It's called Electron Vortex and Combuster with maxed uv's.
Riding a 2x Very High CTR is still significantly cheaper than a mixer.

Is there ever going to be a bomb buff of any kind in the future? With my main character being a bomber and all, I find it annoying that I had to switch weapons to beat Vanaduke. Bombs really seem underpowered, even when I'm using Shivermist and Spike Shower, which I believe are two pretty good bombs (especially once I get a DBB).
My other character is a gunner, and I'm doing far better than with my main character. Any chance of a bomb buff?
Also @Nebrium, the problem with that is that you need to have UV's on bombs & swords to make them have a CHANCE of standing up to VANILLA guns. Considering many people can't get UV rolls yet, I really think bombs and maybe swords need a buff, but I don't use swords much so I'm not one to talk.
@Ze-Epik
As someone who's mainly done swords for most of the time I've played the game, (although now I'm working on becoming a sword-gun hybrid), I can say that they really do need improvements. Just like bombers, swordies have a miserable choice of armor compared to gunners, only two easy sets to get and use, and only Freeze and Fire resist. We have no choices for CTR to just swords or easy Shadow defense.
And that's just armor. Niches like heavy Pierce swords, fast swords in general, special damage Leviathan Blades, and long-range swords are currently empty. Some swords are just plain awful or outdone by similar weapons. Normal-type swords are almost never used.
I think giving swordies and bombers more armor choices is priority one, before they do any Sword Update or Bomb Update. After that, they can work on fixing the actual weapons and adding new ones.
Would you add rarities booster, that triples rarities for a month and for $5.95? Newbies really need it.
Yeah. I really don't like it how the only bomber set you have is elemental resist, and the Mad Bomber set is far inferior to the Chaos set.
Speaking of which, NERF CHAOS PLZ.
I think we need a little more detail on the 'nerf chaos' thing, @Ze-Epik.
When you say 'Nerf chaos', what do you mean? Nerf it back to CTR and DB (damage bonus) low for each piece, making chaos give CTR/DB medium overall? Like back in the day where everyone thought chaos was worthless because of its "penalty:benefits" ratio being 2:0? In this case, no. don't do this.
I'm talking about how it's basically a flat-out better choice than most other things.
Actually, scratch that. What we really need is a defense buff.
Right now even if you have good defense basic monsters still 3-shot you. I think it's time to amend that: it gives glass cannon armours a much needed nerf and it gives guardians a little bit of love.
"I'm talking about how it's basically a flat-out better choice than most other things."
Nah, gear is situational, broski. Personally, I can't remember the time I went pure Chaos to anywhere. Maybe to Graveyards or places without a status. In other cases, I would always try to nullify its status penalties and mix it with others sets to get a better chance at surviving.
For example: Going to FSC in full Chaos is the fastest way to become barbeque knight. In this case, Seerus/Chaos or Vog/Chaos is a better choice.
Also, I was asking how you wanted Chaos nerfed, not why you think it's OP. lol Sorry if my initial post wasn't clear. xD
"Right now even if you have good defense basic monsters still 3-shot you."
Um, that's only a problem on Elite difficulty. It's not just armor, shields too. I think what we need here is faster/smarter monsters on elite, instead of monsters with Nukes as their basic attack.
@Faris
If you play with a blindfold on, all of your fingers broken, and were sitting in an active electric chair, then using chaos in FSC might be a challenge.
If the majority of people who play this game are like you Faris, and really don't think Chaos/BK sets are broken AF, then that explains some of GH's responses. Nothing wrong with the game having a very low average player skill level, but that finally explains some questions.
Okay, so Chaos is broken. Cool. Cry me a river and drown it.
What I'm asking is:
How do you want to fix it?
Suggesting to nerf something because it's OP and suggesting that [DATA EXPUNGED] is a fix, isn't going to give the Developers a reason to listen to us.
[edit, just in case i still don't make sense. lol]
I mean, if Chaos is to be nerfed, to what extent exactly?
CTR: High, DB: Medium?
CTR: Medium, DB: Medium? (back to the set's original state, which seems unlikely since it was buffed.)
CTR: Medium, DB: High?
CTR: Very High, DB: Medium?
CTR: Medium, DB: Very High?
CTR: Low, DB: Very High?
CTR: Very High, DB: Low?
CTR: Nothing, DB: Nothing?
