I quit playing Spiral Knights a few months back and only logged in only to get an achievement that would unlock a hat for Team Fortress 2. I have a little over 37,000 CE and figured i might as well give it away since i will never use a drop of it.

I will give away 10,000 CE to three people who post the best paragraph or two on why they deserve the CE and why they love spiral knights.

Interesting. Worth a shot I suppose.

I believe that I "deserve" the CE because I will put it to good use gearing up some RL friends who I forced to join the game when Steam released it. I don't often get a chance to play with them because they spend their time on WoW, and right now I can't justify spending money on a subscription to join them since I begin student teaching next year and will have $0 income forced on me for a few months. I love Spiral Knights because it is as close as any modern game has come to being a Rogue-like while still allowing for some social aspects to help ease your frustrations coming out of a long and tiring day at school/work. So to summarize, 10,000 CE would make me quite happy, and provide extra time with good friends, making them happy as well :)

Subject.

I'm the guild leader of Imperium, that runs around helping new players quite frequently. Now that I'm practically finished with my own sets, I'd like to use this CE to help out new members of the guild reach 3* and above - having a crapton of recipes is pretty nice. We have a small guild, so 10k CE will go a long way, and it'll definitely blunt the costs of entirely changing out the Cobalt users. I've also got a fairly good reputation (at least, I like to think that way) on the forums and in-game.

I love Spiral Knights because I started early in the game's life...before it became so noob unfriendly. I'd like to bring it back to that, starting within the guild and slowly expanding to a greater audience. The gameplay was perfect, and easy to get into - with CE costs rather low, our guild was able to equip new players with little expense. As it is now, I'd love a boost to divvy up with the new recruits.

Thanks for the consideration.

As a father of two young

As a father of two young kids, it would be nice to obtain some Crystal Energy. My kids are really good kids and I only let them play when they have finished their homework and everything. Some parents tell me that letting my children play computer games will "rot" their brains, but I say to Hell with that. Many of my friends' kids are not allowed to touch the computer or any gaming console and they aren't doing so good in school. My kids love this game, especially how cute the jelly cubes are. I play with them every chance I get, but energy gets expensive, especially when I have to pay from three players. With the extra CE, I would be able to play with them more! :) I love this game as much as my kids do, but most of all, I love my kids.

This game has really brought us together as father and sons and as a family. We talk about it all the time, over dinner, before bedtime, while walking them to school, etc. It has gotten to the point that their mother, my beloved wife, wants to play too! :P And believe me, she has never been interested in games of any sort. I won't claim that I know much about gaming and all, and perhaps my play style is not 100% pro, but I know that this game can very easily bring families together :)

Thank you Steam and thank you Becomplex114 for giving me this chance to express my gratitude to Three Rings :)

P.S.: My in-game knight is Mecc. My kids are Lame-Cakes and EvilKane :)

I deserve the CE because we would be best friends in real life if we knew each other already, I would offer you sagely advice from time to time, and even buy you lunch once in a while. I'm not a greedy person, shiny stuff is just so appealing to my ferret-like mind, having played this game for around 2 months I can safely say this is a long term game for me, any extra CE will help me fund my guild and assist friends or new players with their journey. Just know your generous donation would not be wasted on me, as I am already experienced and will not waste the CE frivolously on the first UV my eye spies, I really just want to use it as a way to help 'soft boost' new players who might be discouraged from playing extensively due to the rising CE prices and slow grind to T3. In closing, you seem fairly awesome for offering this and I'm sure whoever you decide to give this to will appreciate your generosity, thanks for the opportunity to gain some extra CE, peas.

I have a thing for the

I have a thing for the fashions in Spiral Knights. As such, many people go with weapons and armors with the most worthy stats in game like the vog set while I spend my time looking at the wiki, imagining what my knight will look like with different sets of helmet and armor blending together. I'm a guy that prefers to be unique and so I usually spend my crowns and energy on weapons that people don't usually use. I'll admit, I wasted quite a lot of energy, crowns, mats and time grinding to make those weapons, and usually that weapon is really not as good as other weapons. But as time goes by, I became an end game player with a guild of my own and I spend time telling people about the goods and bads of different equipments and their stats. I enjoy teaching new players and passing on our skills and knowledge about this game to them and nurturing them to be good end game players. I hope to continue doing so as more patches on equipments, more bosses and other related stuff in this game are being release into this game.

Additionally, I'm a person that likes doing event management. So I will organise in game events, competitions, quiz with CE as prize to contribute to the game's community bonding. I believe that I can make good use of this 10,000 CE not only for my own benefits but for others as well and making Spiral Knights an enjoyable experiences to all.

What I would do with 10k in CE

Well alot of times while in Haven near the AH shopping with crowns, people offer to sell me mats, its usually mats I have no use for, but they just need a few crowns to get them going again, or to craft, or to buy CE, etc. Some extra CE would allow me the ability to help newbies alot easier, without taking a loss all the time or as big (I gave 2k crowns for a bunch of random shards and a few 1* mats the other day total loss, but meh it was worth it, they didnt beg, they didnt spam trade, they were mature about how they went about it).

I would also use some of it for me, since we will be getting a new lines of weapons, and more so just doing runs of the new bosses, and new areas. Since CE will be getting expensive and I can not afford to invest in CE anymore for a while (due to financial restraints, bills, moving, etc, I will be unable to purchase anymore CE for many months).

