You're sayin' that Pepperbox ISN'T planning for the future? A gun as good as Blitz that can be used anywhere at all? I'd say that that's pretty useful no matter where you use it. I can say this with plenty of T3 experience since I use one on my main and it runs everywhere. Just because you're too narrow-minded to try something other than what you've been told to do doesn't mean it's a bad idea, just means you've no sense of curiosity or desire to learn.
But aye, I also have alchemers, blasters, planning magnus'. If your best defence is taking one thing, twisting the context and ignoring the rest, then you've got nothin' to stand on here mate, 'cuz it still doesnae change the fact that T1's manage to survive absolutely fine without pierce guns; what they need is armour. Give them pierce guns and they'll still be underpowered, half of them will still convert to wolver clones. Give them 2* armour and they'll thrive. Other people know this too.
I don't realy think we need a snarbolax antigua. Three boss token items is enough. Plus the needle shot and callahan cover the general peircing gun types, from high instant damage to rapid damage per second. Then again, it wouldn't hurt, and there is space opening becuase of the AP/Sen update. It would make sense for it to have a medium beast bonus, to keep it in style with the other updated antiguas. Prehaps it should be a shadow lair item though? I mean, making a set with armor, a sheild, and three weapons is a bit excessive. From lockdowns prespective however, the bomb dosen't make sense for a sword weilding striker. I'm too impartial to make a concluded opinion I guess.

Not a bad idea..it certainly seems a bit odd to be able to get a normal T2 boss item from a T1 boss.

The idea is sound though; SL gun is much more appropriate imo, although that'd bring up the obvious next issue that comes hand-in-hand with that...other SL weapons.

Gunners have no SL armor, they should at least get a weapon. I mean really...If you wanna make it balanced then they should've added gunner armor in the first place.

Wasnae discouragin' the idea, just sayin' that they'd likely wanna put in weapons for everythin' at the same time, which would slow that idea down.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I've no idea why they neglected gunner armour from SLs, but if gunners get a SL gun and everyone else is stuck with some pretty unpopular armour (who actually uses Heavenly Iron/Ice Queen for non-fashion armour?) there'll be as much uproar as there was when SL was released sans gunner armour.
Then again, I still think the idea of another piercin' gun is fairly pointless regardless, so idk really, just pointin' that out; would definitely slow the process if they had to make three new weapons instead of just the one.

you know, that the point of limiting the gear you get, is so that you can't just automatically get good gear right? snarby doesn't have a gun for the same reason that JK doesn't have a bomb, it would give you instant access to a full set, pretty much, u can get ok full gear from jk and roarmulus, and good full gear from vanaduke, but snarby having a gun would pretty much give t1 players a chance to get to t2 very fast, snarby has an incomplete set because having one, would really make the antigua and needle shot lines obsolete, giving acsess to piercing guns in t1, not t2 which would make people not work to get 20 jelly gems for an antigua, and not work to either get stuff to craft the needle shot, or buy the antigua or needle shot, so yeah...
Simply make this 'Snarbolax gun' a branch-off from the Antigua line, like has been already suggested.
Following the Snarby theme, how about:
Antigua --> Spike shot/Spike shooter/Spike nailer (4*) --> Dark Briar Sniper (5*) (although it really has nothing to do with snipers)
^Because 'Dark thorn' already has two equipment lines, so following the bomb name for this.
Or the easier Dark/barbarous thorn gun name would work too.
And this wouldn't be able to take place of the needle shot, because they bother work differently. One deals high damage while stationary, the other deals lower damage but can still move.
All of these bashings on the idea on the basis of "it's too fast/easy progress if t1 players can get all their gear from Snarbolax!!"

Being able to grind a boss for token-bought 2* gear will make t1 players progress too fast? 10 tokens pr item. That's a base of 3.33 runs for every item. One t1 run is not unlikely to yield enough crowns to just straight-off BUY a 2* item off the Auction House.
How would you get the idea that grinding a boss would be unreasonable fast progress when it can easily take about 3 days of mist to get one item?
How can you find it an awful, unbalanced idea to let the boss with fewest token items available have one more?

Confusion aside, I would not object at all to it being obtained elsewhere (like post-SL), I just want it to exist.
We seriously need a Snarby gun. I need something to finish my Snarbolax/Piercing set, and I like to have a lot of mobillity while shooting, and not have to fall on my butt every time I need to use a charge attack. And I'm not even a Tier 3 person yet!
Plus, it'd be fun to show Vanadik the TRUE POWA OF SNARBY!!!!
Pros
- It may seem hi-tech, but when you do a charge attack with BTB, it's a HOLOGRAM of Snarby you send out. How isn't a hologram hi-tech?
- Fast Firing Speed
- Easy to take down Devilites
- It'd make Vanaduke much easier for those of us with laggy computers (NETBOOK)
- Charge attack doesn't humiliate me in public
- Charge attack could have wide range
- Cool design
- Adding this would make players truly feel like the Master of Snarbolax.

