i couldn't think of my name which is why i'm called what i am
Usernames: How did you get/make yours?
Well, I like Norse mythology (as well as other mythologies) so I named him Balderus after the white god Balder.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldr
I thought we were supposed to actually name our knight, and I like odd names, and Qs in them, so Qbul
(IT'S PRONOUNCED K-BULL NOT CUE-BWUL GET IT RIGHT)
I am the first steve in the jones clan
i got mine when i was a kid, when i didnt know how to speak properly i kept saying i wanted to see a cakeasaurus and now thats my ingame name lmao
April- the month I was born in, plus I've always liked the name April.
Ice- my birthstone is a diamond. They are also known as white ice.
Hence, Aprilice :)
I hate when people take my super unoriginal name and I have to come up with variations of it.
I've been Quiva since before the internet.
What's sad is I'm only exaggerating by a tiny bit. But back when you had to telnet onto MUDs and MUSHs I needed a character name and since I'd already been using Quiva for years, I picked that. I've been Quiva ever since.
Eh, it came to me in a dream once, this one did. So no idea where my subconscious got it but at least it's never taken.
I wanted to actually name my knight like a character but couldn't think of a cool name at the time...
So I took the name of the archer elf from Wakfu the animated series...but I typoed. LOL
I used to be uuniperuna, people called me Uuni so I cut off the extra crap
Uuniperuna = baked potato in finnish
uuni = oven in finnish
I use the name "Neurogasm" in almost all other games (it's a brand of an energy drink, but I liked the thought of brain ... pleasures). It was taken, so I just made the name "Hourless." It's based off of Timeless (which was taken :/), a weapon rank in MapleStory. :3
Manta was born on Three Rings' other MMO, "Puzzle Pirates" in about April of 2004.
I had been playing a few months and experimented with a couple of other names, but decided I wanted something easy to spell, quick to type, and obviously sea-worthy.
Over the years, variation and nicknames have evolved, so I also answer to "Mantacakes", "Mantapants" and the common typo, "Matna".
However, whenever someone in my party says, "Man" ... I'm not sure if they are talking to me...
usually i would go by the name user102 which means nothing but then i couldn't type in the numbers so i just used this name because there was always slime/jelly monsters in most MMO's...i think
Been using this IGN for everything ever since last year.
My usual internet username is thinkmooinc, but since I prefer to punctuate it all lowercase or with interspersed capitals [ThinkMooInc], I went for Arcelia instead. Arcelia is a Spanish name [of course with Latin roots] that means "altar of heaven" or "altar of the sky," depending on how flowery you feel about it. Other names I would've gone with are Aurelia ["golden"], Lysander ["liberator"; male name], or possibly Con-Duolo [Italian? for "with grief"].
And, on the topic of names, my blog url is a blatant ripoff of the guild , who I am not affiliated with at all, but...well, I liked the name.
The day SK was released, I got up early to try it. I started an account (not this one), and eased into the game. Within the first few days, I was annoyed with my original account and how noob I was, so I decided to make a serious account. But I was lacking a name, and didn't want to use my other knights name because I wanted a fresh start and was growing old of my old gaming name. I thought of a book I read, which made me think of the word Hollow, however that was taken. D:< Somehow I settled with Hollows, even though it sounded unnatural at first (I thought, "How could something be hollow more than once?). But I settled into my new name quite well. Now I don't like it when people call me Hollow... it's rather annoying. Despite popular belief, my name DID NOT come from Bleach. I'm not an anime fan AT ALL. STOP ASKING ME THAT!!!
I got my name by my favorite anime show (Fairy Tail) it not like fairys with wings and stuff, so my favorite character is Natsu and he a Dragonslayers so I got the name Dragonslayers :P
Many people refer to me as "Mew" in and outside of this game and I may or may not be "Shiny".
If the game would have allowed CamelCaps for names it would have read as ShinyMew but Shinymew works.
