Decided to change the title as the thread is about latency issues not the game itself. I'm not drunk mate, I'm high. :D

I've been playing this GAME for 2975 hours, up to now the lack of an Asian/Australian server really annoys me, why WOULD YOU OOO sell your liscence/whatever to a random Asian company instead of just making a server there, some people say it's Amazon to blame but I don't [insert something here]ing care! I'm always one bar, when I see 2 or 3 or 4 it's worse, it's an obvious symbol of lag. Seriously, which game with a descent amount of players doesn't have servers located in Asia; also purchasing CE from countries like China is impossible, they won't let you. What is this? Racism? Do Asian players not deserve TO SPEND THEIR OWN [insert something here]ing MONEY and a SERVER? Tell me - no - tell US, are we going to get a server or not? Just make if [dfgdsgsg]ing clear! YES or NO, or maybe ignore since OOO is brilliant at this.

I'm sick of this endless lag. Devilites deserved to get nerfed, or at least optimised for trash 1bar players like us that have no love in this game. Shielding is usless, they hit you like 2 seconds before you even try to shield, what is this? WHAT IS THIS? It's a game which is close to unplayable! (Especially HoI, I can solo every non-SL mission but this one)

Some people love to whine (like me), and they say crap like 'YEAH everyone is lagging', well you should take this false sarcasm and shove them in opposite direction of your mouth.

This 1 bar made us become a TOTAL DRAG in teams, sometimes we die and don't even know how - nor wth killed us. OOO is like isolating us from the mainstream of this society, which is EU and US. Giving Gamecyber - a company who can't even do translations the rights to run this game even pisses me off further, why? WHY? It is like enclosing Asia into a small group isolating us from the main community, we don't deserve what we get, WE DO NOT! WE are not sub-down citizens in this game and deserve equal rights.

Some people may say 'Just quit playing!' Well, to be honest I've dumped lots of money into this game, this game is fun, is awesome, is interesting and entertaining, but the lack of a server draws all positives to a negative extremity, something like -1/0. Some of my friends tried playing but eventually left due to the hellish lagging, rubberbanding, monsters running across screens. Disgustingly pathetic.

I don't think nor do I expect OOO to answer my question, I just want someone who has a clue and to make it clear, in the future are we getting a server or not? Will we have the opportunity to sync our character to that genius translator gamecyber or not?

We currently have no idea how the finance of OOO is going. But... Sega publishes Spiral Knights, so they probably own the servers. Ask SEGA (yes they are very rich) to buy you a server then :P

Ask Sega Europe for an asia server.. oh right I'm guessing its only Sega America that owns SK. Plus I don't even think the EU server is a real server... probably just another Amazon EC2.

It is no surprise to OOO that they need worldwide servers to provide a worldwide game - and it has been requested a hundred times. They know about it. There is clearly a logical explanation for the purpose of them NOT implementing said server(s).

So, why bring up a pointless rant about some conspiracy theory that OOO is racist? Your threats and arguments mean little to OOO, as you are just mindlessly blowing off steam. I could make similar rage-oriented arguments about why OCH isn't buyable via anything except Steam and a Credit Card - even though it has already been addressed.

Be it as it may, lag/delay in the clockworks is manageable. I occasionally lag and the delay is beyond huge for a game that relies on quick wits and fast hands.
You must simply acquire foresight to deal with it and its not that hard as I have soloed all the games bosses excluding shadow lairs because its too expensive and there is immense spawn lag as well as delay but those are unncessary challenges.
I am from Western Australia and am constantly 1-barring, though I will occasionally see a glimmer of hope as the red dot momentarily turns into an orange 2-bar but it quickly disappears leaving me utterly disappointed. You could paralllel this example with that of Bane exiling Batman to the pit.

But I digress, the problem is your focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck.

I have real life friends playing this game. It was one way of getting together and hang out. Even though I have 250-300 ms ping, it doesn't matter as long as I had fun. If you don't really have a reason to play this game, then don't play it, there are other games out there for you to play.

You've played for that long and you can't even latency counter?
I live in Australia and I've only played for less than a third of that time, and I have no problem with devilites.

On topic I think we do need an Australian server or even an Asian server sometimes I get random lag spikes even if I am on 3 bar connection

This game is 'area restricted' but will allow you to use a 'foreign payment method' in restricted countries, such as using an Aussie Visa card in China to buy CE, too bad I didn't bring mine...

No. Sorry mate. And I also didn't imply any direct quotes of racism, maybe my language is a bit strong but yes, I believe OOO is a great company. Just that they need to talk to us more. :)

Why should I leave? Saying no love means monsters all take advantage of our 1 bar, such as shielding at the instant a devilite throws out his attack animation is useless. Devilites, Greavers, Lumbers and sometimes jellies are a nightmare. Also wolvers, they teleport to me, I keep on running then rubberbanded back to the spot and then gangbang.