I am sure there are a lot better stories coming along soon, but this is my story, and its straight to the point honest. It boils down to bills, and life not letting me afford to buy anymore CE for a while. I love this game, but sadly will soon not be able to play, let alone help new players if CE gets much more expensive.

IGN: Flynnerik

EDIT was to add IGN in case I get lucky enough to win.

Woo, free monies.

The non serious answer==
With the turbulence in the economy, the price of goods is rising, and I am among many who are having a hard time with the new market. Recently my Snipe drawn Chariot was repoed, and my Crash pod was foreclosed, casting me into the streets with nary a penny. I am forced to rely on Ecto drops and Gel cores for sustenance. My ration tickets are given to me only once a day, allowing for me to quickly forage into the dungeon for more food. This food is shared between me and my fellow box-buddies who live in the same abandoned room in the Town plaza. After each day, we somberly await the morrow to come so our regulatory Mist energy is restored so we may again work. Life is hard, and Vanaduke bless ye for supporting the unfortunate knights like us.

The Serious Answer==
Recently I've been having trouble using my allocated Mist energy. I have to decide between using it on a run, crafting armor sets for new friends I call over from other games, and trying to score a UV to make money. I have calculated that I need another 120k crowns and 6k CE to be geared to enter the devastating Tier 3. Each day I push into the Jelly gate to try and make money, and usually I only make enough to convert my daily 100 ME to 100 CE, and must rest for the next day, as the money is needed to craft. The new prices for upgrading has taken a toll on many, including me. I would be grateful if I received such a gift of 10k CE so that I may complete my equipment, and actually enter Tier 3 with a light heart and determination. I love Spiral Knights as an MMO. The creatures, the knights, the dungeons, the bosses, the thrill of running through an undead infested graveyard with a sliver of health left trying to make a mad dash for the elevator. It's an exciting game, but the enjoyment, although sweet, is oh so short. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

it'd be great if i could get more CE to help with my guild.
I'm an officer in the glorious defenders, and our players are mostly tier 2, currently upgrading to tier 3.
I am half tier 3, due to the sharing attitude of our guild. Alot of people in our group share, i have had other people from the glorious defenders donate me money and CE, and help me upgrade equips, it would be great if i could help in return when needed, because i dont want to look like i am taking advantage of other people. I want more people in my guild (including me) to get to tier 3, so we can catch up to those who already are. As of now, some in our guild are at tier 3 and are waiting for the rest of us, since we like to do most of our clockwork trips together in a group of four. It is a new guild, and we want more people to join, so the more pros there are, the more likely other people are to join.

My in-game name is Ironvalkyr

I've been playing spiral

I've been playing spiral knights for about a month now. This is by far my favorite mmo game, it has so much nostalgic feel from the old game boy and n64 zelda games. The animation is very cute, and the game play is engaging. In spite of lag and bug issues, I have been playing my heart out on this game. I've gotten many of my friends to join up as well, we play as Yordles from LoL (I'm Captain-Teemo, my buddy is Poppy XD).

I think I'd be a good person to receive this energy because I am always budgeting ce very well. I help ppl I meet advance in the game by teaching them the tricks to getting through areas without taking damage. I've done numerous jk dives carrying ppl who can't yet beat the king on their own, all while showing them what I do that works to defeat this lord of cubes. I'm working on Vanaduke now and gah he can be tough. I've gotten most of the levels leading up to him down very well, and am teaching all of my friends who are new to his castle about these dangers. I encourage everyone I know to start diving t3 when they can, even if it's just to experience the next level of difficulty before farming more jk (gotta get those sealed swords).

Basically if you give me some of this energy - I will make sure it lasts as long as possible. In fact, while upgrading several ppl, it will prolly replace it's self for most of what is taken away. Many ppl could take 10k energy and burn it away to race to 5* gear, what I would do differently is get several people equipped to dive the profitable zones to maintain the investment of ce so that it can repay it's benefits upon us several fold.

I've already purchased about $15 in CE and each time I get over 3x the value from it by offsetting crafting with mist energy and maximizing on dive profits with my gear rather than simply racing everything to max. With 10k ce I could easily get several people into t3 ready gear profiting and advancing themselves continually rather than simply unloading energy for a one time boost.

Whether you pick me to award any ce to or not - I want to thank you for returning and giving out to the community. There are many players who strive to play this game as free, or at least cheap... Recognizing that this resource is not going to be used by you - I appreciate that you are turning it over to players who will utilize and enjoy it ^_^,b

Can't tell if this is serious, so I'll try either way.

Well, I'm not trying to be greedy or anything for this, but I may feel I deserve this CE so I can help others out more then I do now. Its a good feeling and I enjoy it a lot. And since I'm at end-game and I have nothing to do, I always help others get to experience the whole game like I did. I really do love this game, I have 23 days of play time since I first started the first day of release. I always play everyday for hours and its a little sad and crazy of me. This game is just.. so amazing and fun even if the CE prices are kind of stupid and so is crafting.
For me there just always seems like something I can always do, its just fun! I don't care if people think this game is stupid or if they think OOO's stupid, I love this game because it has a lot of potential still. I still have faith in it.
Also yeah, thanks man. Its pretty cool you're doing this for others.

Hmmm

I would like the CE. Dont say I would deserve it.
If I had that much, I would pretty much do the same thing as you would and give it out to the community.
Maybe use some of it for equipment, and the rest just give to new players perhaps that need it more than vets like me.

Oh, and I love Spiral Knights for the art direction, sound track, and all around general good ol legend of Zelda-esque gameplay.

