For use of comboing with an Electron Vortex, should I get a Triglav or Sudaruska?

Hello all,

Just today, I was lucky enough to get a hold of a Troika with CTR med. The primary use I have in mind for this is to throw down an Electron Vortex next to a group of mobs, and then charge a troika line and release its great AoE charge attack on the mobs. I have looked over some of the Triglav vs. Sudaruska threads, but those are mostly about the troika lines for general use (which is most likely what I'm not planning to do, as I already have plenty of other swords.

So these are some personal pros and cons of getting either line:

==== SUDAAAAA ====

Pros:
~ Shock from EV doesn't interfere with stun from Suda.
~ I know for a fact that it's quite powerful on vortexed mobs, as I have partied with Suda users.

Cons:
~ I'll have to pay the recipe costs in crowns, but I have plenty of Krogmo Coins to otherwise get the Triglav line.
~ Buggy stun (subject to fixing).
~ Monsters have a higher chance of flying around everywhere (which is what I don't want).

==== Triglav ====

Pros:
~ Recipes are easier to get, as I have plenty of Krogmo coins.
~ Freeze and shock can hold down the monsters and prevent them from flying everywhere.

Cons:
~ Shock may interfere with freeze.
~ Not completely sure how well Triglav would work on vortexed mobs.

If you have more pros and cons, feel free to list them.

Thanks again,
~Lizzi

Triglav if 100% efficency,

Triglav if 100% efficency, ice stops all knockback on hit.

Went over that idea myself and still use it almost everywhere I go; I find Suda to be better than Trig, as I switch between EV and Shiver, so everything is either shocked or frozen already, making the Triglav's bonus pointless *for me*, and letting Suda open up to another status effect, buggy or otherwise.

However, if you're only using the two of them, I'd still be less impressed by Trig purely because the freeze interrupts the weapons own KB, leaving you standing in the face of a baddy, which is precisely the opposite of what you want with slow swinging, high KB swords. Altough, in EV you don't need to charge, you can always just take swings at them and let them get sucked back into the vortex repeatedly.

I'd have to say Triglav, but you probably already know that from here- http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/61167

Triglav

Triglav if you have to chose between those two but get a WRH if at all possible, it does wonders with an Electron Vortex

if i had to list usefulness with the vortex on some of the better swords in the game it would probably be 1. any brandish 2. (for elemental) WRH although i tend to be bias towards my hammers, as you shouod know by now lizzi, and 3(for anything else) suda, stuns going to get fixed eventually and slow enemys are still vortexable as opposed to frozen enemies.

Freezing an enemy mid-vortex is still useful, as it ensures that it will not receive knockback after the explosion. Suda also has a tendency to hit enemies out of the vortex, nullifying the shock/small amount of damage dealt by the vortex, but more overly scatters them requiring the user to re-vortex them. Oh, and your team mates can also hit them for damage if you freeze them with triglav rather than shoot them out of the vortex with sudaruska.

Dread Venom Striker is rather dangerous to use alongside vortex; it will do more overall damage than sudaruska for sure, but its far riskier to use in such a situation. You can always get the 2* for it and practice not getting hit if you'd like as well.

Personally I've never found

Personally I've never found the vortex to be there as much to cause the damage/shock in it's own right. If it does shock them, cool, try again, but it's not WHY I vortex them; I do that just to gather them all up together in one nice wee bundle. Then follow up with a Suda charge and you can pretty much just ohko them all. Any survivors get flung back, stunned, shocked etc and are in perfect position just to be vortex'd again, or shot to death with your sidearm.

Whereas if they got frozen and survived, I'd promptly get stabbed where I stand.

Just how I roll it.