PVP is where the fun is and its where you can see the delay/lag strike you with the force of a thousand fists. On a good day i'll get a ping of 320-375 ms and still teleport at crucial times. I also find it funny that some of the most dominant LD players are european ala Hadn, Mental-jim and Mitzy-ro, there is no doubt these euro players are disadaantaged when fighting the americans on their turf but they still manage to dominate everyone even after telling us all how much they lag leading me to believe they either have 1.little delay, but huge lag spikes, 2. a poverty communist internet connection 3. wizard powers. While fellow aussies such as smashgear and lordepicface manage godlike damage with 1 bar. PVP requires godlike wizard powers for us aussies, but it is still do-able as you simply have to learn and adapt to survive.
I've actually asked them, some European LDers still get 2 bars despite playing on a US server, but you know Internet in Australia is extremely undeveloped and most Asian countries have dense population which directly affects the ping. I do LD only for some fun, that's why I chose some funny stuff such as guardian gunning, on a good day I get 8~15k+ but on a laggy day I get around 3k. :P
Aussie Internet = pay more, get more. If you pay like $300+/month in Australia your Internet is good. There's some internal problems due to old Telstra copper wires, the wires can't carry high voltage therefore I can't get the best speed. It'll cost at least $5000+ to fix this problem. I'm moving soon so meh...

I can. But I'm not in Australia now, this is the problem. Play style depends on your connectivity... (If I was in Australia I will be able to solo that HoI and not hit 1000ce revs like a noob.)

I do know what is caused by my Internet and what is the result of server-sided lag. This is not me to blame, but there is absolutely no server in this part of the Earth, this is a major problem.

I am from asia as well...fiend are not so bad...unless you have paper shield :/...dispite having 1bar or should I say 1 dot connection I still manage to repel attack using shield..you just need to practice...us asian becoming a total drag to the team is just a myth...oh and...don't use facebook when playing sk...it lag you a lot...in addition to that check your connectivity, don't directly blame OOO, sometimes the connection is just bad...
The annoying thing about my Chinese Internet is, sometimes it's very good, better than in Australia, no lag at all, shield works, and bullets are fine and [dodgeable]<-- I know this is not a word. But sometimes my internet screws and therefore things fly across the screen, I'm playing SK in an unusual place...

I do love this game, in fact I love and enjoy playing it, but every game has it downside and in this case - SK doesn't have a server in my region. This rant I brought up actually has nothing to do with this game, just the lag issues and servers.

Pfft, I normally don't reply to my own threads. :P But yeah, hope I don't look like a raging 12-year-old here. One reason that contributed to my rant is HSC mark release (High School Certificate), and I didn't do well therefore tried playing SK as stress relief... This made me angrier. :c
BTW I'm using a VPN here, don't know why SK forums is blocked in China, weird government.

Never knew hades was from 'straya as well.
And pretty much everything he's said about the lag is true - I've learnt to counter it, but things like having to clear floor hazards and shield a second earlier to avoid damage really get on my nerves. Lockdown can be fun with people poking me with toothpicks from 6 blocks away, but that doesn't particularly bother me.
If OOO ever decided to get a server for the asian region I would be eternally greatful

I'm Asian too, and I go back to china every summer and winter, so I understand your pain and annoyance with the lag... I've gotten used to it, sorta, but it really bugs me when I happen to lag at the worst moment possible, such as fighting darkfire vana, and I get killed cuz of it... -_- makes solos ridiculously expensive...
All you hafta do in china is make sure you aren't using china's default connection, their main database with the wifi... Make sure you have broadband too... Can't really do much about the lack of servers, but at least having a stable wifi connection itself can help

Well, it's your own fault for dumping money into a game that you barely knew (since I'm assuming you did so when you first started playing). Honestly, you've got to learn to live with the lag.

that are doing well against devilites and generally managing their lag, I think you should consider what you are doing to optimize your own connection rather than yelling at three rings to create a nearer server.
It's just that I can't use Youtube right now to upload videos of this hilarious Chinese lag, yeah! You basically get rubberbanded all over the place, my Internet is fine. I don't know why and also don't know how. If anyone is able to provide OOO's US server IP address for me to perform a [tracert] I'll try and figure out. But with this lag now, no matter how skilled you are, you're screwed. For instance: In a WF mission when everyone starts to run out of the screen (time out) you end up dead in a freeze trap. This actually rarely happen to me when I was in Australia. My download speed in Australia is around 1.8MBps while in China it's 6~10MBps.

Welcome to china mate ;D This is my life! Incidentally I swear the lag got worse after a reported update to the great firewall designed to automatically close ports being used by vpns or something like that. It got worse in a rather odd way, almost as if every other packet was being blocked. Not that I actually have any understanding whatsoever of network traffic. It's nice and clear after midnight though...which is a pretty awkward time to play.

For the HSC well, I screwed it up, I didn't make it into my desired course therfore attempting to play SK as stress relief, instead of enjoying like usual all I got was endless lagging, rubberbanding, teleporting and fiends [xxx]ping me in my [$#%] which was a pain. Revive counter went up to 1000 lol, which contributed to this rage. I was kind enough to not violate ToS thought. :D The EV settled me down a bit, as it worth way more than 10+20+40+80+160+320+640+1000 ce.

I would sympathize with the OP, but alas, it's China. For a country with a good internet system, they just love to ban off everything else.

Tis' not an easy thing to get over with, especially if you sank some money into it. People play to have fun, unless you are a hardcore player who plays to win.

Of course, blaming OOO won't solve the problem anyway, because OOO doesn't deal with any servers. OOO hates talking about server lag or malfunction problems, because then they have to write a letter to Sega and ask them. The only think OOO does is the development of the game. Unless Sega plans to buy a cheap server near Asia or Australia, we living in the east will have to deal with these disadvantages.
