So we got the gate...
So the new Vanaduke gate not only has achieved Gremlin theme, the very first level is a guaranteed arena! So, two quick questions, if anyone knows or has opinions:
-Can equipment drop from Green Treasure boxes? (Arenas have a ton!)
-Do we think Jigsaw Valley counts as a "Gremlin" level (and can therefor drop the shield)?

Anything with a single gremlin in it, is capable of being considered a "gremlin" gate. While yes, grem gates are the best, construct can work too (as their grem counts are high too). Gremlin-based mats and gear drop in construct gates (I would know because graviton dropped in IMF, and HEAVY DECON dropped in a construct gate as well). So, if we widen our span to grem/construct, I believe making close to all t3 vana gates capable of dropping a DF is a reality.
This is why more rare items need to be made, this kind of effort and teamwork (a supposed goal of 3R) only is brewed out of the hunt for the rareness.

Darkfang Thwackers massacred in the thousands...
If not their tens of thousands....
I have been quietly lurking, helping (with minerals into gates), and searching as well. I have killed LOTS of Darkfang Thwackers. I know of several friends who have been doing the same, who are not listed here or known participants. I have not seen an equipment drop in weeks, either from a creature or from a treasure box. Then again, I am seriously unlucky (haven't received an iron lockbox from the prize wheel in maybe 2 months), so your results may vary.
In my experience, all of my own equipment drops have been from treasure boxes, both green and red. They have been rare, for me, and I have not seen enough to establish a connection between level type and drop. But I will hold onto hope and keep trying ....
My weapon of choice for Gremlin levels, especially deconstruction zones, is the Acheron. I have used Glacius and Combuster also.

Got a lame fused demo suit while farming the s5 gremlin levels when that new Gremlin/Vanaduke gate came up. Yes acheron is a good gremlin killing weapon.. since they made brandishes extremely overpowered. Especially when you have a ctr med/gremlin high/lame slime low Acheron with Vog set/BTS shield and play the levels solo... wrecks everything that is a gremlin.

So the other day
Got a skelly shield and an owlite shield in the same day. Was pretty neat, although not particularly shiny.
Also, once the depth 19 guaranteed arena disappears, I mighhhhht consider dumping a few thousand blues and reds in a gate at once. But the hoard. I luvs the hoard.

There is no reason to make another gate if there is still an active gremlin gate.. that is just a waste of minerals. On the other hand I'm getting bored of SK again so they better hurry up and spit out some new missions so I can have something to do while I wait for PSO2 (english) next year.

? I'm confused as to why you're giving us your loadout. But HEY! hit me up tomorrow yeah? if you're guild is willing to help, I could use u and them in constructing a gremlin Tier 3 gate. Tomorrow's gate is perfect because its the twins gate so if you put a status in Stratum 5 and Gremlin in stratum 6 you're more than likely gonna get more than just 5 gremlin levels to hunt on. At least this has been my experience when constructing gates in the past. I hope to hear form you and gain the aid of you and your guild

i have been hunting for the mythical shield for a while now,changing gates and doing runs and all... so here's my info

Gear (i usually use for hunting): Grand flourish, DA, vog cub coat, miracle hood, wise owlite shield
and btw, this new gate is coming up (emerald bishop) ... i have asked alot of my friends and guild (definitely payed significantly too) to help make it and have made stratum 5 gremlin, but i am still afraid that it will not suffice... help!
P.S. i will be joining this little race, but not any guilds or groups or anything... friend requests are welcome, though :D

I been hunting this for while now in Deconstruction Zones. While it's not been confirmed it drops there, if the Gremlin Thwackers do drop it then Deconstruction Zones are the best place to go since they appear everywhere. Fire-themed is bad because it replaces almost all of them with the flamethrower guys.
If you wish to add me to let know people i am hunting for the shield, feel free to. IGN is same as here. (Chainguy) I have been trying to make T3 a Gremlin themed zone, Amber Queen Gate was gonna be one but it got changed just a few minutes before it launched. I will help towards the gates by dumbing in all my Moonstone and Crimsonite whenever i can.

@ Noblax Stratum 5 Gremlin is no good. If you've read this thread I point this out many times. When u make stratum 5 gremlin: first u make no money on your loops to make the hunting even worth it; second every Gremlin Stratum has Jigsaw Valley in it which means half(2/4) the levels are always gonna be construct in stratum 5 ( I have a suggestion thread to take these out of gremlin stratums due to lack of gremins; please support! http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/69623); Third if u make stratum 5 construct and 6 gremlin you actually split the jigsaw valley levels and usually keep them close to 23 meaning all the gremlin levels are at the end of gate meaning greater rewards and higher chance of a shield drop and! (most importantly) construct stratums do have decon zones in them. I have found if u build the IMF gate this way u end up with at least 2 decon zones before the gremlin strat increasing your gremlin levels from 3 to 5 (3 because like i said 2 are always jigsaw valley. Always, I've been doing this for quite awhile).
So like always I plead that u all stop making stratum 5 gremlin. BUT! most people seem to have e-passes so looping 2 levels is no problem for them and they can afford to take 500-800 crowns for 2 levels over and over. Myself and others cannot and though that's not much of a good reason to convince you to do otherwise I hope my pleas reach you

YOu want to know why its so bad to make a gremlin theme at stratum 5 look at the coral falcon gate. 4 levels, half of them are Jigsaw valley a construct heavy level and 1 of them is the random level. which means all in all u only get 1 actual guarenteed level that is going to be gremlin which by the way still drops items, crowns, and heat as if it were tier 2. So congratulations people, you just wasted all your minerals for nothing. No one is gonna pull a dark fang from that gate.

nice i found a group dedicated to find that elusive shield. COUNT ME IN! but if i am a bit too late, oh well.