The reason for CE

Right now, I am relatively new to Spiral Knights.

I've recently gotten my 2* armor to venture the depths of tier 2. But as you might know, it is actually hard for a new player nowadays to just jump into Spiral Knights and sail along smoothly. The prices for CE has risen high and it's impossible for any new player who doesn't know what they are doing to maintain proper profits and CE levels to keep their game play going smoothly.

Therefore I believe you need to give the CE to those who need it; the future generations of the game who will continue to grow and pass on knowledge to the younger ones. I have 5 friends all about to join Spiral Knights and I wish to share the CE you are willing to offer amongst my friends and that shall smooth out the rough edges new players have to transition easily into Spiral Knights. The cycle shall continue and your donations will help the future of Spiral Knights and its community.

10,000 CE? I don't even know

10,000 CE? I don't even know what I'd do with that. >.> all I'd want is 1600CE, so I can craft my vog cub set and try vanaduke again :P I just tried and failed in a group of four, spending the last of my CE on him xD (320 + 160 + 80 + 40 + 20 + 10 = 640 CE ._.) Not even going to bother trying again until I have Vog. :x

Seriously though, wouldn't it be more beneficial to give out chunks of 5,800 CE? (800 + 400 + 200 + 20) x 4 = 5,800. That's the energy costs of crafting a full set of 5* gear from scratch. (helm + armor + shield + weapon)

I suppose 10,000 CE is just under enough to craft complete 5* gear (armor + helm + shield + 4 weapons) since that'd be 10,150. But really, getting 4 pieces of 5 star gear will really make someone get through the game a lot better.

Just makes sense to me. Wouldn't making 6 people have 4 pieces of 5 star gear be better than 3 people with 7?

If I were in your position, that'd what I'd do. Plus (on a selfish side) that'd leave 2200 left over, so that you could give me 1600CE so I can try vanaduke again :D

First of all, I'm going to

First of all, I'm going to define some things to make the impact of my arguments clearer.
This is what you asked of us:
"I will give away 10,000 CE to three people who post the best paragraph or two on why they deserve the CE and why they love spiral knights."
The primary issue I want to make clear is what "deserving" is.
My view is that you deserve something because you have a purpose for it.
As for the financial "need" aspect of my post which will inevitably play a factor. I can't say with all honesty that I am in absolute need of it.
10,000 energy is worth maybe $40/$50.
While that's no small sum of money, and I'd love nothing more than to get energy cheaper, that's actually around the cost of a normal console-game these days, and I have (and will) pay for things like that again.
I know that what you're (possibly) giving me is worth a lot,
I just don't feel that that argument is pertinent or valid in this situation, which I will address later.

You asked us to write on why we deserve the CE and why we love Spiral Knights.
I'm not sure what your paradigm for deserving is, so I may be out of line by saying this, but I think that they are one and the same.
My main argument is that I deserve the CE because I love Spiral Knights.
I was introduced to this game by the webcomic Three Panel Soul, run by Ian, who (I believe) designs this game.
Prior to the opening day of Spiral Knights (I was unable to get in on the Beta), I was a huge Three Panel Soul fan. The art style appealed to me.
On my first day of playing Spiral Knights, I was (pardon the pun) full of energy.
On my introduction to each new monster, I wanted to know more. The Devilites and Mewkats in particular were able to make me laugh on my first day each time they showed up. One such example of how much this game amused me was my first encounter with an Impastocube, where I shieldbashed it out of the other players' range so I could take a picture, nearly killing us all in doing so. The different styles the game offered as well as the theme of exploration on a constantly changing world were both also very interesting to me. Essentially, Spiral Knights kept me interested and intrigued to this very day.
Despite this, I tend not to spend money on this game, almost in whole because of two reasons:
a) I like a challenge.
b) If I started buying energy to solve my problems, I would never stop.
I have bought energy twice. Both times were to pay back a pay-to-play friend who financed my gear.
The most amount of energy I've ever had in my energy meter was 1500.
That was promptly used to help my friend (who had just joined) wisely buy his first set of 3* gear so he could join me in Tier 2 without being slaughtered.
Nonetheless, this game has provided me endless hours of enjoyment.
I thought that, as a Free to Play player, I'd be able to take a challenge from the self-imposed no-buying rule.
It was hard. 100 mist energy won't always get you enough to buy 100 crystal energy, unless you're talented.
As of late, it's been hard to keep playing, as Tier 3 has been delivering a steady dose of pain to me and my low amounts of energy.
In short, this game is very fun and I'd love the ability to play it without constantly having to wait 24 hours.

As I said earlier, the quality of being deserving is primarily derived from the purpose you intend to use it for.
And I intend to use my energy simply.
I have no noble cause.
But what I do have is the friends I mentioned earlier. Furthermore, I have the ability to use the energy responsibly.
Being new to this game, they are often intimidated by the Auction House and the like; I know one of my friends who just kept all his materials and waited on his mist to play, never selling and never trying to.
With that 10,000 CE, I intend to help them as well as myself.
I want to make new sets of gear, I want to buy the recipes I need, I want to do as many dungeons as possible, I want to beat all the bosses solo, I want to advance in this game.
I'm not attempting to be some sort of saint.
There's not really anything I can say that will change this from what it is-
I, like any other, would very much enjoy 10,000 CE.
I think my purpose for it is rational, and by choosing me you will benefit not only me, but the friend circle I have recently recruited.
I do not intend to buy them their way into the endgame. But I do intend to help them out when crafting costs are so high and CE is so hard to buy with just crowns.
That being said, I will end my post with this-
I love this game. I feel that under the criteria I have established for "deserving", I do fit the bill, and I would be immensely appreciative. I intend to spend this energy on upgrading my gear, as well as helping to outfit the friends I have on this game and keep them engaged. Thank you very much for your consideration.

