...Because I like guns. Lots of volunteers on art here, so I'm just going to list them as they come. Yay~

My idea is essentially a mixture between a Magnus and an Antigua. A four-shooter Heavy-Revolver weapon. The attack speed would be fairly slow, but not as slow as a Callahan, and it would only need to reload every four shots. There would be about a half-second between each shot. Upon firing, your movement speed would be reduced as you shoot, but you would not be immobilized (It's not that heavy of a pistol). The range of this weapon would be close to, but not quite, equivalent to the Antigua lines. 2* would have a much shorter range than an Antigua, 3* would have only slightly shorter range than an Antigua, 4* would have only slightly shorter range than a Blackhawk/Silversix, and a 5* would have only slightly shorter range than an AP/Sentenza.

The concept of this weapon is a powerful revolver which fires off bullets at intense speeds, with the sheer caliber of the shot doing much of the damage. This intense speed is accompanied by a "blue aura" (3*+) which is there to visualize the speed of the bullet. The "blue aura" that the bullets have represents the speed and elemental abilities of the bullets themselves. The bullets are more blunt than average bullets, so the gun does not end up doing piercing damage, but retains its normal damage even when it's split with Elemental.

Here goes nothing...

2*:

Name: Revolver

Type: Normal Damage

Description: Four-shot magazine, much slower than Antigua but faster than a Callahan...basically a "Heavy pistol".

Charge Attack: Fires off a single, powerful shot forward.

Level 5+: CTR: Low.
Level 10: CTR: Medium.

3*:

Name: Magnum

Type: Normal/Elemental Split Damage

Description: Elemental Damage added, bullets now have a blue aura around them.

Charge Attack: Imagine your character facing North. Once the Charge attack is used, he would spin some 15 degrees to the left, and fire 2 bullets, ending at about 15 degrees to the right (One bullet 15 degrees left, one to the right).

Once charged, the actual attack would have approximately a 0.75-second execution (Faster than normal bullets; deals slightly more damage).

Level 5+: CTR: Low.
Level 10: CTR: Medium.

4*:

Name: Saint's Flintlock

Type: Normal/Elemental Split Damage

Effect: Moderate Chance of Moderate STUN (Charge Attack Only)

Description: More damage, Stun added to Charge Attack.

Charge Attack: Similar to 3*, but starts further to the left and ends further to the right (30 degrees?), firing a total of 4 bullets. Once charged, the actual attack would have approximately a 3-second execution (Executes faster than 3*, but fires more bullets).

Level 5+: CTR: Low.
Level 10: CTR: Medium.

5*:

Name: Judgement

Type: Normal/Elemental Damage.

Effect: Good Chance of Moderate STUN (Charge Attack only)

Description: Upon hitting an enemy, a powerful shockwave passes through them and slightly damages all enemies behind the enemy (Does NOT cause Knockback, shockwave damage is equivalent to roughly 1/3 of original hit damage).
The shockwave damage effects all targets within a 30 degree expanding cone area behind the target that was shot (That is, a cone that starts at 1 degree when you're directly behind the target, and eventually grows to 30 degrees after X distance; after hitting that 30 degree range behind it, the shockwave would fade. The Shockwave would hit *all* monsters within that range, it would not stop if the shockwave hit one).

Charge Attack: Fires off all 4 bullets at one time (Essentially at one time, your character spins very rapidly in a 90 degree swing (Starting at 30 degrees left and ending at -30 degrees right) and fires off 4 bullets), in the same area of effect of 4*'s charge attack. Bullets are high-impact bullets that can cause a more powerful stun than 4*'s, as well as doing 2/3 shockwave damage to all targets hit (Charge does 2/3s shockwave damage, normal shots only do 1/3).

Level 5+: CTR: Low.
Level 10: CTR: Medium.

Note 1: The downside to the Charge Attacks is that they're slightly shorter range than the bullets themselves, not to mention less accurate. The Charge ranges are maybe 2/3 that of the shots themselves. At the end of their range, they just explode as if they hit a wall, similar to any other gun's.

Note 2: If this is ever made, please be sure to record a very nice "BLAM" sound. That's like...why I use a gun.

Note 3: (Probably the most important note) I may remove the 2* Revolver due to the fact that this gun's "Rivals", Antigua and Callahan, both start at 3*. We wouldn't want any UV farming advantages...