Remember that Firestorm Citadel is an end-game dungeon. There is a lot of player variance by the time they get there. Some may not be able to avoid enemies due to connection, skill, or experience. Others don't follow all enemies on the screen and get overwhelmed by not noticing the leaping or breathing zombie in the swarm.
Chaos is OP, but I feel like the problem is that it's as good as class armors while being able to fulfill the role of every class armor. I would personally change chaos to having damage: high and CTR: high overall, and would do it so that the hood has DMG: med, CTR: low, and the armor has DMG: low, CTR med.
This makes the helmet the "damage" part and the armor the "charge time" part. Now chaos is "slightly worse" than class sets (wolver, gunslinger, bomber), but is still a really good hybrid set.
I would also nerf black kat damage bonus down to medium per piece, but that's a bit easier to do.
It's not our job to fine-tune our suggestions down to the very last detail. We aren't scientists. It's up to Grey Havens to interpret what we mean when we say something like Chaos is too OP; that's just how business and product development works in the real world. When people talk about there being too many box promos, it isn't the boxes they're complaining about, it's that it feels like box promos are the only content we get anymore, and they do little to add to the experience of the game.
It would be nice if we could know exactly what we want and be able to tell them that, but that's not how the human brain works. We don't always realize what certain factors make us feel or think a certain way. And we don't have to; the only people who do need to know are the content providers themselves.
The way I see it, it's not a matter of nerfing Chaos, it's a matter of making other armors better in their own right to stack up to Chaos. If they are going to nerf Chaos, it should be on the defensive side, not the offensive. The idea of the armor is that it's meant to have OP attack power and terrible defense; by nerfing its defenses, it's still basically the same armor. Whether they make its status penalties worse, weaken its damage defenses, or lower the health boost it gives, that's what testing and feedback is for.
Like I said before, we need more armor choices. If we just had better armor across the board, I doubt people would ask for a Chaos nerf.
@Jessecho
I didn't mean perfecting suggestions should be anyone's job. I'm sorry if I sounded like that. I'm just against people screaming "DIS ISSH BR0KEN, FIX IT NAO" without even a lick of detail.
I understand what you're saying, although I don't entirely agree with it. If developers magically understand all our needs, then why do they ask for feedback? Why do forums exist? I think customers' feedback does need a little detail to it, at least a little to understand what's wrong and what direction to take when fixing something. Something vague like: "you need to fix this, ok" isn't much help.
edit: i fix typo xD
Many Suggestions forum threads do propose concrete solutions. Whether or not the game designers adopt those solutions (usually not), developing them is a useful exercise for the suggester. The suggester comes to understand what the alternatives are, whether they are any better than the status quo, and why the status quo is as it is.
In other words, when you disagree with someone, it is productive to ask yourself "Why do they think that way?" If you engage that question seriously, rather than just saying "because they're stupid", then you can learn a lot.
I honestly think Chaos needs to have a change in the buffs. Now I am not talking about change in the amount of buffs or the power of the buffs I am talking about changing what weapons they effect. So with that being said I was thinking that they should change the ctr for all weapons and dmg for all weapons to ctr for swords and dmg for swords.
Now there are good reasons to do this and some kinda sticky after effects. The first reason to do this is that it is flat out OP and needs to get a nerf (which is obvious). The second reason is that there is already an armor that has similar stats just for bombs. Noe we get to the after effects that would be kinda hard to cover up. If they did switch the bonuses to sword only they would have to make another armor with the same bonuses for guns. The only problem with that is that there are already the gunning armors which give bonuses that are close to chaos but are still worse than chaos. So they would have to rework the gunning armors to keep everything balanced, but if they decided not to add a gunning "chaos" set then they would still have to rework the gunning armors. If they didn't they would hear about them more than the devs have heard about chaos.
So while I would really like them to switch chaos to sword only buffs they would have to rework a bunch of armors no matter what but I think it would be worth taking the time to so that things can be balanced again.
Now I have a few questions if the devs are still taking questions.
@Cronus: What is your opinion on shard bombs, Acheron, Mixmasters, Chaos and other weapons or armors that are completely unbalanced?
That's a good point. What if we did something like the heavenly iron route, and made it universal low damage and CTR, but also had sword damage and CTR low to stack on top?
Now your swords are pretty good but your guns and bombs aren't as good, but still pretty good. The new gunner update armors will accomplish what chaos does and more, and mad bomber will be a straight upgrade for pure bombers. Seems pretty good TBH.
