Did you derps miss me? Neither did I.
Most of this has been sitting around for months but I never felt like finishing the whole dumb thing, but I recently realized people have no idea this entire thread exists so when I post something they think nothing more of it than the ramblings of some idiot because clearly they are correct in every way, unquestionably, because they said so. I will devour your s-
Anyway, poorly set up transition to fiend rebalance. What can I say about them? They do fiendish things very fiendishly. My liquids that was awful. There are four (normal/common) enemies in the fiend family which have two different places in the battlefield. Actually, three. Devilites and Greavers are both fast in mobility and attacks, one having the advantage of range while the other can dash right into your face and backflip your face right off your little noggin. Trojans are akin to minibosses but are better defined as mini-mini bosses, with the ability to grant itself a damage bonus similar to Alpha Wolver but does not give its bonus to other enemies. Its allies, our enemies. Silkwings, the little moth-butterflies, are little medic bugs that have no attacking ability of their own. What defines this family if there are distinctly different roles being filled? Exactly. Fiends are tricky little boogers. You either have to step up and beat the solids out of them or play a little more defensively to set up an opening for a safe attack. I was originally going to save this rebalance for last since this is the one family which can still be considered challenging compared to everything except beasts which can hardly be called threatening to those with IQ ratings with more than two digits. Is it considered offensive to call less intelligent people less intelligent?
Devilite
Guess what? No, not naked time. Save that for tonight. Devilites include not one, but four variants: the normal little booger, Overtimers, Yesmen, and Pit Bosses. Gosh golly gee this is going to be fun. And by fun I mean I will suffer an unholy pain greater than quadruple crucifixion on a Friday which happens to be the thirteenth day of the month while listening to the blasphemous rocking and rolling those young whipper snappers like so much while also committing each of the seven sins in the nude. The joke is this post is about fiends which are considered unholy so I do a bunch of unholy things to match the theme. Are we having fun yet?
{Devilite}
These little, purple, obnoxious, round bellied, pointy eared, purple, evil little abominations of actually being difficult instead of standing completely still and unresponsive at least half the time are very basic fiends. In spite of what some people seem to think they do not have abnormally high health or damage, but if multiple hits land on an incompetent knight who has no idea how to define more complex patterns than single digit addition they suddenly have infinite health and impossible damage rates. Yet of all the "powerful" basic enemies they have yet to be nerfed.
Personally, I would leave these guys as they currently are. They do their job well and can be considered difficult in all tiers, including T1. In all my days, nights, and lunchtimes this particular breed of fiend is as close to the perfect combination of difficulty, pattern learning, and player-mindless-spam countering in a basic/common enemy as we have and I would not change it. Not even in T3. I started with this fiend so the people who expected a nerf can go home early since they probably have no interest in the rest of this.
{Overtimer}
You know the phrase "there is a fine line between genius and insanity"? That phrase is dumb. Not dumb as in stupidly wrong, but if you were to compare genius and insanity side by side you would only be able to tell the difference if you are either. Except that insanity is like a bridge between genius, stupidity, and an undefinable state of mind depending on which direction you see it from. This is going nowhere so I am going to skip to what you want to see.
{Yesman}
desk rules:
{Pit Boss}
Did you even see the T2 stuff? My liquids. That should be more than enough for you people.
Greaver
Been a while since I had the "pleasure" of encountering those cyclops bats. I heard they were nerfed but I have my spinny eyeballs. Which have nothing to do with anything. Relevance. Mine is elsewhere.
Trojan
We need more enemies like this. When people try to spam-projectile-vomit-all-over-everyone-especially-in-their-pants the shield deflects the attack. The one major flaw with this enemy is how easy they are to fool into exposing their back, but I have a trick or two or four up my sleeve. The punch line is I am not wearing a long sleeved shirt right now.
Trojans in all tiers are essentially the same. A lot of enemies are like that. Too many. It makes my face itch.
Was that fake-death-statue-stuff not enough to make you cry yourself to sleep tonight and wake up in a cold sweat the next morning? Well, I better step it up a little. If I go up the stairs one step at a time like this it might take me a year to finally brush my teeth.
Silkwing
Medic is fairy princess.
Couple of things:
"if a Yesman is following a Pit Boss, damage taken by the Pit Boss is redirected to all Yesmen following them (the redirected damage is divided among the Yesmen so they are all equally damaged, but the accumulative damage is the same that would have been taken for the attack which hit the Pit Boss;"
This is a nerf. Currently, exterminating devilites is all about getting the Yesmen before the Pit Bosses. This is because killing Pit Bosses turns the Yesmen into Overtimers. A risk this "buff" completely eliminates.
"the Silkwing can attach itself to the only vulnerable area of a Trojan by attaching itself to its back over the crystal, all damage taken is redirected to the Silkwing; the stupid butterfly can still heal but will only restore half the health per antennae wiggles as it normally would, statuses inflicted to the Silkwing or Trojan are applied to both"
And this kind of seems like a nerf, too, but it depends. Currently, trying to kill Trojans with, say, Pepperbox while it has two silkwings around is pretty tricky. This is because it's hard to kill the silkwings due to the Trojan getting in the way of them and it's hard to kill the Trojan because the Silkwing is on the other side of it, healing it up. Like this, all you have to do to kill the silkwings is to just fight the Trojan like you'd usually do.