The [Person] tossed [Whateverball] at me jokes got old a long time ago.
At the time I made Shadowki I didn't know there was a shadow key in the game used for shadow lairs so Shadowki was totally random.
Stole it from one of the most lovely and charismatic unexplained enemies of a fantastic PS1 jRPG.
As I did with my Account name.
Maeko came after about 10 minutes of changing one letter at a time to get a combination to be accepted. Maeko was successful and i figured what the hell, its a combination of Mako the shark and that english ae thing.
One hour later i realized the name could be mistaken for a female anime character or anime fan.
Oh well.
Though I would love to change it to Waffletime as that has become my online name everywhere now since i looked up my name on urban dictionary a couple years back.
I didn't know. What game is it?
I'm in the minority here, I guess I'm the only one that gives a dang about old stuff like it's still relevant. My name is actually a re-spelling due to some non-regulars who took the name before me even in June(but then again how does someone else know the same character as I do?) of Ranzo(u) from an old classic brawler Double Dragon. Original aren't I?
My name is self explanatory. In 1997 I first adopted the handle to espouse the OS because no one knew what it was and it was awesome even then.
And yes, I do use the OS almost exclusively and have since 1997.
One day i was on a game site when i saw a advertisement for a new game ''XaosXaos'' i played it and it was awesome they pronounced it Z-A-OH-S Z-A-OH-S i was like that sounds awesome so i decided that that would be my new username for almost everything but a short time after the game got deleted for an unknown reason but i still use the name and no one else uses this name so if you ever see it anywhere you know its most likely me.
Well Tyhlosion came from Pokemon... favorite pokemon in the original silver and gold and crystal series. I just took out a P from Typhlosion. also I have another account that i dont use. his name is Quilavah. added an h.
My username was supposed to be Helios935-934 but I noticed I couldnt have numbers...I tried Helios oh but that was used by an Admin. Yes I dislike him for jacking my name. He could have used Apollo but finders keepers >.> he got here first. So I just used Tyhlosion and stuff.

Sometimes taken in games that I play, but I usually get it first when it matters. People seem to really want to put two Ls in it. My guild in Spiral Knights has created some very amusing nicknames for me. Despite being named for a lady, I am in possession of Y chromosome.
@Iron
I love my Swampert. Plus it seems you're allergic to fire, fighting, and ground.
-End of PokeDiscussion-
@Iron
1. Aggron

What am I allergic too bro.
@Ironskullkid @Tyhlosion Is it me, or do the Black and White generation pokemon look just plain dumb? Also Charizard ftw.
So many people ask me what my name is, if it isn't Bob (actually, many people assume it is Bob and I'm being all "ironical" and stuff), then what is it?
Well, the name Notbob doesn't actually have to do with my name at all. The better question is "what does Notbob mean?", which only a few people have asked.
So, here's the semi-long and hopefully-not-too pretentious story behind this username:
It goes back to somewhere around 1991 (OK, I know some of you weren't then born yet. Shut up, you noisy kids!) when I was in junior high, probably 9th grade. Our science teacher was new and besides this being his first teaching job, I was part of a highly gifted magnet program, a group of the sort of kids that will run roughshod over any teacher that can't challenge them intellectually. After a couple of years, I think he was disillusioned with teaching (he later left to pursue comedy, or something) so he finally just told us to come up with our own projects, just make them vaguely science-related.
A friend of mine and I decided to build a model of a fake planet, but a planet built by corner-cutting bargain planet-builders (think sleazy Magratheans), and we also made a travel brochure to go with it. The arts supply store we went to didn't have anything decently spherical for us to use, so we decided on two hollow hemispheres. We put a marble inside as the core (the explanation being that the people that ordered the planet had specified the type of core they wanted, but nothing about the other layers, so all they got was a loose core and the surface of the planet) and then glued the halves together. Unfortunately, they didn't quite match up and there was a ridge going all the way around the sphere.