Well, this is a sob story.

Well, this is a sob story. Being a cybernetic space wizard gypsy vampire is hard work. I was trained around 38 thousand years from now by a master space wizard, to become the perfect assassin. In the future the universe is ruled by the enclave of space wizards, they erected vast space telegraph lines to keep tabs on their domain and enforce order by means of being wizards who can incinerate people with their minds. The enclave of space wizards makes decisions by voting as they are very civilized and democratic. The most powerful wizard is the one who can maintain the largest assembly of clones, as the clone suffrage act of nuon 586 guarantees all clones the right to vote. This is why assassins are so important, instead of campaigning a rival space wizard will simply attempt to assassinate a large quantity of enemy clones in order to lower their voting power, thus raising their own.

It was on a mission to eliminate a number of clones of the powerful space lord mage kazikril that i encountered a problem! Sucked back in time through a black hole i found myself on an ancient planet full of dinosaurs and vampire bats. It was one such bat which turned me into a vampire, becoming immortal in the process. After battling the dinosaurs and surviving on the planet for thousands of years i eventually tamed them and trained them in the ways of knowledge and learnings. After becoming suitably advanced they constructed a time machine for me, and I was set to go back to my mission of assassination.

However they were just stupid lizards and the time machine screwed up! I was sent back to the future but not all the way! I found myself in an era of pre-space-wizardry, and bumped my head on an asteroid coming out of the time vortex. I was adopted by a traveling convoy of space gypsies who treated me as their own until my memory returned, at which point i bid them farewell and decided the smartest thing to do was to find a nice cozy uninhabited moon and make use of my immortality to simply wait for the proper time frame of my mission to come naturally.

As luck would have it the attractive looking moon i discovered was home to a species of flesh eating bacteria and robots. The robots, after seeing my plight, decided that in their quest to become human (it turns out they were more human than any of us) they would aid my suffering and give me metallic skin to protect me from the bacteria.

Heading out again on my journey i stowed away on a passing spacecraft which was heading in the direction I was going. The moron pilot crashed us into a cosmic tourbillon - these devices were constructed eons ago to help ground the chaotic universe into a state of regularity. Unfortunately im a space wizard, and the malleability of chaos is where i get my powers! Its just one thing after another! I only wanted to kill a few hundred clones!

I am stuck here on the metal heap until i can get far enough away that its effects stop interfering with my magic. And to do that I require massive amounts of energy. Wont you help a vampric cybernetic gypsy space wizard out?

10 000 CE you say? To be honest, i just want em.
Sure, actualy fun of Spiral Knight is how you get Energy, not how you spending it. But having this much en would be nice, especialy when you going on some serious raid with team. I do like Spiral Knight, i do love how it made, and stuff. My friends playing it, my brother playing, it's fun! Kinda sad, you can't have more than 3 buddies with you, but still it got it potential.
Do i deserve 10 000 CE? Hell i know. All i did so far is having fun. Do i love Spiral Knights? Hell i do.

I deserve it... I really do.

I deserve it because I don't have money to buy ce with money, and I can't easily earn that amount... I'm not really playing 7/24, even though I have no life. While energy prices are going up, I want a good armor, good weapons... Just like every other player. But when I use my precious crowns to buy energy, the only thing I can do is going to dungeons to earn crowns, so I can buy more energy and earn some crowns, because I don't have enough crown to buy items. So, I go to dungeons to earn money, but then when I go to dungeons I can only earn energy to afford my trips and perhaps little more energy, if I don't die. I am dying because I don't have good armors, good weapons. But I need good armors and weapons so I can earn crowns. Every time I see a player with 5* star stuff, I want them as well... But earning them is not really easy. I have to fight in dungeons, to get that armors, but its taking much time, much energy... And my only chance is selling in-game stuff and writing this text is here, but I'm not making much money with this money as well, you know... With this money all I can trade is the stuff I can buy for cheap prices and selling my materials, my precious materials... But when I'm selling my materials, I am also selling part of my soul. Because it means I can't craft items I want to craft. And writing here this text, is easier than any other way, it is also better than looking for hours to sell someone my materials, so I can earn 500 crown to go to dungeons. If I win this amount, I can finally get real armors...

@ Becomplex114

Hello Becomplex114,

You amassed a nice fortune in Spiral Knights. I can only assume you had enough fun times in Spiral Knights to earn that fortune. Why not hold onto your fortune in case you want to play again in the future?

If you do choose to leave, someone recommended that perhaps you donate to our summer haiku contest. This would be a very kind gesture, but I will always find a way to raise more funds to support Player Events.

My family and real life friends enjoy sponsoring creative play events if only to spread a little joy and laughter. My guild, Obsidian, is mainly just me and members of my family and a few real life gamer friends we have known for several years. Spiral Knights is something we do to spend more time together.

I started the Player run events category last month on the SK Wiki to inspire and promote creative and constructive player events. I personally raised funds through crafting to support my guild's popular player events, A Beastly Limerick Competition and our current Gremlin Haiku Hijinks. We have had such great support from players and Three Rings staff we have never met before. They came out of the wood work to lend a hand here and there with cataloging entries, format coding, publicity and even script acting in-game to story board wallpaper awards as a lasting memento to the spiral fun times. I tend to add more prizes to the pot as our competitions draw to an end depending on how lucky I got at crafting, AH purchases and how new content evolves.