Then again, if the silkwing absorbing all the damage stops the Trojan from flinching, a Blitzer would have to deal with the Trojan instantly turning around, taking blitz projectiles in the shield and gaining armour from that, and then bashing the blitzer in the face.
I like it.
Would Trojan armour apply to attached silkwings?
If a Pit Boss is holding coffee and sits at a desk they will use it when damaged, but if they were full health before then we have a serious problem. All I got right now is to make the invincibility temporary and it would consume the coffee after the invincibility wears off regardless if it uses it to heal or not, or replace invincibility with some defense.
I completely forgot about that. Ideally the plan is to make Pit Bosses harder to kill while making Yesmen more supportive, but the reduction to damage taken is plenty between the two. I might make something to replace it but Devilites are already set up pretty well. Otherwise consider that mitigation effect void.
For the butterfly-moth attaching to Trojans I was juggling between letting it heal itself while attached, letting it heal itself and the Trojan it attached to, or only letting it heal the Trojan. I would like to make things for the glowing boogers but having armor health from the Trojan it attaches to protect it would be great.
I should go through and update the rebalances that are up. Procrastination powers, activate!
Cleanup is planned for next weekend so if you have any questions or koalas pootist them before then. Speak now or forever hold your peace. Amen.
What if the Silkwing attaches itself to the trojan and nestles itself underneath the shield part, allowing for only the Trojan to be healed while the Silkwing is shielded from all damage until the Trojan dies?
read most of dis and while a lot is kinda nice the last one is horrible. o_O why buff t2 devs when t2 never complained bout it? evryone hates devilites, so why the freakin hell BUFF them?! sure trojans can be easy but that is more of an innate problem of blitz rather then of trojans.
Trojans are not easy because of Blitz. They are just as easy with any other weapon, it just requires you to do the same thing multiple times. And I would also suggest moving the T2 devilite buffs to T3, since T1 and T2 don't need to be as different but currently T2 and T3 would be the same, and you just said how you hate that.
BUMP!!!!!!
Cheers for the longest 8 page thread!
PICNIC = Problem In Chair, Not In Computer. It's a nice way to blame the user without the user knowing it. :3
Now people are going to think they have to read everything in here because this thread is on the front again.
Disclaimer, Luguiru is not responsible if you die of starvation/thirst from reading this thread. If your brains explode out of your nostrils I am still not responsible for that. If your pants grow teeth around the waist and gnaw at your hips I might be responsible for that because it would be too strange not to enjoy taking credit for, but things that would remind the orderlies to take me back to my padded room are no fun.
And while I am here I may as well share something one or two of you might care about. Lately I have been trying to set up a schedule between Speerul Newts and Wikfoo since it drastically helps refresh my patience and keep the insides of my noggin clear of debris I keep shoving up my nose. From Friday, through the weekend, and Monday I will basically be focusing on Wakfu for most of the day except when I log in to use my mist which will likely be for crafting and only be for a couple minutes. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I set that aside for some Sparring Gnats on the foorims, doing runs in the game instead of crafting my gas away, and starting this upcoming Tuesday continuing on stuff in this thread. That stuff will not necessarily be posted at the same day but those three days will be when I focus mostly on this game so keep your eyes soggy and your socks on your ears and make some elephant noises.
Another thing before I go back to blowing up trees with eyeballs and giant mouths. During my Wukfuh time I will still occasionally watch you all from a secret peep hole in the ceiling. Big Box is watching you. Always. Always. You need to brush your teeth more thoroughly.
I'm still wondering what will be your review of the minis. let's not talk about the UI, or I may be turned in a box too.
Wow.....I don't even.....?.....Lugee! How did you come up with all this! How did I only know about this about a week ago! Granted, I stay away from this sub-forum, but still. This thread is practically alive! It's reforming and changing and adding all the time! I don't even know what to say to this.
/salute Luguiru
Silly Immortous, its not /slaute for Luguiru
Its /BLT God
/salute BLT god
I knew it! I always knew he was a god of some sandwich or another, and know I know. Watch your back Luguiru, the God of Toasted and Buttered Bread is after you now!
Oh luiguru, I have given you a sacrifice, now give us more informtion of BLT lord
My new compootur is scheduled to come tomorrow evening. Tuesday will involve a lot of redownloading games but while that goes I can go back to the drawing board to update and clean up stuff which I was supposed to do last week but the dumb Lockdown threads going on around that time put me out of the mood. I really want to finish that shovel weapon idea I had rolling because of how hilariously strange it is but I have procrastinated on the Glacius and Acheron rebalance for stupidly long.
There are things. Things that are flying around everywhere. These three consecutive sentences have begun with words which begin with the sound "th" which makes me want to repeat the noise audibly for several minutes until my tongue goes numb and my head goes dumb while I smell my thumb after having plunged it into a plum. Yes. No.
i feel the Silkwings too overpowered and underpowered at the same time with this changes.