So I was initially thinking of doing a Shadow damage line...but instead I'll go with a Piercing line. Reasons being, there are no mobile piercing guns in the game at present...and Sentenza covers Shadow.

3*:

Name: Maverick

Type: Normal/Piercing Split Damage

Description: 4-shot magazine, bullets pierce through enemies up to a certain distance. The bullets that pierce through enemies lasts just as long as the Shockwaves from the Judgement-line; however, the range is more limited since it's a single bullet instead of a shockwave.

Charge Attack: The Maverick would fire a single bullet, which both pierces enemies and has a Shockwave effect. The damage is roughly 2x the damage of normal bullets (Meaning the pierce and shockwave damages would deal 2/3 damage of the initial shot instead of 1/3)

Level 5+: CTR: Low.
Level 10: CTR: Medium.

4*:

Name: Dragoon

Type: Piercing Damage

Description: 4-shot magazine, bullets work the same as 3*.

Charge Attack: The Reprisal fires 4 bullets in very quick succession, each piercing all enemies (no shockwave), with a base damage of 1.5X per shot. Bullets will move very fast and cause a very small explosion when they die out (Nothing like a bomb, just a small explosion barely larger than the bullet, that would do one final hit to any enemies it carried with it).

Level 5+: CTR: Low.
Level 10: CTR: Medium.

5*:

Name: Transcendence

Type: Piercing Damage

Description: 4-shot magazine, bullets work just as the others.

Charge Attack: The Retribution fires all 4 bullets at once, in a long-range shotgun fashion. Bullets will surround the front of the user and go outward (Similar to Divine Avenger, but much less delayed and smaller). Each bullet has a base damage of 1.5X, and pierces all enemies along with a shockwave that deals knockback.

Bullets have a very long range, and will go from one side of your screen to the other; the bullets are unstoppable unless they hit a Shielded enemy (Trojan, or in PvP another player who is shielding), a wall, or a switch. Shockwave only activates upon hitting an enemy, causing some knockback. There is no explosion when the bullets dissipate.

Level 5+: CTR: Low.
Level 10: CTR: Medium.

really cool idea :D but in my mind i think these should have a 4 shot magazine ... idk why, just seems more fun and less like an antigua alternate line~

BUT AWESOME IDEA!!! this should be implemented, as well as a shadow DPS blast bomb ;P

Oh man

Will someone make this happen? As in now?

Two questions about it, though.
1) While shooting regular shots, would you be able to kite as if using Antigua-line guns or would you be pushed back like Magnus-line guns?
2) Any ideas on art for this? I feel like having concept art will give any post a little more clout. I would be perhaps willing to generate some form of art, but I need a vision first.

Indeed you have been suggestion-happy today, but as long as the ideas are good, keep 'em coming.

EDIT: Well after mulling over the details in the shower (no joke), I suppose I have more to say.
First off, I think a full second between shots might be a bit too long. In-game, a full second will feel a lot longer and I'm actually wondering whether it would be faster to just reload after each shot.
Second, I feel like the diminishing cone is a little strange. In real life, a shockwave wouldn't diminish, it would spread. Real life aside, though, I think the shockwave would have little to no use if it diminished. The only sure applications for a diminishing cone that I can think of at the moment would be if someone used a vortex-style bomb to bunch up enemies or if you just kited long enough for them to clump into a tight mass. I guess the shockwave probably isn't too important either way since it does less damage, but those are my thoughts.
Lastly, I kind of agree with Diamondshreddie on clip size. I get that revolvers traditionally hold 6 bullets, but 6 does make this seem like an Antigua offshoot.

Yeah shadow items are a bit of a rarity. Also, the point in making it a six-shot magazine is to make it a traditional revolver.

1) Ah, sorry, I suppose I didn't specify that. You would not be immobilized, but you would be slowed down just like when firing off an Antigua.

2) I'll draw up something (Not a good artist) that hopefully will put an idea into people's heads about what I'm thinking of...not sure when I can get around to it, but I'll try to.

1: I suppose that's true...a Callahan reloads after every shot and it doesn't take too much longer than a full second to fire again. Maybe we can cut that time down a little bit.

2: Never thought about it that way, lol. I only used a diminishing cone so that it would be obvious where the shockwave damage actually stopped. Using a cone that increases in size was just counter-intuitive when I was thinking about it.