We have many more events planned in the future including Halloween Cosplay, Baby Snipe Nursery Rhymes, and Jelly King Recipes as well as events revolving on new content releases. We will also be cosponsoring events with other Guilds in the future.

Kindest regards,
Raspberry/Iceni

A new Approach

I would like to bring a new approach to this event that you have graciously set up. I believe that every user here deserves this prize as they have all reached a point where they have been able to contribute to the Forums, where many people seek help from. I applaud all of you for taking the time to do so. I take pride in being honest, supportive, helping user to the Spiral Knights game play. You have a mass quantity of Ce and i feel that maybe you could give a lesser prize of 1 thousand Ce.

This way more people could celebrate the gift that you are to give, which is an act of philanthropy, and i applaud you on that as well. As you are to leave Spiral Knights i wish you the best as you return to the best as you return to the living, breathing exhilarating world that awaits you.

Your regards,
user xuezhou

I feel I best deserve the CE

I feel I best deserve the CE because I have quickly learned the value of it, and even supported OOO myself by dropping $25, but that is the limit of my personal commitment. I have learned to not dilute the market with massive amounts of crafted items hoping for UV, as others have, where I instead craft 1 or 2 of an item and make sure they sell for a reasonable price before trying again.

With a free 10k CE I would bring friends, NEW PLAYERS, to Spiral Knights who would otherwise refuse to play, and I will equip them efficiently with the CE, only as much equipment as they need. More players in SK, without wasteful spending of CE, will be a net gain for Spiral Knights.

Gift that keeps on giving.

The moment I saw spiral knights gameplay I fell in love with it. I have been playing this game since beta, and expect to play it for a long long time, probably until they kick me out or close the servers down. I really don't deserve the CE, I have more than enough. However I want this CE, and its not for my personal satisfaction, I would like to take the 10k CE and distribute it to those I see playing day in and day out that deserve it, most likely those that don't know about this forum post or don't want to beg for CE. I'd love to take this gift and further spread the wealth so to speak. I recently did a similar thing with a bunch of Caliburs someone was giving away, I had the most fun running through Teir 1 and distributing them to those who still had their Proto Swords out.

I've been playing Spiral

I've been playing Spiral Knights for a while now, and it's both unconventional and exciting; unlike any other game I've played before. It's hard for me to find a game that I'll stick with for a long time, but SK is definitely one of those games. Because of this, I'm really interested in seeing the community grow. More than once have I held impromptu hide-and-seek games in Haven for prizes and giveaways. I'm active on in-game and on the forums to give newbies advice and see what things are going on in suggestions and general discussion. I've also started a YouTube channel and have been posting videos every week in response to this thread in the interest of community building. I sincerely believe that Spiral Knights will become something far greater than what any of us expected it to be.

One last note: I think that Iceni should be one of the recipients, because in my opinion he has done a much greater job than I have at helping this community grow. If you come down to a choice between me and him, please choose him.

Cheers,
Snorlax

I can't say I deserve the CE,

I can't say I deserve the CE, especially not more than anyone else in particular, but I think that I would be a good candidate. I just started about a week ago, and I love playing the game. Having limited funds to set aside for games, I like to look for free games with a lot of potential. That way when I do get a little extra, I feel good about spending some money on that game. Spiral Knights is one of these games. I never ask for anything from anyone in-game, always liking to do things for myself or finding friends to do things with. While I have been able to support myself so far, the price of CE climbing so fast has made it almost impossible for me to do anything other than a T1 run each day, and that only supplies about a 50 energy profit. I love the design of the game with all the different paths for equipment and the ever changing dungeon levels, but sadly I don't think I can keep playing when I'll be stuck in T1 with the high costs of crafting and CE and the low returns of crowns. This would definitely help me further myself and hopefully enjoy delving deeper into the levels. And as with any game I've played, I always love helping out new players in return. I always know where I started, and sometimes it's just nice to surprise new people with a little extra help that gives them the extra excitement to keep going, possibly investing money into a great product later on down the line.

I believe that this topic is too GaiaOnline to me. /loljoke

Personally, not trying to destroy other peoples' hopes, but you should keep your precious CE (well, at least a part of it) with your little knights. I mean, who knows when this game will become more awesome than sliced bread?

As a example, I have almost 1 million gold worth of items in GaiaOnline, but I only play it for a few months per year. I always ragequit for the silliest things (the bizarre community sometimes scares me too much), but I always come back for some more months of silly fun.
Also, Ragnarok Online. Hate the community, love the game. Play for some months, ragequit, come back after months.

But yeah, it's your choice. If you are really going to abandon the game, keep going. I vote for Iceni, by the way.
Whichever you choose, good luck with your online adventures.

Hmm

Well I personally don't know who deserves it the most. While I would love to have 10k CE seeing as how I am a F2P and currently
have 700CE I don't think I deserve it anymore than some of these other people. I think using the CE for prizes in forum competitions
is a great idea because it will allow people the chance to earn it rather than just get lucky with a post about why they deserve it.
But anyways, no matter what, I think it's great that you're giving it away rather than doing nothing with it at all.
Good luck with whatever your choice is and thank you for allowing me the chance to share my opinion.

Put it to use

I also basically agree with Iceni. Use it to promote some amusing player contests.