WHY : Undrpowered
Taking to consideration how many status-inflicting weapons there are in game the ability is simlpy wasted and in T2 there will be no more healings.
WHY : Overpowered
Cursing in T2 (and T3 too) for about 20 seconds is an uninmaginable ammount of time.
The invincibility isn't a threat it is annoyng at best that makes you run around waiting for the invincibility to pop.
SOLUTION:
I'm with you about silkwings needing some self defense so i suggest this:
1)Once they drop below the 15% health the silkwing immobilizes on place (becoming immune to knockbacks) and starts draining it's own health to have a bigger aoe healing consuming 3% of their health each second it remains in this status if killed while performing this attack the attacker will be cursed for 10 seconds with damage from the status curse halved.
Different solution: The curse is actually fine if you know about it. If the silkwing looses however much health in whatever time, it will become invincible, then do the same animation as the Gorgo stomp to create the curse cloud. The curse cloud will be 2 blocks in radius instead of 1.5, and will have a big "curse" eye symbol in the middle of it, to make sure you know what it does.
I don't think many status inflicting weapons are actually used in T2, and they have a lower infliction rate anyway. There are no combusters setting fire to a pack of 10 devilites in T2. It might be nice if the non-healing time was reduced a bit, though. For boh abilities.
And: a cool thread that should really be in here but isn't and I'm not sure why not.
@Klipik
Let me check, /tap doorbell

I can attest to the idea that Luguiru is still alive. He's not really active, rather he... he... Maybe I should say what he actually does.
At some point during a day he goes up to a Crafting Machine and cuts his mist into a spiral, which he then snorts, in one go. After that follows a few hectic minutes of snipe-bothering and looking up Stranger's robes. He then returns to the Crafting Machine and inserts his mist-filled head into the energy receptacle and creates some equipment. He then takes this equipment to the Auction House and throws both the equipment and some crowns at the Strangers manning it. The Strangers, in return, give an envelope full of crowns. Luguiru then proceeds to crash from his energy high and pass out in front of the Auction House, in a pool of his own vomit.
And the cycle repeats itself the next day.

But that's not I came here for. I came here to tell you what I think the material economy is made of. Two concepts you should be familiar with; the rest? Not so much.
1) Supply: How are the materials brought into the game.
2) Demand: How much do people want this material. (And why. If you want to go that far)
3) Consumption: How are these materials removed from the game.
4) Circulation: How many materials are not consumed, but instead are sold to and from players.
5) Storage: How much of these materials are not consumed or circulated, but rather hoarded. (Only effects the market if hoarded in large enough amounts, and then introduced into it)
Why did I tell you this? Because I wanted to insert these ideas into your head.
Would it make sense to rework it a bit (or maybe more than a bit) so that the summoned thingies would somehow be Sprites?
Ominum dofus bor grusholck.....
AKA Necromancy once again.
not on this thread. and not until Lug finishes all the things on the index.
And this thread awaits an official response for being literally the highest quality suggestion thread ever.
Alongside any other thread with the same level of detail and insight.
Luguiru moved on to play games where the devs actually listened to his suggestions.
Not actually making that up, there are games out there where that happens.
Wasn't he a Wakfu player? I don't know, I just want him back.
I honestly stopped checking the suggestions forums after his department. So booooooring
He (and the small eclectic group of people he considered to be passable) had practically the best suggestions ingame. Well written, no "OMG I WANT EM NAO NAO NAO Y U NO GIMME 000 U SUCK", and all that...
/e sighs.
I miss the olden days.
could this just rest till Lug shows up again? you know, we don't need to scare newbies.
There have been incredibly inundate suggestions which are scratching at the incredibly durable surface of nothingness. These suggestions are so lifeless I can fall back asleep.
Let's remind everyone what real suggestions are.
Luguiru made reading suggestions were reasonable, had details (especially damage values), and were entertaining to read.
There are few other reasonable and detailed suggestions (compared to the vast sleuth of I want spiralmon, but no details or let's have dual swerds but no details or info on implementation), but I can't think of any other reasonable and detailed suggestions that were entertaining to read.
Liquids. Oh all the spilled liquids.
Oh, man, I can't believe how stupid i was for thinking Warframe's devs were anything close to good.
I sure hope I didn't end up getting anyone to play that virtual embodiment of broken dreams.
I need this thread for reasons.
Good thread though. Dat nostalgia.
oh yeah, this thread got up here again.
This just a friendly necro to inform people that if they are attempting to search for Luguiru in Dofus or Wakfu (his self-proclaimed loves) then they should be aware that the account name "Luguiru" is banned in both games. This means that it is likely that he is running around under a completely different name. Just in case you ever got your hopes up about meeting him in a completely different game.
Oh, and he has not been online since 09-16-2013, 7:27AM. Just to add to the hopelessness.
Just to show y'all what a real suggestion thread should look like
Heading for some wakfu
