As for the monthly-contest thing, we'll see. I'm afraid a monthly contest may dry out the fanbase of the game a bit too much. On top of that, I got school now. Nope, this has nothing to do with me not wanting to spend money on more CE.

Let him do his job...
Just be patient.
If it turns out that he has to spend the extra hour/day reading through the submissions to pick out a winner, then let him do it. I would rather it not be rushed out and the reader would make sure he was sure of who was the winner.

Only added those in, everything else is the same.
Won't make a huge difference, but it'll make it easier to understand what's being emphasized and what is supposed to be the guy thinking.

Remiliaoftheearth, Zettalux isn't getting paid to run these contests, right? Quite the opposite: He (or she) is giving away prizes from his own coffers, out of the goodness of his heart. On top of that, he has to wade through a bunch of half-baked writing (including mine). So how about showing some respect and gratitude?

Already starting my next story, no matter when the next contest is, or if it happens. I've taken into mind your critiscism, and my next one is about Remiliaoftheearth (again) but this time I'm going to keep rewriting until I get what I'm aiming for: the story will go from the crash of Remilia's pod to the time she becomes T-2. I intend it to be rather realistic, based along the real Remilia's (me) story. Right now I have a lot of sentimental thought-gibberish for the first part "Cradle: A new world".
I have to critiscise my own work, because I don't really have anyone else to do it.
I hope my next story will be a bit more to your liking.

Bump, and...
While many of us are being patient waiting for the results of the contest, I think it would be nice of Zettalux to at least post an update on his progress in terms of reading our submissions. It's been a week since he said he would be done, and he hasn't responded yet in terms of when he is going to be done, or if he is done.
I admire his willingness to host this contest as well as his gratitute for giving out the rewards, however I would like him to at least notify us once in a while so we don't have to keep looking on the forums hoping to see the results.
That being said, bump so that this doesn't get lost in the sea of topics...

As a result, I won't be able to post or check my players mail until that time. Can someone post me the results of this contest via player mail when Zettalux decides, so if I can get on before it's deleted, I can see who wins? It'd be appreciated. IGN is display name.
Also, if anyone decides to do me this favor, post here saying he/she will, so I don't get like 10 mail all saying the same thing?

*Begin Rant*
Before my little rant, some things I want to point out...
1. I know Zettalux is busy.
2. I know it's his money and he chooses to do what he wants with it.
3. I know it's his choice if he wants to end the contest on a whim.
Now onto my little rant...
First of all, why were we not informed that the contest was over? I have been eyeing the forums for the past couple of weeks waiting to see if Zettalux was going to actually read the submissions we presented to him. He did close it once, yes, but he re-opened it once he found that there were indeed people out there with stories to submit. In fact, he said he was going to read all the stories over the weekend on the day of the deadline, and here we are nearly a month later and only NOW we are informed that the contest has been closed. What this displays is that Zettalux is dishonest, lazy, or simply has been too busy. Whatever the case may be, he has not updated on what he was doing, and left a lot of people hanging out here wondering how the contest was going.
Second, he neglected to even recognize the time and effort we and the rest of the submitters have put into making our stories to have them submitted just for this contest. I myself dedicated 2 weeks on my storyline just to have it submitted in a fashion that I was pleased with. I'll admit, I didn't read any of the other submissions, and I should have. I was planning on reading them after the contest was over so I myself could see where people lined up. So I will be open about it, after this post I am going and reading those other storylines myself, just so that I myself can recognize the work others have done.
Finally, and I know Zettalux has school, but surely he has more time on his hands than he is making it seem like. I myself am in school, I am taking and have taken Advanced Placement classes, as well as several (3 in fact) band classes, one of which is one of the top ~16 in the nation. This means I am working nearly day and night preparing for our performance. So tell me, how did I have time to spend 2 weeks writing a storyline? I don't know about Zettalux, but if he doesn't have the time to read ~8 submissions, then he is telling at least me that he has less time than me to work on things out of school. And I don't know, I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH WORK HE HAS TO DO EVERYDAY, but I wouldn't let the effort of those who have worked hard on their own storylines go to waste just because Zettalux cannot read their submissions. At least he can recognize their efforts, if that is the very best Zettalux can do...

I've most definitely read all of them. Truth is, I didn't see much of a reason to give out CE this time.
I appreciate the effort of people who submitted this time, but I am unfortunately cancelling the contest as a whole. There were 9 official submissions, but half of which just seemed to be unserious. Given the small amount of submissions, I can only guess that meant that I had to give rewards to them. This is my CE that I have paid for, and I'm not about to give out freebees.
I absolutely respect those who submitted and tried; there were some good reads from this and I'm sorry it came to this. If you want to go host a contest yourself, go ahead.

On behalf of Psychodestroyer (cuz I'm him. Duh.) People are free to ignore my last post on the request for people to mail me the results, reasons be obvious ><.
Ah, pity then. Last minute rush to get my story up to scratch, then it doesn't get judged. Ah well, too bad really, I thought I might have a chance this time, seeing all that positive feedback.
I'm working on another story, just for the heck of it, and really, I have no-idea if it'll be as good as my last. Last one felt a bit dark...made me feel emo after I wrote it ><. But hey, people liked it, so it's cool.
No hatred here, just disappointment that there wasn't a nice conclusion to THIS story. Even seeing someone else win this would've been cool, leaving people to try and surpass the last winner. Unfortunately, it was not to be. :(
Moral of this story....WRITE BETTER STORIES ANYWAY! Then have a few of your best up your sleeve for when a contest pops up :D
But I still won't be on the game till November. Fooey.