If you're not up for doing it yourself, give it to me and I'll do it for you =). Or round up someone else. A search of the general forum should reveal a handful of people who've run successful contests in the past.

Hello sir. First of all I

Hello sir.
First of all I would like to say that I've played this game for 73 hours during a period of under two weeks. Needless to say, I love the game. I love the graphics, the fighting style and the gear. During the period of under two weeks I've introduced lots of friends to the game, both IRL and from other games. I've helped them getting started by providing them with CE and Crowns, mostly to get them interested so I can have someone to play with. I have already supported the company by buying the starter pack and will probably continue to support OOO in the future too.

So now, to the real point, why do I need/want the CE you are giving away? Firstly, I am not in a financial situation where I can purchase more CE with real life money at the moment. Secondly, I would use it to get more people interested in the game and (hopefully) convince them to continue to play and spend money on this awesome game. Additionally I would be able to get more casual friends interested in the game, maybe also family. Not that it matters but I guess I can also add that I am from Norway, and even though I've heard the servers are positioned in the US, and that may be the cause of some ping lag and such I experience, I will still continue to play this game and hope for future European servers.

As a small foot note I guess I can also say that I'm the founder of the (un)official IRC Chat Channel for Spiral Knights on Rizon (#spiral-knights).

Thanks for considering my "application" and have a nice day! :)

EDIT: My In-Game name is the same as my forum name just in case ;)

Why I love Spiral Knights

I love spiral Knights for multiple reasons. Being that it is Free to Play and is a HUGE consumer, I love it. All my friends play it and we can talk here, there, whenever. Also, OOO has made a good amount of game play being that there is snarby, king jelly, and vanaduke. Yes, you can buy CE but I can't with real money being that I am poor. At the moment I only have 41 CE and love spiral knights just beacuse the way it is. I don't care for begging and try to ever do it. If I get CE,I try to help people as much as possible giving them some funds that they need, putting them for their needs instead of me for my needs. Spiral Knights is awesome! For whoever that wins, I thank Becomplex114 for giving those who need CE, a fortune of CE to them. @The winners, I hope that you thank Becomplex114 from the bottom of your heart.

Why you should choose me...

Before I tell you why I deserve the 10kCE I'll tell you a little about myself.
I'm a Middle Schooler, I don't often buy CE, I usually get it as a present when; for example; I get a good exam score. I have been playing SpK since (I want to say) May, and was introduced by a friend who found the game while watching 3DS videos on YouTube!
Why I deserve the CE...
Like I said I'm a Middle Schooler who doesn't purchase CE often. I started playing in may running off mist and once or twice bought a little CE after my friends started too. I wasn't playing SpK as often as now until I broke my collar bone at school by falling down a hill. I was unable to go to school or pursuit the sport that I love; Tennis. I was doing work most of the day studying for finals ect. But in the free time I had, I played video games with my friends. We usually try to find free games we can download legally, so SpK checked out. With the little energy I had I was able to level-up and help my friends too. I also was able to start a guild (The Golden Warriors or TGW) with the help of a friend Rmooch ,while my friends are out enjoying their summer I'm stuck at home watching TV or playing SpK trying to get by on the 900CE I got by using mist on runs and selling most of my valuable mats. I don't like asking my parents for money to spend on SpK as I know they worked very hard to make the money as somebody did to make the money for your energy, and in the time I have been injured I have not bought very much CE (maybe a few bucks worth) and have been saving CE any where I can to craft weapons. Now even though I have been trying to save up, and I'm stuck at home with the game, I still love it. I love the interaction between friends, guild mates, and people I just meet in Haven and on runs. When they talk to you and you have weapons or aromor in comon and you joke, you kind of make a new friend that becomes part of your family, your Spiral Knights family. I can say that most of my guild mates are part of my great big SpK family. I can honestly say I love Spiral Knights.

Please consider me as a possible winner,
Sincerely,
Imafiretrukingator(IGN)

NOPE

Well I figure this is worth a shot.
I'm not going to write a GOD AWFUL AMOUNT or put on my monocle and top hat so i can bring out the internet smart dictionary.
I think all I have to say is that for the forums, I'm currently participating in the shoe-box art contest, and have pretty much done nothing else worth-noting. I've just woken up, had cereal, and have found myself already on the SK forums.

AMAZING I KNOW.

I REALLY LIKE (because everyone says they love it. pfffft. I wouldn't jump off a cliff to save spiral knights. sorry guys) Spiral Knights. The art was what brought me here, and my friends (and the fact that this was the ONLY MMO to work on this computer) were what kept me here in the first place, because HONESTLY THIS GAME BLEW HARDCORE CAPTAIN CRUNCH CHUNKS IN THE BEGINNING.

I'm glad that i stuck with this game though, it really is great. I've been here since the auction house was released, so I'm really not that new, I've had about 1,000 CE from doing nothing but buying it from the market, it's ALL saved up for crafting, so I might as well have nothing.
5,000 CE is ALL THAT I NEED to get to where i want to go, and honestly, I'd buy it myself if i had a job.