I really like that idea. It gives a lot of room to work with on choosing armors (and not just using chaos for anything and everything) and still gives chaos that all round armor set while not being OP.
I find Chaos very useful. Now that just means I love taking advantage of it unfortunately. Some of my friends who like everything but chaos ask me why I use it. I always answer with the "Just don't get hit and it's OP" response. If you're good enough to dodge with Chaos, it's fine with the buffs. Just not buffs big enough to make sets like the Mad Bomber absolutely obsolete.
I kinda wanna switch up your suggestion a bit and make the cloak CTR Med for Guns and Damage Low for Sword, while the hood is CTR Med Sword and Damage Low for Guns. That way the set can stay "kind of" the hybrid set.
That is a pretty good idea for chaos as well. The only thing I don't like about it is that it does give a reason to use the mad bomber set but it still wouldn't give any reason to use any armors other than chaos and mad bomber(if you can dodge).
Oops. Forgot what I wanted to ask.
1- I know this has been asked before, but it's been a while, can't we get a tiny hint for what to look forward to? Just a little, small, something?
2- Will CMs ever be a thing again? ... or are they hiding somewhere?
3- Is this account owned by Vanaduke and his army of Undead now? I think this is important for the national security of Cradle.
@Faris
Ignoring your other silly and pointless questions, I think a hint of what's to come is long overdue. It would be cool though, but they have their own agenda. Based on previous replies from Cronus, there is nothing concrete to report.
It should have been very obvious that GH doesn't make concrete promises anymore, since they can't necessarily guarantee a change, for reasons of their own. You should read the thread again. Also, the best thing to do is to leave GH alone and let them do what THEY want. They obviously know the suggestions, having a bunch of children constantly pester them about the same things would likely be counterproductive (Hint hint).
I feel like suggesting things is never in bad faith. Feedback is important for any sort of media, especially interactive media.
However, telling people how to do their jobs is pretty much a huge no-no. This pretty much is applicable anywhere - tell a food service worker to "not fall over" isn't helpful. Demanding an electrician to rewire your house so that you get 4 new outlets in an hour won't be great if you want your house to not be ripped up. Telling a member of a software support team to spill the beans or to implement your new best idea will probably be met with the sound of silence.
That doesn't mean suggestions shouldn't be given. Telling a waitress about a new set of heels that you've found that are much easier to walk in will make her job easier should she have balancing issues while carrying food. Taking measurements beforehand and telling the electrician how much space it'll take for the outlets can help cut down on time spent rewiring everything. Posting about your new great idea for some software in the right area (forums, email, etc) will allow a software support team that looks through said things to pass the idea on silently to those who can do something with it.
I highly urge you to post any suggestions you have for the game over in the suggestions subforum. Doesn't matter if they're good or bad - if an idea sparks some fire in the development team for an idea then it's worth throwing your ideas around. :)
Do you have any affiliation with UnderCorp? You could be able to give us some insight on their shady ways...
we encountered a bug where we hit the switch but there is still a gate...it took us 30 min and now we cnt finish the game. ty devs for fixing this issue. XD
There's an entire section of the forum for bug reports, and this isn't it. This thread is basically a Q&A for Grey Havens. The bug reporting forum can be found here.
For the (surprisingly) few people suggesting CE price drops in pages 1/4 of this thread (because I'm too lazy to check pages 2/3) I would like to tell you that the way to make the price drop is to MAGICALLY MAKE EVERYONE POSTING OFFERS LOWER THEIR PRICES BY A LOT. Which would mean every money hungry player posting those offers agree on making the prices lower and losing money. But actually to contradict what I said, doing that would ALSO benefit them in a way.
Lowering their prices would make AH prices go down too to match the market prices. People converting Eng to Crs with their newly bought Eng should not buy anything from the AH but from other players to get a better bargain than the outdated prices in the AH. Doing so would have two possible outcomes. Either the people in the AH update their prices to get more buys or the AH gets abandoned and then removed. Also the conversion for crs to eng would be good because it would be cheaper to buy Supply Depot items such and boosters, weapons, etc. OF COURSE there's always the chance this could somehow backfire if started. Just showing I'm aware
Now... I MUST GO. MY PLANET NEEDS ME.
-Disclaimer: This is all my opinion and probably not 100% factual
The problem with energy is that not many people are buying energy any more (The people who spend money on the game do so on promos), So there's way more demand for energy than there is supply. This causes prices to creep up, and there's nothing really to bring them back down.