3: Baww..poor Revolver...I'll edit the OP then.

I was thinking if i should get a Sentenza or Callahan, but with this i don't need to choose!
I like it, to me it sounds more like a shotgun than a revolver, but i like shotguns better anyway :3

Shotguns fire off composite shells filled with like 100 bullets.

This fires off single-shot shells, that just happen to fire off at ridiculous speeds.

Which reminds me though, I never did specify a range for this gun. I'll have to do that.

Are the ranges of Antigua, Silversix/Blackhawk, and Argent Peacemaker/Sentenza actually different? I always figured they all went 10 squares.

Well...

I only have Black pens and a scanner, so i cant do color, but I will be doing a sketch, so if you wanted to color it in, I'd love it. Also, i 'may not be as good as you or something, so please, submit your own... >:D

Also... allow an off shoot, if you will...

Shattergun 4*
Damage: Normal

Effect: fair chance of moderate stun on normal shots and charge, charge can minorly stun you.

Description: The rounds of this massive gun are so huge and fire with such force, that in impact, they simply explode.

Normal shots: the same range as the Saint's Flintlock, but the rounds are bigger and explode on contact. The explosion is the size of a 1* or 0* bomb, does about 1 squares worth of knockback, and does not go past (Or pierce through) foes; meaning that the monsters behind wont be damaged. Due to lots of stun and explosions, the reload is 1.5x as long as the Flintlock.

Charge: The execution of the charge does take a bit of time before the shots are fired, but the- well, you'll see... When released, the knight fires three rounds starting at the left, ending on the right. They spin so wickedly fast that they don't move forward at all so the knight does the obvious thing: he fire the last round at the back of the bullets (Minor step back) which then explodes, deals damage, possibly stuns you, and launches the massive rounds. They have 2* radius on contact, and deal a large amount of knockback, and stuns them.

AAAhahahahahahaahhhhhH!!!!!

The Elephantine (Yes "the" must be in the actual weapon.)
Damage: Normal

Effect: fair chance of moderate stun on normal shots, Strong stun (GASP!) on charge, charge can moderately stun you.

Description: There once were creatures far more frightening then Tortodrones, and this gun killed them. (Note: must have two tusks coming out from the front of the gun.)

Normal shots: the same range as the Judgement, but the rounds are Far Larger and explode on contact. The explosion is the size of a 1* or 0* bomb, does about 1.5 squares worth of knockback, and does not go past (Or pierce through) foes. Due to lots of stun and explosions, the reload is 2x as long as the Judgement.

Charge: When released, the knight fires five rounds starting at the left, ending on the right. Only difference for the launch is that you can get moderately stunned. They have 2.5* (Yes, .5 !!! :P) radius on contact, and deal a large amount of knockback, and strongly stuns them. (GASP! She said it AGAIN!)

I found an interesting charge and I thought we needed a Truely Massive gun.

Hm...

While I like the idea of a really powerful gun (so powerful in fact that it may cripple the user), it sounds like the regular shots for the Shattergun line are almost like pulsar-style shots... Is that what you intended?

As for the charge attacks, did you have something like DA in mind? Three shots that kind of sit there for a bit then get launched away?

Again, for concept art I guess I'd be okay with doing a more finalized coloring job, but I'd still like to see a bit of concept first.

About the description of shotguns...

I recently found out from an ep of Mythbusters that there is a Shotgun shell that does NOT function like that. They called it a Deer slug. And as far as they'd let me see it, it's like firing off any other gun, except higher powered and with a bigger projectile.

Just sayin', although I have nothing to add to this thread. Sorry guys :/

The Judgement line sounds

The Judgement line sounds awesome. Gunners really need some sort of gun that can do good crowd DPS.

-1 to The Elephantine line charge attacks would take forever to set up. In PvE it would leave you defenseless for too long, while in PvP, enemies have plenty of time to dodge.

Mind if I add one more new gun idea to this?

Name: Plague

Type: Normal/Shadow Damage

Description: A variant of Biohazard, so that the catalyzer line can be used in PvP. Basically, it turns your enemies into time bombs. In PvP, it's made to prevent strikers from rushing back to base and healing all the time. In PvE, it sacrifices Damage for area of effect.