BUT I CANT BECAUSE MY 15th BIRTHDAY IS ABOUT 14 DAYS AWAY. I WANT CHILD LABOR SO I CAN GET MONEY DANG IT.
so there. I guess i lied about writing a lot. WHOOPS. IGN: Marqui

Chain of inspiration

Do I deserve it? Not as much as my sense of self-entitlement might say, I'd figure. So instead of trying to come up with a pseudo-justified reason of why I deserve it, let me tell you what I would do with it instead. First off, I'm a new player, but I have learned the game fast, up to the fine details. I've pulled my sizeable circle of friends into the game so that they can enjoy it as well and introduce yet others to it, thus expanding the amount of players in this game. Why? Partly because I love the game and I want to share it with others, partly because I love the game and want to share it with others. Yes, I just used the same reason twice. You know why? Because it deserves to be mentioned twice, that's why. I think Spiral Knights is an innovative little game, which always draws me into new games and makes me want to build giant golden statues of a thumbs-up for it. I want to share it with my friends so I can play with them, even if there are so many of them that we cannot all get into the same party at once since it is limited to four.

That is why I want to create a guild for them, to unify us. We've already put together a plan to pool our resources to create a guild and hand all our recipes and materials to one person who would do the crafting, so we don't double-up on recipes or waste materials. I am therefore going to be the crafter for a few dozen new people, and even though they will eventually be able to pay me back on the crowns and energy, that would take a while, and I would first need the amount of crowns and energy. That way I can get everyone into Tier 2 sooner, which will speed up the amount of crowns we earn with which we can buy Crystal Energy. Any donation of CE is therefore greatly appreciated, because grinding is next to impossible in Spiral Knights, so doing so for a few dozen people would take ages. A donation of 10000 CE would be incredibly amazing and inspire us all.

In fact, if you choose me as one of your winners, then once I have helped my friends out so that we can get to generating enough crowns for it, I will mimic your offer and give away two generous CE donations to other players, in the hopes of creating a continuous chain of giving so that we can all enjoy this game and inspire the community. In this situation, there are only winners.

Thank you for your offer and your time spent reading this post. Have fun and good luck doing whatever you will do in the future! (Which apparently may involve TF2, which I plan on trying out soon now that it has become F2P.)

And if I had ten thousand CE, (If I had ten thousand CE)
Well, I'd buy you a Grey Owlite, (A nice elemental defensive shield)
If I had ten thousand CE I'd buy your love…

If I had ten thousand CE I'd build a snipe habitat in our yard
If I had ten thousand CE You could help, it wouldn't be that hard
If I had ten thousand CE Maybe we could put like a little tiny snipe feeder in there somewhere
You know, we could just go down there and hang out
Like watch all the snipes helicopter around
There would be an PvP arena and an unbinding shop
Like all those unbound 4*s and 5*s

They’ll have unbound Blackhawks but they don't have unbound Antiguas!
Well, can you blame 'em?
Uh, yeah!

Well, I'd buy you a Vog Coat (But not a real Vog Coat that's cruel)
And if I had ten thousand CE, (If I had ten thousand CE)
Well, I'd buy you an exotic pet (Yep, like a Scuttlebot, or a Greaver!)
And if I had ten thousand CE, (If I had ten thousand CE)
Well, I'd buy you a UV Max! (Ooh, all them crazy awesome gear)
And If I had ten thousand CE I'd buy your love

If I had ten thousand CE We wouldn't have to health rezz no more
If I had ten thousand CE Now, we’d energy rezz ‘cause it costs more
If I had ten thousand CE We wouldn't have to wear one star gear
But we would wear one star gear!
Of course we would, we’d just have lots
And buy really expensive UVs
That’s right, all the hi-… maximum UVs!
Mmmmmm, Mmmm-Hmmm

If I had ten thousand CE, (If I had ten thousand CE)
Well, I'd buy you a Valkyrie Mail (But not a real Valkyrie Mail, that's cruel)

Well, I'd buy you some art (A 3Panel Soul or a Shoebox!)
If I had ten thousand CE, (If I had ten thousand CE)
Well, I'd buy you a mechaknight (Haven't you always wanted a mechaknight?)

If I had ten thousand CE, I’d buy your love…

*flexes fingers and cracks knuckles* Here...we........go.

I have had plenty of experience with free-to-play games in my time, including the ever-advertised and somewhat-unliked Artix Entertainment games. My experience has been mixed, and at first I was skeptic of the benefits of paying to enjoy the full benefits of these games. The first one I eventually relented and paid a small sum of money for was DragonFable. That was well over three years ago and I still continue to play today. The style of gameplay and the quirky sense of humor (and more recent darkness and maturity) in the writing drew me in. Since then, I have only made a handful of purchases to these types of games. Unfortunately, no other free-to-play game held me in like DragonFable did. Either it got stale or the benefits just did not add up to what I paid for. Since then, I have only grown more skeptical and quizzical about paying actual money for these free-to-play games.

Enter Spiral Knights. I found out about the game through Steam and a good friend of mine talked me into trying it out. Needless to say, I did not regret it. After my first day or so of owning the game, I quickly found out that Spiral Knights was not like most other free-to-play games. It has all the content available to players that pay for benefits and all the content for those that choose not to. Everything the game has to offer is available to everyone. Crystal Energy is not a requirement except for the instances where you need more than 100 units of Energy for Alchemy in the game. That said, it was not long before I decided to purchase a Party Pack for me and a couple other friends who play with me, including the aforementioned "good friend of mine". I do not regret the purchase for sure. That friend, at least, deserved it since he now lives about a thousand miles away from me and continues to purchase video game gifts for me over Steam (Minecraft as well). This game is unbelievably fun and despite the simple premise of the game's concept (go into dungeons, kill things, buy stuff, sell stuff, make stuff, profit), the formula is just so enticing that I keep coming back, not least due to the close friends I know who play the game. I suppose I should liken the game to Pokemon (no, I do not play anymore). It is the same basic formula with a few twists and new iterations here and there, but it is the same structure that holds it together. I believe I will play Spiral Knights for a long time. If doing enough Royal Jelly runs to amass twenty-four Jelly Gems (as of now) did not grow stale, then neither will the rest of the game. Now, do I deserve one of the Crystal Energy prizes offered in this giveaway? I cannot say. I certainly have no crippling disability that prevents me from being able to enjoy anything but this game. I have no problem with money since I have a job that pays twenty-eight dollars-per-hour (I am eighteen years of age, by the way. Praise be specialization in education.). At the basest definition, I am quite simply a Spiral Knights addict. I will be delving into the Clockworks soon, and I will certainly be doing it again for a long time.

