Well... that is one way of looking at it.
On the other side, you can look at it as that the game's community is working with itself. Everyone has made a silent pact with each other to choose the shiver+blitz system, and to win. They've overcome the obstacle as a whole, as opposed to being forced into developing "real skill" to overcome it as an individual. And I think that's beautiful.

I do have to agree slightly at what you say Kitty/ Hector w/e, but I'm not sure if you are aware of about 3 thread all about "Look at me doing FSC and UFSC swords only."
I think its more a lack of efficient development as well. I'm not saying we ned more content each week, but for the next few patches, the devs should really start consider all possiblilities that would occur in game if they want something with no exploits, glitches etc.
I honestly have quit the game for awhile because of the sheer repetitiveness it gets at 5* nowadays. I mean, sure, Blitz, Shiver at Vana is probably the fastest way, but just getting there has lost all luster, and the Shadow Lairs themselves have progressively gotten easier, as seen on the forums and if you just go and do one 10 times.
I was planning on Soloing UGWW myself, but that was just before I basically donated 4000 CE to some friends and left. There's no entertainment anymore, and until there is, I'm not coming back.
The only concern I have with this thread is that you're using the wrong argument for the Explanation and vice versa. Are you talking about morals, or about why everyone shouldn't abuse exploits in the game?
Because to be honest, if OOO doesn't step up to the plate and clean out their game of the 2 tons worth of bugs, exploits, and glitches, then there's nothin to do but strive to be the richest person in the game. And what other easy way than to give OOO all your money for accessories?

You know, despite how bad the OPs grammar and usage is, and how high his rage level is, he has a very good point. Way back in the day we had no idea how to do stuff. We had to learn new strategies based off of heresay and invent our own stuff. PLUS enemies were alot harder on average. We will always be better players for that. Back in the day it was AP (which may or may not have worked well depending on lag, debris that hurt/stunned you), then we gradually shifted to blitz and very slowly added in shiver, all based on trial/error and tons of running WITHOUT exploits and glitches. Now the best of us know that to get better we need to keep inventing nour own strategies rather than relying on the weapons of each member of a group. And blitz/shiver is by no means even close to the best way to do vana.

I thought blitz came after shiver. All I remember was making Blitz when everyone was like "LOL piercing guns suck", and seeing the potential of the charge attack.
..Then the guns patch happened and made the charge even more awesome and it became mainstream.

Yes I was trolling but it was the closest way of me explaining how I feel about the way players play the game & then how they complain it's too easy & begin to gloat about how Vanaduke is an easy boss & how the game itself is easy. I'm always doing random 4 man groups so I'm playing the game at it's hardest. I'm just disappointed that I lost my duo partner due to them getting to 5* quicker than me & loosing taste in the game so easily. They played the game how the grinders play it with skimming levels & using little glitch-type tricks.
I don't mind whatever weapons you guys use but please do not assume that Lord Vanaduke can only be defeated through using shivermist buster. I got angry at my friend for thinking that way & they refused to rarely practice Lord Vanaduke with me even tho they had an elevator pass. It's hard to not be ticked off from a player you see grow from a newbie to a 5*player to run their FSC the 2nd time like they saw the grinders do it & to then complain it's too easy & that the game needs new content. And always thinking of shadow lairs without even fighting Lord Vanaduke again after just 3 successful victories.

People have been abusing glitches in FSC since last year lol. The reason is simple: FSC is profitable. Almirian seals are profitable (30 seals --> 30k after selling armor to the NPC). People did things to make the run either quicker or easier. I still remember how people used Divine Avenger to kill the wheel machines and get rid of walls ahead of time, used totem tricks to trap Trojans, pushed slag walkers to the top of the screen so Vanaduke wouldn't spawn guards, trapped Vanaduke behind the water...
All those things were because people wanted profit.The 5* veterans of tomorrow will learn to play like this & like this alone then become soloist players. Cheating the game & then complaining about how it's too easy & they want more game content.
They are NOT exploits. They ARE tactics.
They are used in guides.

Lol Kitty apparently you have not run into me :P. I'm the LEAST stereotypical player on the server. I go whatever I feel like going :D. I currently do not have shiver, I have a VENOM VEILER, the shield I prefer is a OMEGA SHELL- reason being my OS has served me well. I use a Divine Avenger, and I use FULL mad bomber - I have high negative resistance, I enjoy using Nitronome, and whichever bombs I'm trying to work on, ( I do want a shiver, not for Vanaduke but for... well shivering crap.) - side note my 2nd mist type bomb is going to be a voltaic tempest. Oh I also have a Neutralizer, I prefer CIV over Levi and I forgot to mention I have a Big Angry Bomb XD. I do have a skolver cap... however I chose this when Vog was in fashion and I do NOT have the armor. I'm unique :P. Oh and even if a party does not have shivermist, I'm still willing to go attack vana even though I do not have any equipment related to easily killing him.

