best possible solution to the gf issue is what muffin has said so I do agree(however it could potentially alter results of the 1v1 seeing as the person who caused the curse could've let's say have broken the guardian shield with that combo and was about to use ff to deal damage or has caught a recon without cloak or a striker without dash etc, nevertheless it is the best solution)

You chose to wear chaos, you should have to play with all its advantages and its disadvantages. I don't see why you should beneficiate the damage and ctr bonus of the set without having to deal with the side effects.

And don't you have more than 2 weapons? I don't know how it works wih chaos but when I am cursed by a gran faust, I still have one weapon to play with. And it's not harder to play with only one weapon than being shocked while fighting.

I mean, curse is a status that's part of the weapon just like shock goes with voltedge or freeze with hail driver. Why would we discriminate one status against the others?

I think this all brings up something important, though. Should Chaos really be allowed if the rules remove the ability to use its huge weaknesses other than with lucky GF combos? The same goes for BK set. They're supposed to be sets with drawbacks but they are not as long as statuses aren't permitted. If you impose rules on curse infliction, this just goes even further and there's hardly any reason to not use Chaos/BK. Dovis also brings up a very important point.

@Valtiros Well, if you think about it, status-by-charge weapons can actually make duels against chaoses easy as pie. Make the chaos guy run out of striker dash, charge your weapon, then just inflict shock or freeze by making sure you get your timing right. Easy first win. Do 2 times and could be an easy 3-0.

I do not see why Chaos is OP. I think Chaos & BK stuff have less normal defence than Skolver (Krakob PhD can confirm this). The CTR VH bonus is not very useful in a duel. BK bonuses are way more useful imo.

btw Chaos has -2 curse points per piece, and BK has -3 (need Krakob again). In conclusion, BK users will get more benefit from this new rule. Disclaimer: I do not own any 5* BK thing.

Dovis' point is interesting but harder to apply.

The difference between Chaos-level defences and Skolver-level defences is 25 normal defence. It's just a little bit over half a pip per most hits with normal damage, it REALLY doesn't matter.

BK items have -4 curse per piece. However, Chaos' -2 per piece is enough to get all weapons equipped cursed, even with four weapon slots so that's irrelevant.

As for actually arguing about Chaos, even if we don't use charges (and thus not bombs), it's a +4 bonus to both guns and swords. That's a ton more than a simple class set grants and it hardly has any drawback.

The new rules about statuses where put in so there would be no element of luck in the 1v1s. A status is nothing but pure luck, one status could easily end the fight which makes them not skill based in the least. If you people believe that chaos is ridiculously OP because you can't run and shock/freeze chaos users then I pity you. If a more skill player faces a chaos/bk set user they will still win because it requires skill to make use of your bonuses so I don't see a problem here. Stop derailing the thread now, kthxbai<3.

This is directed at anyone who believes that chaos/bk set is ridiculously op because you can't use a status against them.

No, what makes it OP is that the sets are essentially buffed up as we remove their weaknesses to make it more skill based, which means that other sets are basically obsolete and this whole ranking's gear meta is based around getting an item set worth at least 50k E and if not there's only one other good option.
