Has anyone else noticed how the Trojan is such a unique monster? I have thought so, since it comes only in 2 flavors, the black one and the white one. I personally thought, "that's a really cool monster, why aren't there more with a similar theme?". After racking my brains for 15-20 minutes, and some editing and revising by my friend, i finally came up with a semi-fleshed out idea on a new T3 boss, based on what the Trojan is based from, Chess.
i had an idea for a T3 stratum based on chess, complimented with a T3 Chess-piece based boss.
-Levels before the boss-
I thought it would be cool to have a chess-like theme, or a castle like theme in the palace, full of stone rooks, statues of SK monsters, and lots of black/white tiling. There could be stationary destructible giant towers that fire arrows in one direction, just like the cartwheels in FSC, except the arrows would fire much faster and damage much less (perhaps a glow around the arrow could indicate a status effect caused when hit?)
There would also be a giant level in the shape of a chess board, maybe not as big as 8x8 squares (gosh that would be 64 sections to clear out ><), but perhaps something smaller, like 5x5, each with rooms 12x12 tiles wide (having black/white crystals that break to split the rooms would be a nice aesthetic touch)
and a side thought- hehe, imagine a large floor with lava on it in a checkered pattern, and you had to water you way across with monsters coming at you :D
Those were the only levels i could think about for now, but its a start, i guess.
-The Boss-

Who or what could this magnificent boss be? What does He/Her/It possibly look like?!?!

You guessed it, its a giant morphing chess piece (i bet some of you saw that coming, didn't you. =.=)
My idea is that the Boss will be split into 4 Stages (Pawn -> Bishop -> Queen -> King)
- Knight is ignored b/c there's the Trojan
-Transformations between stages will be done by the giant chess piece moving towards the center of the screen, then being enveloped by a flash of light before the light explodes outwards, revealing the next stage
-Im thinkinng that the way this boss is made, it will be another Construct-type boss, though it can probably be adjusted.
-Cannot be set to sleep, shock, or curse
- Trojan spawns only give Hearts
- Minion spawns give small hearts, and only rarely
The stage will be set on a giant Chessboard, about the size of Vanaduke's room, except more square. The boss itself will be fairly large, about the same size as Vanaduke waterstands will be on the center of the left + right walls
Stages:
Pawn- lots of smaller enemies, The giant Pawn itself does simple attacks, perhaps it jumps around, squashing all knights to death. Another attack for it would be a single giant laser beam coming from the center of the ball at the top of its head, which only fires in one direction, and is the width of a trojan. Pawn is completely stationary while firing the laser
-Weak to Elemental attacks, everything else normal
Bishop- All smaller monsters are destroyed, and instead 3-4 trojans (special trojans?) spawn instead. The trojans will have increased attack (maybe something like the slag guards, except not so overpowered) and will do their thing. The Giant Bishop will now play a more passive role, being the main healer. The bishop will do 2 types of healing- Large healing onto 1 unit (Trojan or itself), AoE healing (all enemies are healed moderately, including itself). the Bishop's attacks will be slightly more varied, with it firing 2 small beams (size of the ones at Roarmulous twins) that will close in on each other in a V shape. It will also periodically fire moderate size fireballs (approx same size as the ones circling the mask at vanaduke) targeting one player.
- Weak to Shadow attacks, everything else normal
Queen- 1-2 trojans left on the field (all others destroyed, and its a new spawn, so the previous trojans are destroyed). The queen has 2 Fireballs circling it. Attacks by sending a flurry of small multi-coloured bulelts outwards, like a explosion of projectiles from its center (each colour represents a different status effect, green: shock, red: fire, magenta: Curse, etc). Occasionally the base of the chess piece will open up, firing 4 homing rockets (like the one from gun puppies) in all 4 directions of the compass. Another attack is that it shoots out giant fireball mortars from the head of the chess piece, that explode upon hitting the floor into smaller fireball projectiles that shoot outwards.
-weak to Elemental, slightly resist everything else
King - Spawns 2 groups of 4-5 small minions, with 1 trojan in each group. When spawning new groups of minions, last group of minions dissapearAttacks with shooting out 2 cones of bullets in opposite directions (sort of like how the autogun works, but much more bullets and a wider cone) with 2 rockets included in there. Occasionally sets itself on fire (immune to damage, and will stay that way until water ball thrown at it) and stomps around like the Pawn. Another attack would be it firing 2 laser beams from the head of the king, that would circle around clockwise or counterclockwise (hurts minions too). Will also occasionally send out a shock wave across the whole map that would slightly damage and give short shock knights, and boost the minion's attack power (they dont get hurt from this) for a short time.
-Weak against Normal, Elemental + Shadow Damage do normal damage, Everything else is slightly resisted.

this idea is open to suggestions, and about 1/2 of the ideas on that big wall of text up there i just made up on the spot while typing it out.
in all reality, this would take an enormous amount of coding to finish, but it would be cool if it actually made it past the filtering process and was worked on.

TL;DR
I just bullshitted a whole new level idea based around the idea of Chess and the Trojan. It would most likely be a T3 level if made, and it will have a giant morphing chess piece as the boss for stages, along with having a chess-themed stratum for it. My idea is for it to be a Construct-type level, but thats just idle thought.
