i'm getting an AUTH FAIL error on my username today. I'm not sure if it has to do with me doing this from work as opposed to home. Not that it matters, I just wanted to peruse.

@DeckardCain Yeah i got into a long discussion about it with him too. He wants to get people speculating on the market price by creating buying everything at vendor cost. IMO though it just makes it harder for me to look at the people that are posting legitimate buy bids since if i look at all materials its just a MOUNTAIN of pinto buys that i have to sift through to find the real buyers.
It's not about being market police... it's just banning one guy who's CLEARLY trolling. His fake bids take up pages worth of scrolling.
If you can't tell a guy that's bidding for 1000 Drake Scales @ 10 cr a piece then trying to sell 4 @ 900 cr a piece is trolling, you're incredibly gullible. His bids are taking up lots of space.

i know the auction house will make this site moot in the future, but in the meantime I think its a great resource and I would definitely be willing to help add some more features. displaying stars for items / recipes, adding images, linking names to the wiki articles, etc etc.

Deckard, note that the highest bids in a category are in bold. Thus as other bids emerge, it will (with a little practice) become very easy to filter Pinto's bids out from "real" offers. As annoying as a mess of lowball offers is now, the site certainly has enough search options that provide ways to ignore him/her.

I'm not testing anything, I want people to understand that if they value a material for more than me and have the capital, they should outbid me. That's how markets work and this is how we will discover the true value of materials.
Do you value the materials less or do you not have a few crowns to knock together? If you value them less, you should be selling to me, if you value them more and have the capital you should be outbidding me for a profit.

Pinto, vendors already fulfill that role in-game, so there's no point in you putting up an offer for the same amount. You should at the very least mark up a bit from the vendor to make it worth selling stuff to you instead of just vendoring everything.
Anyways, I'm also having trouble with the "AUTH FAIL" bug. I was able to get in fine earlier and posted some bids (as Sezan) but now I can't get back in to modify them.

Expiry's a little annoying, why? You'll just make everyone file the same offers every three days.
except that if they're selling materials they'd probably just have more of the same in 3 days anyway.
pinto we are all undercutting each other anyway it keeps the system clean if there is an expiration, sorry you have to offer vendor price on all the items every 3 days. The sellers with inventory will continue to post and the market would stay fresh. do you really want to see a market of 1 month old buy orders noone bothered to remove or sell spots that have long since past. I find it interesting that you who are so interested in this as a market would have the notion in your head that it is static. Since its inception cwm has been very fluid in its pricing and we have lowered the bar for many a mat now that we have a go to location to compare notes with competition.

I've added a complication to the auth scheme. If you successfully log in, you can pick a PIN which you can use in the event that your IP changes.
Nothing but positive things to say about this website. I've done over 20 transactions from posting here and its nice not having to go into that warzone called /2 when you're only passively looking for certain items.

Congratulations for taking an unrelated issue to this thread for no purpose but to try to dirty my name. For what it's worth, the way you treated the matter and especially that post make me feel a lot better about not being part of the guild any more although most of the regular members were nice players who were fun to be around.
I was answering a question. I was not rude in the way I answered it. Your actions towards getting removed and trying to say it was because of free port selling (Which I thought was awesome) was not what led to you getting removed. You reacted in a childish manner, just like you are now.

