Bear with me, this may take sometime.
First of all is the issue of World of Warcraft. Believe it or not this game is yet another WoW clone similar to those annoying pop-ups that come when you try to watch anime. The emote's in the chat are the same, the /trade, /zone, /g is all the same. Even taking it to the level ot the /g chat being the same colour of the chat in WoW! The point of perspective is also nearly the exact angle to your character as it is in WoW. Idea of Shadow Lairs is also very similar to the huge Raids in WoW as they take a long time and are harder than all other instances.
Secondly! Money money money. I personally have played this game since the day it released on steam, and i have seen it decline ever since. At the start, the updates were honest and whole heartedly trying to improve the game. These days however virtually no real new content is being added ot the game. It's just promo after promo after promo of useless accessories that actually do nothing for your knight. And oh what a surprise! they cost a stupid ammount of money for a small chance of you getting what you want. Please Three Rings: For once just add some legitimate content that we can play for free and enjoy, and yes i accept that fact this is a F2P game so they need to make their profit but shoving an entry point of my card details into my facy every single time i log on is not the way to do it. Yes i accept they people may want to buy CE to craft their armor as they may not have the time or are too short sighted too see the goal is not that far awey. but honestly, a glowing ring above your head costing your parents (yes dont even get me started on what you kids are doing to your parents walets) around £150, just for you to get bored of it and change to a different costume in a week. Please Three Rings! add decent content instead of money grabbing!
My third and last issue with the game is the ease of it all. Literally i dont think i have once been challanged in this game. Even at Tier 3 (supposidly the hardest places in the game) you can easily go through Firestorm Citadel takeing what....2 hits? and thats if your half assleep. And oh! look Shadow Lairs! thing that will actually test my skill! brilliant. Oh look i would have to either spend spend spend my money or farm for about a month. Yeah thanks for that Nick.
I dont blame Three Rings for these issues, you made a free to play game with a good base idea and it is relativly successful, i applaud you for that. But i think it has all gone downhill. Maybe Sega are pushing you to make more revanue? Maybe you saw the opertunity and the target market of the younger generation and though to make a quick buck by shoving promo, after promo in our faces, who knows.
Finally i would just like to say that i love this game. Now that i am (finally) tier 3. Having spent no money it is incredibly satisfying to be full geared up off the sweat of my brow, not from someones wallet. The game mechanics are fun, the levels are beutiful at times (especially the wolver based ones), the music is great and very fitting, and the story is very immersive and makes you think hard about Cradel's past...
Please leave your views below but for the love of gawd, dont go "omg is amazin game sht up stoopid", this is MY OPINION after all.....
It could be a coincidence that we have similar chat channels, though I am still disappointed by the lack of a real chat box for this game. Lairs were a suggestion a while ago but the bosses we got are fairly uncreative. They probably take all their new boss ideas and shove them in those danger prestige missions which only last a couple floors. Because an ice Trojan is so creative.
Infinite agreement. There are more than enough ideas over there to have solid updates to the game at least once a week if they could create them that fast. By solid I mean the kind of things that would work, not all the healing-pet-walrus-laser-rockets-pants nonsense people vomit all over the floor and call artistic genius. This alone would probably spark crafting sprees everywhere, meaning CE is bought and used, meaning profit; the problem is making it to begin with. Then we have the hilarious yet considerable things like this which seem like satires of bad ideas, but when you laugh for an hour or so realize how creative and unique it is. There are countless other threads I could link so check the index here, the first listing for my stuff and the list under the first giant line for other threads. You might find something you like.
They keep nerfing enemies (Wolver swiveling, Retrode health, etc.) and buffing us (mostly the universal gun and bomb damage buff, which from a balancing standpoint was the laziest possible solution while still doing something). Then when they try to create difficult content it has tedious or disappointing restrictions like Lair keys. Then with the mission update boss tokens and floors (which have higher payouts than normal floors) fed the inflation on CE prices on the player market and made boss token equipment, which is supposed to be "rare", more common.
The constant promos probably come from a combination of keeping us occupied while they work on something like the guild hall stuff or to make a few quick bucks before players leave out of boredom. But before adding more new content, what about what we already have? What about all the unbalanced equipment collecting dust as recipes because no one is crafting them? Is their priority to make a promo that only people with open wallets can get without breaking their backs or making practical equipment desirable so people are getting energy, possibly buying it? They keep waving fancy hats and frilly dresses demanding dollars while one of the main points of the game (expanding your personal arsenal to have a variety of equipment) is ignored because only a few things are useful.
And then Luguiru was about to write a derpbillion paragraph long rant on getting Three Rings to shape up and stop trying to scam people through stupid cosmetics and instead focusing on the game before getting money with the least effort but was banned because he cares about the game being enjoyable while everyone else just wants more recolored hats.