For all of the features we made and put on the model--they were all pretty silly, given that we weren't taking this seriously, and we had grown up on Monty Python re-runs on PBS and a hefty dose of Douglas Adams--we described them with little stories in the travel brochure. The story I came up with to explain the ridge running around the globe was that it was the fault of the shoddy construction work that went into the planet, and had come to be known as the Circumglobal Ridge. I included a note that no-one had ever been able to hike to the end of it, but one old man had being trying since he was very young. The natives of the planet referred to him as "Bob", which, in their language, meant "really stupid".
My group of friends began describing anything particularly stupid and shortsighted as "bob", and I expanded it to encompass anything born from a narrow-minded perspective and to represent a person incapable of or unwilling to look around them and face the world in a rational and open-minded way.
This was fresh on my mind when I started using BBSs around the same time (note for the kids--back before the internet was pervasive, our electronic communications were limited to local-area privately-hosted Bulletin Board Systems), and so I chose the username "Notbob" as both a declaration (that nobody would get) that I wasn't "bob" in terms of that expanded definition above, and as a reminder to myself to not become so.
As the internet began to invade our lives I kept Notbob as my username, and I try to use it whenever I can--I've had it for 20 years now after all.
Occasionally it's taken if I come to a game/online service late, so I made an alternate username from a random assortment of letters (I don't use it here, though).

TL;DR: It's a silly private joke that ended up with a meaning. Don't be lazy, read the post.
I DID like the concept of not having Old Pokemon Showing up on B&W, make it feel like RBY, & I also did like some of the Pokemon they Offered, but to me, the Story didn't Catch my Attention Much & the Triple/Rotation Battles were severely Over-Hyped. Other than that, I think it is a Great Game.
By the way, I grew up with RBY when I was 2, GSC when I was 4, & RSE when I was like 7. Ruby was my Favorite out of all of them, but Gold Still had its place in my Heart, as well as Red.
Marquito is my nickname that I got during P.E. several years ago from a friend of mine who is part Spanish.
Mines is basically a greeting.
xo=hugs and kisses, so "Hello -hugs and kisses-"
Jace is a nickname of mine I've had for years. I think originally a short form of JC, my initials. It is what i went with in the service too. Jarak is from the Jarak twins from Dream Pod 9's Heavy Gear universe, if anyone even knows of it at all.
In game everyone calls me JJ though :-P
Mine is a long heartbroken story....
Long story short... I had a fiance who I was deeply in love with, and one of her most adorable pet names for me was Darke, (pronounced dark-ee), Obviously I took that nickname and engraved it into my life... Sadly, she passed away christmas eve of 2009, and ever since I've kept her memory alive by keeping that nickname for everything. Sadly Darke was taken, so i added another "a" for some odd reason...
I used to be XMatrix2X in Minecraft, but in Spiral Knights, it appeared as
Xmatrix2x
the lowercase M and X looked weird to me.
so I used "Aero", a spell from Final Fantasy 4 Heroes Of Light and Matrix from my previous name.
My favorite drink is a Strawberry Daiquiri.
It was too long, so I dropped the 'Strawberry.'
Hence, Daiquiri. C:
@Ranzoh
I'm in the minority here, I guess I'm the only one that gives a dang about old stuff like it's still relevant.
Speaking of old stuff, my second character is named Draconewt after aquatic form of protagonist from epic game called Draconus ;-) probably best game of my childhood.
Double Dragon 3 was the first game I had for my NES, still works. Looks odd on 32" screen though
That is interesting insight into your username but helps me very little on my quest to determine your actual name.
One day.............one day.
Well when I created my name all the good knights were takens so I was stuck with a muppet from a movie my sisters made me watch as a child.
BTW has anyone ever seen Ambrosius?
@Eury
Actually you did very well :D
(and if, in a distant future, OOO has a plan to expand SK to brazilian lands I'll be eager to help o/)
