A suggestion to the gate-makers:
Try and put gremlin on 5th stratum not 6th, that way we can jump into depth 19 faster and it's gonna be easier that way, save trawling past basil.

I tried the arena yesterday with Vokster(BFF xD) and it was great. I should have soloed it but lagged alot.

Yeah, there's not really much "documentation" per se, only the info what I've gathered myself and with help from an un-named accomplice is what is known really. All I know is one came from an arena prize box in a grem strata, hope this helps!

Sweet-Hope, Im not really sure deconstruction place where you could find Darkfang Shield. Im pretty sure it comes from
Red boxes. And the place that has most red boxes and gremlins(not sure if it drops from thwacker but Im sure it can
be found in a reb box) is arena IMO. So I came up with this great idea where you can do arena over and over again.
First, the best way for you to get a D shield is soloing. And its alright because gremlin arena are the easiest. So,
you take your alt and put it in a arena(The Start). Then, you go solo. When you are done, rejoin the alt and do the
arena over and over again. This tactic is commonly known as "Arena Looping". I think this
can be used to find the D shield in no time. Alright, I didnt creat the arena looping. I will admit that

New gate!
New gate today so lets build stratum 5 gremlin this time! Also for stratum 6 if you make it construct, poison, or some other status other than shock there is a good chance it may create some other Gremlin levels
@ Thor- they patched looping a long time ago.. Suffice to say your plan wont work. If you deposit your alt and you try to invite yourself it will say you must first reach depth 29 first before you can invite again. Good idea but people abused the hell out of that long ago and so it was patched.

what you are suggesting with looping is a bannable offense, and has resulted in bans in the past, and some warnings as well. Just be careful of things like that. Aside from that, i'm in for the Darkfang hunt!

Don't forget danger rooms! Gremlin Grounds probably count as gremlin levels like Wrench Warfare (Gremlin) arenas. No matter what's in the danger room, if you're in Gremlin Grounds, you'll have a chance of pulling the Shield from there. So get out your Polari because, come Bullet Hell or high water, you'll need to carry your squad through those danger rooms.
OCH has 12 red boxes at the end, and maybe more- I forgot if there were any. And if anything is a Gremlin level, it's OCH. Remind me if any Jigsaw Vallies are particularly red-box-heavy.

Another question: its possible that the amount of people in your group have some effect in the rate drop? i ask this because i remember read on the wiki somewhere that Love Puppy dont drop the true love locket unless there 4 people in your party. so thats why i ask if Dark Fang Shield would have the same deal. if it them i guess im going to start looking party for it or open my group when i reach gremlin stratum.

In the arena, put bunch of charges on one or more gremlins, and when they are chasing you with
group of like 50, detonate it.. Trust me, you will enjoy seeing that sooo much like I did.

Rari and Beeutea told me you have better chance of finding the D shield when soloing. But they dont know anything.

We're aiming for T3 Grem stratums, right? I poured my Crimsonite and Moonstone (save 20 of each, for Geo-Surveys, but if we need a little more that's goin' in too) into the next coming gate, Silver Titan, at S5. However, we'll also want Luminite, to stifle the Dark Matter. Good stuff to go for on your next run.

Aboout this red box craze, I've never had gear drops from red boxes, everything I've had (It's all 1-4*, but it's better than no info) Has all come from green boxes. I think Red ones just contain more money/heat/tokens than green.

It doesn't matter where the Gremlin level pops up just as long as its Stratum 5 or 6 So you are good on Wrench Warfare arena n an ice stratum cause its a gremlin level still. We want to fight gremlins is the point. Thats why its a good idea to find out what stratums outside of Gremlin give the most gremlin levels that way we can put it on Stratum 6 and have as much of the upper stratums yielding gremlin levels.
@Psycho-Dani- Me too! I was wondering why everyone is all hung up on red boxes. All my drops have come from green as well. Also I talked to someone who got one and they got it off a Thwacker so I don't think we should be counting monster drops out either.

Yesterday, me and Danizpsycho did aurora isles, but we had go up because of the patch. He showed me
his three D shield all had double Max. I just wish for the 5* version.
Wow. Our thread is growing with infos, Application and just friendly advice. I got like 20 friend request and guild invites yesterday.

I applaud the efforts here
I applaud the efforts here and think a concerted effort to hunt the Dark Fang is an awesome idea.
I've wanted one for a long time as well.
What would really be helpful is for someone from OOO to let us all know that the shield is still a current and valid item drop.
The game is littered with little tidbits of stuff that may have been around previously but may have subsequently coded out of existence.
(anyone remember being asked for a zee core or wish bone for prestige missions?)
The Magikat helm used to be listed in the wiki when I started playing... but was at some time removed, presumably because they weren't available.
OOO confirmation they are still around - would likely add a lot more hunters. Me included.

Danizpsycho is sad. any of my friends will tell you that the only reason I play now is pretty much because of things like this. I'll still chip into promos, but at end of the day, I'm only playing because of the strange obsession I have with rare items. Collecting and hoarding are different things. Hoarders will never let go, collectors don't want to have something become common.
... That sounded so hipster, but s'who I am, that guy that collects all the rare + useless "crap" (Haters gonna hate my Max Slime Cautery sword), the only reason I have Max UVs all over my arsenal is cos the money I make has no other use. Get 20k, run to punch, and so on.

The Xairathan Gate Analysis!
Because I'm bored and I'm also chipping into this quest, I guess I'll do gate analyses for each Gremlin Gate we create. Please note that these are opinions and that you by no means are obligated to believe, follow, approve of, or condone my rantings.
Sapphire Skull Gate
Although this gate has a cool name, let's face it... this gate sucks :/ Only the first level is definably Gremlin, I'm not crossing my fingers for a shield drop in a Treasure Vault or Graveyard, and the two "garden-themed" levels as 21 and 22 make the only redeemable factor... Basil. Which, as most veteran players know, is a troll second only to the great Shoebox and Njthug.
The levels themselves are pretty sketchy. You've got a choice between a run-your-tail-off Deconstruction Zone: Thwacker-heavy, Treasure Box-light; unless you get the drop off a Thwacker, you're... let's face it- gonna be running in circles for the entire floor. The Clockworks variant is no better: it's got mini-me-Thwacker-shieldless-wannabes, and their only savior is the Treasure Box-heavy nature of said tunnels and the hope for a Danger Room.
Depth 20: Graveyard, Treasure Vault, or Clockworks level!
Graveyard: Zombies. Lack of box. What can I say.
Treasure Vault: Kleptolisks! Boxes! Shield? I don't think so (I'm assuming the level, not strata, must be gremlin-themed in order to score the shield. Please correct me if I am wrong). Reedeming factor: You can still get drops (Shield?) and lotsa, lotsa, LOTSA token.
Clockworks level: See above
Depths 21 and 22: Unless you grab the Gremlin Thwacker-heavy floor 21 and subsequent Gremlin-heavy Floor 22, you'd best not go down. (To check click the gear icon on the upper-left corner of the screen, click Gate Map, and hover over the icon to see the floor title). Those floors are NOTORIOUSLY box-empty, and have no redeeming factors except for the Gremlin-themed variants. (Again, not sure that the shield drops off Thwackers, but I'm writing this under the assumption it does).
Depth 23 to 24: If you got the godly-lucky combo of Gremlin-themed floors and plowed it through to Basil, you've got a choice between a Gremlin-themed poison area or... not. It's worth the delve if you get the Gremlin theme (Green background, orange gear); if not, go up and try again.
That said, I hope someone out there finds this guide at least rather amusing, and I'll be writing one for every.. single... gate. This is gonna take forever.
