the general consensus is that anything that takes your shield away is bad

Dual Bombs?

That would not work but I do admit having dual wielding for the same type swords and guns are good. Maybe they can even pitch in a bonus for the gunslinger set whenever they are dual wielding. Problem is that you miss out on being able to block, so i think dual wielding will greatly benefit gunners who take out enemies from afar.

Dual wielding doesn't benefit

Dual wielding doesn't benefit anyone long-term. Shielding is just far too integral to SK's combat. I cannot believe we're doing this again. OH GOOD THERE'S THREADS ABOUT REMOVING ENERGY AND IMPLEMENTING PETS ON THE FRONT PAGE TOO, TRULY THIS IS CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER.

@Chaoux

Sorry you missed out on all the action my friend.

I'd like to think of myself as being the biggest vindicator of this idea and even I am forced to admit that it is far too essential to have a shield, however, I've moved to the position that a duel-wielding costume would be a very acceptable solution.

Here's an example from the front: http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa460/CaptainCool537/DuelWielding.png

And This is from the back: http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa460/CaptainCool537/DuelWieldingBac...

In this scenario, the shield is mounted on your back and shielding would be done with the weapons you're using. Your shielding strength would be dependent on the shield you've equipped and you would deal no extra dps for having two weapons.

I know some folks are going to say this defeats the purpose, but hey, it sure does look cool. And for me, that's really what this is all about.
