Let's change the system of elite mode.

So, instead of our current system, the devs should make each level one depth deeper, like in danger rooms.
Deeper depths and danger rooms already have more loot and higher difficulty, so it is easier to impliment this system than implimenting elite mode.

So, how is this idea of mine?

No. Just NO.

Elite mode boosts it FAR beyond that.

It also boosts rarity drops a lot, but that doesn't change with depth. This will KILL all Clockworks rarity drops. Seriously, no.

Do you mean one 'Tier' deeper or are you serious with only one single depth?

Even then, as vana mentioned, the rarity boost would be gone.

But Elite mode should be definitelly somewhat harder and also more rewarding. Actually, the difference are only some split damage changes (which is barely noticeable) and Monster having more health.

I have been always a fan of the idea that the Monster AI mechanic should be changed with elite difficulty, not only some Status boosts.

In this case, T3 Monsters would get a completelly new mechanic (or a very old mechanic that got tweaked in many Points as we know). T1 would get T2 mechanic, T2 would get T3 mechanic/Monsters.

My take on the whole ordeal is that the current difficulties are fundamentally flawed because Nick's comment never came true. I wrote about what I want for difficulty settings here-

To summarize that link in less words, players only use normal/elite mode, so we should move elite mode down one to advanced, buff the loot drops in normal to advanced's level (since normal mode has awful drops), and then make a new elite mode that's just awful, but that has cool and interesting item drops at heightened rates.

Your suggestion is alright but would be kind of jarring. If you mean to move it up by a single stratum, stratum 6 wouldn't be able to change at all and that would make me sad. If you mean to move it up by a depth (including loot) then I'd absolutely love this as long as they fixed the radiant drop bug, in which the core's depth gives more shinnings than anything else. The only issue is that random levels would be a whole stratum ahead, since they'd get pushed over just enough to have that happen.
