Yup. That's what I'm talking about.
Chapter 11
Fripper's Perspective
I wearily stumbled back into the apartment the Order provided for me and Tamara, exhausted from the events that happened a few hours ago. The knights I had to rescue almost tried to kill me, but they were too weak to do as much as a scratch to me. It did take a while to explain that I was rescuing them, and i had to take a lumber arm to the head to gain their trust, and I could still feel my head aching. I pushed open the door to my apartment, and was instantly squashed when Tamara hugged me so hard. "I thought you were dead!" she cried. True, the knights made me sit and rest when I took the hit from the lumber, almost up to half an hour. I gently took her arms off around me and told her that Ozlo wanted to see me. She insisted on coming, and I said, "Sure, why not."
I knocked on the door, and heard Ozlo say, "Come in." I opened the door, and saw him waiting. Feron stood next him, a permanent scowl on his face. Ozlo, however, ignored him and turned instead to congratulate me. "Well, I suppose that this makes up a little bit for the amount of Vanguard knights you killed, but we grateful for your service to the Order. Now, what was your business here, again?"
Yet again, I told him the dream that I had, a burned up Colony, Vog himself coming to share ominous words with me. Ozlo was politely listening, while Feron wore a disbelieving look on his face.
"Now, I'm requesting your help to kill Tinkinzar. I helped you out with your squad, so it's only fair that you help me out as well, right?"
Ozlo considered this. "Well, you're right-"
"We don't have any reason to help out the gremlins," Feron interrupted. "What have they done for us?"
Ozlo shot a sharp look at him. "Fripper has helped us rescue a squad of brave knights from dangerous territory," he reminded. "Don't forget that one of those knights was your friend Harry." Feron fell silent, knowing that Ozlo had struck a soft point. "Anyways, Fripper, I already have the best squad just for you," he paused. "How would you like to work with the knights that you just rescued?"
"I think that's an excellent idea, Ozlo."
Now, hold on a second here!" That was Feron. He was glaring at me from his position. "These knights just got home, and now you're sending them off into danger again?"
Ozlo sighed. It occurred to me that he must not like Feron any more than I do in a mood like this. "I already made up mind, Feron." With his hand, he motioned us away. "You should go and meet your squad, Fripper. I do expect that you get them away safe and alive."
"Of course, Ozlo."
----------------------------------------------------------------------In the Briefing Room---------------------------------------------------------------------
I walked in with Tamara, and saw a familiar looking group of 4 knights, ones that I rescued mere hours ago. The only female noticed me and said to the others, "There he is!" They all turned, and smiled at me. I examined them a bit more carefully, now that there weren't bullets whizzing around and things trying to kill me anywhere near. One I noticed was tall and strong. Definitely has been a swordsman for a greater deal of his life. The female was slimmer, and had two Argent Peacemakers strapped to her belt. A gunslinger. The youngest person in the group obviously spent his life like mine. Shrouded with secrets. Of course he was a Recon. The last person had a fiery Vog set, as well as many bizarre modified weapons strapped all over his body. His back, his chest, and his belt were covered with weapons. He seemed to be the leader. He was the first to extend his hand. "Hey, I'm Harry." So this was Feron's friend. The female introduced herself as Kara, the recon was Jordan, and the swordsman Mitch. I introduced Tamara, and this time, I didn't hide the fact that she was my girlfriend. They weren't that surprised, considering that we were really close to each other, and that I had one hand on her shoulder. Now, we were ready for Vog's challenge.