- Might add more bugs to the growing list

I need decent ranged piercing that doesn't either a) leave me exposed whilst firing or b) have a teeny tiny clip and vaguely irritating charge. Personally have a preference for the crossbow-like design, but the gun looks cool too. Sentenza and AP are getting their piercing damage taken out (which I am 0kay with), and Antigua is only 3*, so it doesn't count.
Also, yes it is about 3 days' worth of mist energy to get a single Snarbolax item. Not to mention the recipes for upgrading them are pretty expensive in AH, and hard to find from Basil, so there isn't THAT much of a worry about t1 nubs getting started fast. If you want to blame someone for that (which is a bit ridiculous personally), blame the people who put up 2* gear in AH for 1k per item.
I like this idea! Antigua has pierce damage and like you said in the first post, they may change Argent Peacemaker and Sentenza to shadow/elemental only weapons. Antigua would be Unique and be the only piercing weapon in its weapon tree, so a barbarous thorn gun would be cool.

Also, I have no problem with the 5* coming from the fountain, this just means I don't have to spend 25k crowns on a 5* recipe, I can get invited to an SL from a friend for free and save myself the trouble ^_^
With the antigua biting the dust, we need a new piercing gun. This is a viable option for spending modeling time on, as gunners deserve a bit more token love, they don't get any guns that are popular among purist gunners from tokens (bio is uncommon, antigua is mostly for LD, and polaris is for hybrids). Callahan COULD be modded to make it more viable, but it remains hard to use vs fiends due to it's non-moving nature, and who shoots down t3 wolvers anyway?

I mean, if you look at them, with the vertical pointing wings on the barrel, they look a fair bit like crossbows already. Compared to completely re-designing a gun, re-texture, re-name, re-introducing the AP would be heaps easier. I mean, look what they did for the Almirian Crusader helm. If you look in the menu that lists all you loot that pops up when you press "back to haven" on an elevator while someone in you party is wearing it, you can still see the shadows of the spikes from when it used to be the dread skelly mask. (not sure if this works on anything other than low graphic detail)

Best idea ever!!! I love how it fuses with the Antigua line and it's perfect for someone like me. But what dmg will it deal? I think it should deal our piercing plus every shot has a low chance of inflicting stun. This deserves a 10000+ hopefully an admin will look at this xD

It's not a bad idea exept that the gun is horrible and should be bought about again. Maybe more spikes less mechanisms(pretend they're on the inside) and a more antiqua stiled design.

All weapons of Snarbolax (and shield!) deal piercing attack and Antigua is piercing. Just perfect!
But problem: Antigua is JK item. What to do? Delete it from JK and add to Snarbolax. Simple.
Bad idea Rustork. Adding Antiguas to Snarbolax would be a calamity. It'd be the only 3* item you could get for free from Snarbolax.
A better idea would be to just have it a 4*/5* item, and don't mess with the boss tokens. Antiguas still come from Jelly Gems, and you just have to find the recipes for the 4*/5* versions.

I think it would be nice to get piercing 5* Antigue, but please, not Snarbolax theme. Snarbolax items has only so-so design (let's be honest - Snarbolax armour, shield, rapier and shadow wings aren't best looking items in this game). I'd really more appreciated something more steampunkish-weird-western style. AP goes well with Deatshot design and Sentenza with Shadowsun, so maybe make piercing Antigua fit Justifier set.
I think a slime themed gun would be neat. We already have slime enemies that shoot piercing barbs, and the same sort of snarby underground spike charge attack people keep suggesting for a snarby gun could easily be substituted with a lichen ground spike attack.
I decided to go into the source files and re-colour the argent peacemaker. I mean, it kinda already looks like a crossbow, doesn't it?

The main point is we want a piercing Antigua Style gun, since the piercing ability had been removed from the other Antigua lines.
Totally, the Roarmulous Twins have jelly armour and pulsar/catalyzers, and Vanaduke has a sword and shield and wears Spiral Knight size armour. And the Jelly King actually bothers with weapons like guns and swords.

How about a Snarby gun with minor stun? Not sleep, that's just plain silly. A spike ramming into my face will probably wake me up, and leave me more then a little cranky...
Stuns just like Snarby, and leaves the enemy slowed so you can run in and strike. It'd be useful at that level too.
If there already is a gun that can do this, discount this idea entirely...

The Magnus line is already takin' the role of a piercing gun that gives stun. (hey, that rhymed!)
Besides, I think just giving it the ability to deal piercing damage like the Antigua does is more than enough to make it a viable weapon.

You might not currently be planning for the future but I for one when I started, did not want to waste my time in autogun > pepperbox lines because they work well on tier 1.
