I thought of an idea for a fan-comic i'd like to see, but i'm not an artist, nor do i know any spiral knight fan-artists. It's about the recent update.
First panel is Feron or whoever is important enough asking his assistant how the mineral collecting is going this week.
The assistant says it's been terrible, the worst since the skylark crash.
Feron or whoever asks "What? Why?!"
The assistant points over to the food machine in haven's town square, which has a lengthy queue and has a funnel above it which is overflowing with red/purple/yellow minerals.
Feron or whoever shouts "BISCOTTI!!!", while biscotti hides or runs or something.
You guys can take this idea, change it, or ignore if you want. I'd like to see it if you draw it or something similar though. c:

Hey, what's up guys.
I've been in and about this thread a couple of times in the past few weeks and I'm stunned at how good at lot of people are! Every time I've peeked through some work here so I get a little more inspired to take a shot at it (although I really don't practice art myself), and this time I think I'll actually make an attempt. The only problem is that I'm not really sure where exactly to start. I have an idea of how I might like to make something, but I need a little more guidance; and searching for tips and tricks on Youtube isn't going very well. So at one point I came back here and suddenly realized that a lot of these speed art videos would be a perfect way for me to get an idea of how to go about it. The only problem is, I can't really tell what your guys' methods are when the footage is sped up.
I've got Photoshop CS5, I've got a fairly good tablet, all I need now is an idea of what some of the unique ways you guys make your own art are. I won't ask this of anyone in particular but just simply to any and all of you, would anyone be willing to make a sort of Spiral Knights art video tutorial? I understand that not a lot of people have microphones and recording software to make a tutorial but if anyone here happens to, I, as well as many others over time, would greatly appreciate help in the form of something like this.
If something similar already exists, then I guess I haven't been looking in the right places, because I can't seem to find anything! On the other hand, just a few tips and tricks typed out if you've got some free time would be equally as awesome of you.

I've actually been watching stuff off your livestream for the past few days (as in since you made your post), so this post is pretty delayed. Of what I've seen it does give me plenty of ideas, I was able to practice a bit (it just isn't anything worth posting yet because everything is sketches). I really appreciate it though, thank you.

I've noticed your livestream is on the old version of the site, which makes it a little more difficult to join in (though I've managed). If and when you do a livestream, do you only post it here when it's Spiral Knights related?

*GASP* LoN actually arted something!
Methinks this is my first contribution to this thread.
So, apparently scanning pictures and then uploading them onto my computer makes everything super pixelated. Had to take a picture with a camcorder and then upload it. Unfortunately, the quality is still a bit blarghity, but it works.
Little backstory. The Crimson Guard is a special type of Mecha Knights I use in my stories. Fully sentient, thinking Mecha Knights with emotions and real thought. 'Inartificial intelligence,' Seerus calls it. :3 As you can tell, it looks a lot sturdier compared to ingame Mecha Knights. Partially cause drawing those messy Mecha Knight bodies is really hard, and partially cause it wouldn't make sense for the Gremlin's most powerful killing machines to be built fragile. :D
So yeah. Might not be the best art ever, but this is the best thing I've ever drawn (aside from weapon concept art). Funny thing was that it was an accident that is turned out like this .-.

I'll let you decide whether these guys are from the Colony and the little girl grem is dressed as a knight as a sort of badguy costume, or they're from Emberlight and she's dressed that way in the same sort of way that little kids here dress as firefighters.