I'd like to take this opportunity to once again suggest bundling promos with energy so that everybody wins. Paying customers still get the shiny promo boxes they want and there will be more spare energy on the market for free players to buy at lower costs, meaning they'll be able to progress to endgame quicker and start buying into costumes and accessories themselves. Everybody wins!
As someone who does buy into promos I like, I prefer the current system for most boxes. When I buy into a promo, I want to get items from the promo, and I typically dump $20 into each promo. Either I get 5 assorted items (nice) or 2 items and a bit of energy (ehhh).
However, I do believe promos being on an on-off situation (standalone box, bundled box) that swapped every promo would be a nice solution.
Another thing they could do is make a replacement for the defunct Explorer Pack, bundle Energy with a couple Silver Keys so you can get some extra prizes from Lockboxes along with your purchase, considering the exclusive weapons and armor you get from the bundles right now are only good for novelty. The Elevator Pass is obviously dummied out, so I suggest they replace it with one or two actual Lockboxes that you can use a key on right away. During some promos, they could replace the standard Lockbox with special versions that have cooler prizes.
Course, that doesn't fix the big problems I have with the way the game is set up as a whole, but it's fine for the current model.
Hi, I've been with SK for...*counting on fingers* at least 4 or so years now. and something I've ALWAYS been curious about is lore. especially the Gremlins, those Cute hot tempered fluffy people. we know so little about them, and by that I mean: Herex is probably a traitor, King Tinkinzar may or may not exist (ala 1984, Big brother) and out of the Iron Nine, we know of one warmaster (Seerus) and that's it.
Aside from that we know next to nothing. any lore even if its just codexes or letters or a generic NPC/Terminal that tells us more about them would be incredible.
Perhaps you guys at Grey Havens could try considering a Steam Workshop thing similar to TF2? Like you submit something and people show whether they'd like to see that end up in the game?
I really wanna know why not? Why not return old revive system or make a new one becuse this one has 0 teamwork in it, and i loved it how old one required team work ^^
since new system i dont really feel like im playing in a team its more like group of solo people
I play on and off but here are the reasons I started to like this game less and less(Note that I don't play much and somethings I say may be outdated):
The concept for heat crystals is a good idea. At first I loved it, but the change wasn't noticeable because I was a high rank that received all these crystals for free. I soon realized it was A LOT harder to heat items than it should be because the drop rates were abysmal. I think this change should have only be something that helps players who use real money, and it shouldn't have affected free players in anyway. Also, 5 star crystals shouldn't be restricted to FCS, and should have a low drop rate in 4 star zones. It also made the grind a lot harder using a Level 1 Leviathan Blade, and even after multiple runs I would only have 1/3rd or so of the heat before these changes.
Revives are too expensive. Even if I had a lot of money I would rarely use revives because they tend to be worth more than what you'll get from farming. After using 2 or 3+ revives, you've already lost more than you've gained. If this system was changed to be less punishing I would be a lot happier.
Sparks of Life was just a good idea as Fire Crystals, same mistake I made though. After receiving 75-100 sparks of life from all the missions I already completed I realized the drop rate was incredibly low and I'd be lucky to find one. I think sparks should have a decent drop rate of 5% from boxes for now.
With the removal of mist energy, 2 star items on auction became non existent. It's not a big deal because people were making multiple accounts to abuse it and now the elevator is free.
Armor/Weapon drop rates are still at an all time low. This is the thing that bothers me the most. I have hours on end of recorded game time and the only thing I found was a Wolver Cap that was randomly distributed to my teammate. I feel like all monsters should have at least a 0.1 to 1% chance of dropping some sort of equipment, whether it's 2 star or 3 star while bosses should have a higher chance. It feels rewarding to get lucky and receive a highly valued item.
My point is, if you play for at least an hour, you should commonly find a 2 and 3 star weapon drop at mid to high tiers. A boss mob such as Snarbolax would have a 10% chance of dropping Wolver equipment. Playing for two hours would give you a fair chance at a 4 star weapon or a few 3 star weapons at tier 4 and 5. While 5 star items would have an incredibly low chance at dropping on tier 5 and a fair chance at dropping off tier 5 bosses like Vanaduke.
I also believe that materials need more uses so they're seen as more valuable items.
And finally, PVP could have something new added, what that is, I don't know.
If you had stuff dropping from every enemy, even with small chances, you'd quickly be flooded with an arsenal of 1* and 2* items that you'll never use.