Regular attack: 3 quick shots. Small and slow bullets. The bullets have a slight homing ability, like a T2 Rocket puppy/howlitzer. The bullets do not do damage and stick onto enemies like catalyzer charges. High chance of causing strong poison.

Notes:
The bullets stuck to an enemy will explode
if it is hit by a charged shot
if it stays on the enemy for 20 sec
if the enemy dies
The bullets will not home in on cloaked enemies (viruslisks, ninja gremlins, recons)

Charge Attack: A large, high-damaging bullet (no homing ability), which causes any charges attached to the enemy hit to explode. High chance of causing strong poison.

Damage:
3 explosion from regular Plague shots will cause slightly less damage than 1 charged shot from Biohazard.
The charge from Plague does as slightly less damage than 1 charged shot from Biohazard

Another idea would be for this weapon to have elemental damage with high chance of causing medium sleep (but that might be overpowered).

Actually I had a similar idea

Actually I had a similar idea awhile back, essentially its an upgrade path for the Antigua itself, going down the path of pure piercing but maintaining the mobility we love from the others.

Heres the concept art I did for them awhile back. Went for a more serious heavy revolver look that still follows the Antigua line but avoids the corny giant Final Fantasy styled wing nonsense.

The stun chance mentioned on the image is referring to the charge shot that fires the size shots rapidly followed by a larger bullet with a stun chance.

As for the passive knockback on the Stampida (yes its name and design is a partial homage to something =P) the knockback amount would be the same as the Valiances and be applied to every second shot meaning 3 cases of knockback in total becoming the same as Valiances.

But yeah either way were seriously needing a revolver weapon that deals a good amount of piercing and lets us actually move and be mobile. And Severage I am liking your idea a lot to, so either of the two would be cool by me.

I do love my Callahan to death, but I'm only using it cause there simpily isn't a better alternative gun wise, in a super accurate, packs a punch per super fast bullet range...

My goodness, a lot happens when you're sleeping. It gets me right here that so many people want to contribute to my idea.

I finished all my sketches, I just have to upload them now...and find a way to do it. lol, I'll have to borrow my brother's camera or something, it's all on paper not on my PC.

First thing's first,

@Schattentag: To be honest I'm going to tell you that I don't know, but I'm fairly sure that Antiguas don't shoot as far as their 5* versions. When the range actually improves in the alchemy line, I have no idea.

@Tsu: Hiya Tsu~ I highly doubt you're not as good as me.

As far as the Shattergun...the charge sounds a lot like the Divine Avenger. It's a heavier gun than my idea is (By a pretty long shot), but still a neat idea. Sounds pretty cool.

Both your ideas sound like Grenade Launchers more than guns. xD I honestly don't have much to add though.

@Hmmnm: The Plague sounds pretty cool (Might want to re-think the name though, there's already a Plague Needle), but I don't like homing abilities honestly.

Okie dokie

I got my sketches uploaded...

A few notes in case you can't read the print:

Top-left is the Revolver, and as you go down you get to the Magnum and the Saint's Flintlock.

On the top-right is Judgement; and finally, on the bottom right is an example of a bullet. The bullets, when fired, would have blue-tinted circles coming from the front, and as the bullet flies, travel to the back, at which time new circles would appear in the front. This is just an animation to show how fast the bullet is going; as if it's cutting the air.

In the middle-right is an under-view of Judgement. This part isn't necessary but I wanted to put it up there just to see what people thought. The under-view shows wings (Yeah, those things are wings) on either side of the gun, but not connected to the gun itself. They're more or less floating on either side of it.

Finally, here's the image (Not_a_good_artist).

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I drew the barrels short because of page space. The barrels are supposed to be a good bit longer than what they are drawn as.

I think the style is pretty appropriate for a Revolver/Gunslinger...except that the barrels need to be longer (They look chibified and stubby atm).

In case it wasn't clear though:

The non-darkened part of the handles (3*+) and the designs on the Barrels are engravings (Forgot to darken the handle around the 5*); the color scheme was intended to be Silver and Black for the gun, with Golden being the engravings.

and no , thats code for: i have been hit by a flying chair, and have been sucked on by strange cyclops bat things so much, fell on my face enough so that eventually my helmet gave way, i smashed a huge hole right on the side of the face of my bombhead mask, and also the fuse fell off..