Eh, I'll try :|

I think I deserve the 10kce, because I would buy alot of things that would really help me in the game. Now I just keep dieing like it 3-4 hits, in T2. But in T3, oh my god. I don't think this will be enough, but I always help other people with their JK runs. And sometimes I lend crowns/ce to people. So I don't really get alot of CE left at the end of the day. It would be just...AMAZING, for someone to give me 10,000ce. Wow. I would then help even MORE people with the rest of my CE that I don't need. Please oh please I hope I win. Thanks for reading. Oh oh, I absolutely love Spiral Knights aswell. I play it everyday (how sad am I?) I just like it, because you can collect materials and things and sell them. *Crosses fingers*

Paragraph i guess.....

First off, I'm not gonna go the typical way with the sob story, or I'm a noob and I need it. I would just like to say I wish i found out about Spiral Knights sooner. I saw an article on Yahoo about the best 5 free games, and it doesn't surprise me that Spiral Knights was number one. Easy to play, original concept, cool objectives, and the ever changing gameplay (with that little bit of lag causing some frustration ;) separate Spiral Knights from other MMO's. 10,000 ce would inspire me to create my very own Snipe Farm! I do wonder why you quit Spiral Knights, I'd guess maybe some frustration, personal issues, or C, anything i did not list (which includes quite a lot) I myself also love TF2, mostly being a spy, sniper, or a doctor, in short the Support. I'd love to play with you sometime, even though i am quite the noob! :D I'm not gonna say i need it soooo badly, but it would help me improve greatly. I hope sometime you could resume playing Spiral Knights, maybe once PvP or the unbind shop comes out? Gremlin Boss? New Equipment? If not, your legacy will always live on.

Thanks for taking the time to read my paragraph, I hope it wasn't 2 long!

Getting some CE would be

Getting some CE would be nice. I can't afford to pay cash for it, the Crown-to-CE ratio is rapidly worsening (3k when I started and had no crowns to 4k when I was working on 1-star gear to 5k now that I'm finishing my 2-star gear and starting to look at the 3-star gear I'll need CE to craft), and, well... it would be nice to not lose a day of doing stuff every time I want to craft a couple 2-star items. I can't say that I need this 10,000 CE prize you're handing out, because nobody really needs it -- we can all buy it with crowns, or cash if we can spare it. But I would greatly appreciate it. With CE to spare I could afford to craft items for the friends I want to introduce to Spiral Knights without having to set aside hours or days of play time to do it.

As for why I love Spiral Knights, it's because the game is casual-friendly while also having a place for hardcore players to thrive. Its gameplay is familiar to many, reminiscent to adventure games like A Link to the Past as it is, while being a new form of MMO gameplay. I love the mix of complexity and simplicity in its small number of damage types and status effects juxtaposed on a rich mixture of possible armor/shield/weapon combinations that allows for several distinct styles of play. It's a game I can get friends to jump into without taking more than a few minutes to explain gameplay and controls, but one that most of them won't quickly tire of. Finally, because the game is free-to-play and because of its Mist/Crystal Energy mechanics, it's a game I don't have to sell them on. They'll give Spiral Knights a try because they know they don't have to pay for it, and if they find it's worth paying for (and they can afford to,) then they will.

My paragraph

I'll try not to lean into everyone elses way of a sobby story, but here I go.

I would like to receive the 10k CE because of my age. I am only 14, and I cannot have a credit card yet. This being said, it means I cannot buy my own CE. As many of you know, mist energy runs out very fast indeed. If i could have the 10k CE, I could actually get some better gear, as well as support my guild with funds. My guild that I am part of, Ghost Elite, only really has one rich member. He, unfortunately, barely EVER gets on, and refuses to give any of us any funding for the moment, as he feels it might be wasted. I disagree with this statement for several reasons. One of which is I am dedicated. Once i start a game, or server, I don't leave that game or server for usually about a year and a half, if not more. One of the main reasons is the company *most of the time*. They usually produce something that is only micro-transaction available, and I cannot get it. This being to the fact that my parents cannot afford to give me money off their credit cards, as they barely make ends meet currently.

Why do I love spiral knights?

Spiral knights is a unique game. They interpret the use of energy and crowns, thus making it more of a timed game. You cannot get the best items by playing all day, as chances are you will run out of energy. Energy is basically the whole game. That being said, many games have it so if you play a lot, each day, you can get to a faster level, or rank, way faster. This is why many gamers cannot get good items in games, let alone anything. Some gamers actually have lives, (OMG right?), thus them not being able to input so much time into this game. I do have a life, but I put my time into this game when i can. Spiral Knights energy system helps those who do not have much time to become balanced with those who do have time. Sure you can buy your energy, if you can afford.

Hope I win, if not, ohh well.