EDIT: I would also like to add I was extremely polite in the matter. We asked you to come to the guild hall at your earliest convenience, which took you longer than an hour and a half. So getting impatient while you were doing your free port stuff, I sent you in-game mail explaining why you were being let go, with multiple apologies as it was not reached lightly. We wanted you to say your good byes to the guild members and either leave yourself or be removed. We were NOT trying to make the guild masters (Grave-Jester and Myself) look good by any means. We were going to explain to the guild if you had not why you were removed. You used that chance to try and tell the guild members we were trying to make you leave quietly and keep the matter silent to make it look like you just wanted to leave. You went with your assumptions and acted out with anger instead of thought, which led to me forcefully removing you instead of you being the decent person I knew you to be. You have no right to claim I dirtied your name when you did it by yourself.
Back to the topic on hand I would like to note I have been able to get on the website and use it. I believe it was Google Chrome that was not allowing me to do anything, thanks to anyone who offered suggestions.
This is completely off topic but if you're going to attack me here I have no choice but to defend myself. The supposed multiple complaints you received could in reality have originated from a maximum of two people and would have to be severely exaggerated or multiplied by all their friends and alts to justify removing me from the guild. You either decided to trust those with an obvious agenda over your own guild member or you decided that their interest in protecting an extremely lucrative risk free business coincided with yours or you were so afraid of any supposed harm to the guild's image (which would be unlikely even if I were actually a scoundrel, there is no /who command in this game) that you automatically put that ahead of the interests of your members.
Gentle words do not make your actions honourable and the suggestion that I "leave of my own volition" is insulting and strongly suggests you wanted to cover up the truth of the matter. I require honesty and honour in all matters from those I deal with and you have not shown these qualities in great measure. At best, you are a politician.
On topic, I won't be renewing the buy offers, they didn't succeed in accomplishing what I hoped they would and I guess I'll wait for the real in game market to try that again. For those confused, the materials market is a low volume market so I was attempting to encourage speculation on all materials in order to stabilise prices. I never expected anyone to respond to the offers (and indeed they didn't, which I'm quite glad of) and that was never my goal. Besides, it's a free market. If you have a problem with any serious offer you need to look up that concept.

Pinto, I'd like you to note that the words Geno has quoted are not even his words. They are my words. While I can see how one could construe such meaning out of them, I find it ridiculous that you actually did. The words imply that you were leaving one way or another, one was just a nice way for you to address the guild as a whole for your departure. If we had wanted to cover it up, we would have simply kicked you and said nothing more of the matter.
You left out the real reason you were kicked as a possibility, that you were causing negative waves. Your apparent hostility towards Geno only affirms that the action we took was the proper response. What would have stopped you from becoming this hostile towards a guild member, or a trusted friend of the guild? Not much, I fear. You obviously don't hold much attachment to the guild, as you lashed out at it instead of fighting to stay a part of it. And on another note, protecting the image of the guild is inextricably linked with the welfare of the guild members. A negative view of the guild will inevitably result in the ostracization of the guild members in some form. Which is not fun. Even though that was not our main concern, it shouldn't be taken so lightly. The welfare of our guild members is always the focus of our interests. Maybe you're upset because you were a guild member, and we didn't protect your interests. In that respect, I feel obliged to mention that the good of the many outweighs the few. And you clearly made a statement that was tantamount to you valuing your opinions over that of the guild.
If your quarrel is with whether our words were honest or not, then let me tell you right now that they are as unquestionably honest as the brightness of the sun. Had we a complaint with something, we would have outright said it. Which we did, in our message. I held you in high regards, Pinto. I was truly sorry about the decision we came to, and this situation, as well as your actions, continue to make me nothing but sad. All we ever wished for our guild was a fun atmosphere, some place we can all relax. As the guild leaders, we can not abide threats to that fun. I'm sorry Pinto, but you're only proving that we made the right decision. How I wish that was not the case...

Re. "attacking me": You came to this thread specifically to make such a post. I wasn't going to post anything about the guild, you were the one who decided to post about me. I had decided to put the matter behind me and move on but you apparently don't want to allow this.
Wording (not yours, yes) suggesting that you're being ever so gracious by allowing me the opportunity to say goodbye and pretend that leaving was my decision does not make it so. An opportunity to address the guild should be an obvious right, not a privilege and it is not something you can expect me to be grateful for.

This whole thing seems blown way out of proportion. Not just the guild issue but also the previous whining about Pinto's low bids. It's unfortunate that this thread turned out to be my first read on these forums. I hope the people who frequent the other sections do not share the lit-firecracker-doused-in-lighter-fluid level of tolerance and patience found here.
As for the guild matter, it all seems like an unnecessary series of events to me. While I certainly understand and support the desire to keep a guild as fun and drama-free as possible, I have yet to find anything amongst the limited amount of information I have on the subject that would warrant a guild kick. If placed in the same situation as Pinto, I likely would have responded with shock and anger as well. All of that said, the decisions have been made, and the best course of action for both parties at this point is to attempt to drop it and move on. It's just sad that things have spiraled (no pun intended) to the point that it likely can't be repaired.
I go away for a week, and look what happens. Anyway, I'm back from my business trip, so if you've been holding off on emailing or otherwise pestering me, feel free to let loose. I don't anticipate adding any new features in the near future, since I assume we're going to get an in-game mechanism for this sort of thing in the near future, right?