Blitz&Shiv is more of a crutch, a set of training wheels that allows newbies to learn the ropes of the Vana fight. Unfortunately like in real life there are some who refuse to take the bike without the training wheels because blaurghf.
Now I feel sorta hipster for trying to solo vana with a Faust(not gran Faust FYI) and a thwack hammer. Didn't work lol but I tried.
And I do occasionally just go no weps in LD and death mark everyone. Way to pass the time and burn crs
See, if you're in PUGs, then shiver is a godsend.
But when you're doing full FSC runs with a highly experienced and skilled team, in 25-30 minutes, then shiver is a no-no.
A vortex, is a yes-yes.
For vanaduke, just use swords. I think Nalrayi and Exileddread showed us that swords are perfectly fine, if not better, for vana.
After all, the fastest vana solo belongs to Nalrayi, and it is a sword-only.
And the fastest Vana ever belongs to Exileddread's team, (1:36) which also did it swords only.
Though sadly the video was deleted along with his Youtube account, sadly. A lot of people here have seen the video, though.

I've been using freeze bombs since I was a 2 star knight. I've stopped taking them outside of shadow levels, however.
You can be stupid with any weapon. It's just that most people are stupid with popular weapons.
I want the monster nerfs reverted. Monsters should either attack faster or track you again (I'd prefer tracking again). I did enjoy the feel of facing overwhelming odds, like getting halfway thru RJP with two 2* knights on the first time, or clearing t3 with no ce revives in 4* gear in the first time. I play these levels underequipped on my smurf but it doesn't have the same feel.
If shadow lairs didn't cost keys, I'd play the hell out of them, profits be damned. I do plan on getting the expansion sometime.

When you said "Americans have too much freedom" you immediately invalidated any opinions you might have. Call me crazy, but I rather like the freedom to do whatever I feel like doing, whenever I feel like doing it. As long as it doesn't affect anybody else, anyways. Go live somewhere where you have no freedom at all, and the ruling party doesn't agree with you. Then, when you understand why it's so important, you can come talk about Americans and our freedom. Besides, how can you even have an opinion without freedom? You can't.
Main problem I have with shiver is that it actually lowers people's skill level. Sure it is great while you are getting used to a blitz so you can learn the rhythm and charge times, but once you have this down, you need to learn to do it without shiver.
People rely waaaaay too much on shiver, and then if they ever come to do darkfire vanaduke, where he is immune to shiver.... lol you all get screwed over and/or have to use AP. AP makes the fight slower, leaving more time for you to get hit. Since you have been shivering, you are unable to dodge as efficiently due to lack of experience, so you get hit more.
So you have a longer fight, with you getting hit more often... not looking good is it.
I was looking and magnus' vids and it was revealed that DA was the get go wep like shiv ATM. then near the end of preview, DA was less effective.
Obviously, we will adapt to the problems. That's nature.

Get a poison/fire inflicting wep(bomb or gun)?

Sorry to say this Kitty, but please stop. You're making a stereotype of players in Spiral Knights when it's really not that true. About teamwork, that's the reason we have guilds. I see more people going with guildies to do stuff, rather than solo or with randoms. If people play with randoms, odds are that you can work together. However, if people want/need to do something faster, nothing wrong with it. It's their loss (whether they skip a sprite in Vana or just dodge monsters to get past a Decon Zone). Don't call them out on it in the forums for that. So, by using this stereotype to say we don't deserve an update, then that's just plain wrong. Often stereotypes are only thought of, based on a minority of "said people", which can be seen in history. Is the game going slow? Yes. They have a right to say that they want more stuff because human nature makes it so we want more. Humans want to know more, they're a smarter part of the Kingdom Animalia. Back to the topic, people don't cheat the game. This game can't be cheated, but rather, tricks and tips can be used. However, that just makes things easier for those who can't do the challenge the first time. With certain glitches, such as the old water spawn trick (in FSC), I don't know many who used it regularly. They wanted the crowns because it was their way of making money. Finally, shivermist and blitz aren't OP at all. They've just been utilized to make them more effective, and people caught on. If you try using these weapons in other Tier 3 areas, it's much harder to do. Besides, I've done Vana without either. I used my old Voltedge and silversix (which I eventually traded both). However, other weapons, such as the CIV and other Elemental Brandishes, or even the DA (and other weapons including guns and bombs) work fine as well.