The "item drops" are fine where they are, especially since the orbs of alchemy exist. Rarities being more normalized would make for a more fair game (assuming they're dropped on elite-rate of drops, since those are the only reasonable ones), however item drops remaining rare and almost unknown is fair when you can simply choose what item you'll be getting with the orbs you find.
Don't get why it's so hard to get 5* weapons in the first place
That's understandable. Just feel like everything needs a few tweaks and once we have new content it will all be fine.
So for starters id like to speak personally about my last few days looking at the game. . .
First things first, I'd like to make it clear to anyone reading this that I have never been active in the forums. Also, I only just got back to looking in to this game this week after almost 2-3 years MIA dealing with work, relations, and other personal matters. I've tried to sift through much of the chatter among current and ongoing fans, as well as that between the community and the devs (Grey Havens) about what has been done, and what various fans have on their mind. In summary, a lot of fear, a lot of hope, a fair bit of ideas, and some potential initiative.
Speaking to Grey Haven's team now, I would like to clarify I have a little bit of an understanding behind the kind of project you guys have on your hands, and based off what you guys have mentioned I am very impressed by your initiative to re-establish this games growth and the technicalities that obviously come with such a task, as you have mentioned previously.
Now down to business
As far as I've been able to look so far, you guys haven't spoken out to much this last year. And trying to find your home site I heard about seems. . .unavailable.
So for my FIRST question:
How are you guys doing? Where would you guys say you are in progress for the sake of keeping us up to date?
I know you guys are a bit secretive right now, but I sincerely care about how you as people are dealing with work on Spiral. As much as I love the spirit of what Spiral Knights has been to me, I equally care about how the people working on it feel about it. Again, for the sake of staying up to date, Hows it going?
Secondly, I understand you may still be a long, long ways from pushing any fresh content/changes, especially specific things being proposed by fans I still have to ask this:
What can we as fans do currently to help, and I mean really help development along?
Donations, kickstarter funding, patreon, anything. Im sure many of us by now should be aware how necessary in game transactions are to a free game such as Spiral, and Im sure many would agree they'd like to do more than just pay by the prize box to help support your efforts and get the game growing again. Again, understandable if its not that near for additions, but any way we can help would help ease our minds and hopefully yours as well for ongoing improvements!
Signed--- Amethyst Cloak aka AutumnRogue, a humble fan.
Yes. We've seen few additions to SK lately, and they were neat, but, we've yet to hear progress updates from Grey Havens since Cronus' previous report over a year ago. There's gotta be some word about that by now.
1st, through some people's words, the game's storyline has been at a long-standing standstill for a bit over 2 years now, and we're all still waiting for the continuation needed to get the story going once more, but, I have understood that GH still needs time to plan things out before they can commence. These plans tend to change overtime, and I won't stop them. I hope once some things have been settled, we may receive word on how the storyline can continue a bit more frequently.
2nd, while it was nice to see some new levels, we still hope to see many more new missions made soon, not just counting new Rank campaign missions. We've been waiting to see more new Expansion Missions, Danger Missions, & even some new event missions. They have all been amazing, but we still wish to see many more soon.
We have been great adventurers for many years, but, sometimes, we ponder ways to help out GH in whatever way we can, be it through uses of Kickstarter, Patreon, and perhaps others, so that we could give the game more growth it deserves.
Plus, with new, affordable & decent, non-subscribed programs available already, such as Affinity Photo, Affinity Design, Clip Studio Paint, HitFilm Express & Pro, Blender(you all have heard about them, yes? if not, look at them for yourselves. They're all neat to buy&/or try.), & so on, getting stronger & more capable with each new update, that are definite alternatives to some long-standing programs that have their subscription plans that we'd rather not pay for just to use them, such as Photoshop, Adobe Animate, Maya, etc.(I mean, who'd pay money monthly to use these? Big wastes of money, if ya ask me.), along with more powerful computers, equipment, hardware, & technological advancements being made, and more on the way, I feel that helping the people at GH, if needed, should be feasible, even by doing it from our homes.
Purchasing prize boxes, more energy, & so on does help GH, but I think we could do plenty more than just that. We knights may have to help in any way we can.
+1 Please tell us what has been happening GH
So I love drawing and of course with the amount of time I spent on this game, I have made some designs for new monsters along with how they would attack and such. I know most gaming companies don't take ideas from their community so they don't have children giving them drawings of flaming trees, so my question is; where/how can ideas be submitted if you are accepting them, and how would I know if my ideas are actually being looked at and/or possibly incorporated into this game.
I'd say either Suggestions or Treasure Vault.
If you're not sure which, post in one and if the mods don't move it you're good.
If you have a suggestion for the game, toss it over in the suggestions subforum. People do read over them, but simply do not comment on the threads to not raise false hope or deter discussion taking place in them. We've had a number of suggestions end up in the game after all.
Really, it's been quite a long time since the last major update (Starlight Cradle, I believe), and we've just been going along picking up promos and events on the way.
Radio silence didn't really work out for the TF2 team, and when they started communicating more in the most recent updates everyone's been happy.
Please?
grey havens have been dead this whole time and we're just speaking to bots and ghosts
spoopy
I like the fact that GH has been doing everything they can for server/technical management, but the issue is that they always leave out details.
If they told us in layman's terms what kinds of things they're working maintenance on it would do wonders to bridge that gap.
Still really think they should give community creators the chance to design levels/weapons/enemies and e-mail the .obj/.fbx/etc files to the company for possible approval. Would be a neat step forward while GH works on internal matters.
At this point, Grey Havens not knowing about the problems they have would mean they are mentally disabled.
They know it already, you all are not telling them anything new, and the fact that they don't change it means you care about this dead game more than they do. Haven't you noticed they just want to money-milk people that still have false hopes?
I even think they don't have a single developer working. It's hard not to do anything in so many years.
gl and play a non dead game for more fun
Well, that was super harsh, but it's not entirely unwarranted.
We know from years past that the project head of Three Rings Design (Nick) and the lead artist (Ian) voluntarily left the team because of the situation SEGA put them in. There's no getting around the fact that Networks gave OOO/GH a huge beating and left it in a considerable state of disrepair.
Why did SEGA adopt OOO in the first place? It was an easy catch; Rings needed money, even to start out with.
So what we've got is a crippled development team with a moderate lack of money and specialization, a game with no clear source of self-sustaining revenue aside from lootcrate gambling, and a playerbase numbering in the hundreds to <10,000s. The developers obviously need money from somewhere else, and money doesn't just fall out of the sky when you need it. A good majority of the GH staff likely have day jobs to pay for their own families; you can't live off Prize Box revenue, much less pay server upkeep with it at the same time. As such, the Spiral Knights project comes second to their personal well-beings, and it's obvious they don't have as much time for it as they used to.
However, you're right in that new content or at least fixes to old content is easy enough to add. It's obvious that the post-Vanaduke missions were rushed, but the fact that they haven't been at least patched in (about a year? two? I'm losing track) is disappointing. Dreams and Nightmares has a myriad of amazing level designs, but the narration and the beginning sequence just don't hold up to the rest of the mission.
It's also the fault of the GH staff that they steadfastly refuse to reach out to the community. We haven't seen concept art, plot teasers, or even layman's-terms patch note details for the past forever. Forum contests are fun, and I'm glad that those happen, but the only thing that they go towards is promotion for the game. There have been no level editors, no modelling softwares, nothing released to the community, even as test runs. They don't hire anyone new, promotion besides word-of-mouth is nil, (not even on sites that otherwise only host clickbait ads and related trash), and the developers don't give any answers. Part of me thinks they don't have any but are too stubborn to admit it.
Bottom line is, GH is struggling to do anything besides upkeep and maintenance, and there's nothing any of us can do to help them until they ask for it. So remember, Bleyken, you're not entirely wrong, and we're fed up with it too. But there's no good solution, and yelling at it on a forum at this point can only do so much.
There's nothing you can say that they haven't already discussed or read here, but posts like yours, at the very least, serve as a reminder that there are people still invested in this game. So I'm not saying stop, but at least understand the situation first.
This Gunner talk actually gives me another question.
Was the idea behind the Gunner Update to make Guns a flat-out better choice to use than swords or bombs? Think about it, we got these ridiculous armors, coverage for basically every weapon style and damage type, and the most overpowered weapons in the game by a long shot are both guns: Mixmaster and Celestial Orbitgun. When you look up solo Shadow Lairs and those types of videos that were made after 2014, they're always using dual Mixmasters.
It's just jarring how much better overall guns are than swords to use as your primary weapon, and how much better both of those are than bombs. I think hybrid is the best way to go over using one weapon class, and weapon classes don't need to be totally symmetrical but I wish sword and bomb users could have at least a large fraction of the options gun users have.
