Last chapter, I believe. As for Tarn and Roller Toaster, since they didn't do much in this fic (Sorry, sometimes it's hard to fit people in), the sequel will involve them much more, so don't worry!
Chapter 19
Fripper's perspective
I was determined to have this business finished once and for all. As I arrived at the outside of the Colony, I encountered some guards. They recognized me as the guy who was wanted for 2 billion crowns, but they fell down with knives in their throat before they even had a chance to aim their alchemers. Further down, another guard was knocked out and dragged into a storage room full of weapons and locked inside. With luck, he wouldn't recover before this was all over. I put on his clothes to act like a guard, and walked into the city. The square was a bustling crowd of gremlins trading spare parts, and it struck me how similar to Haven this was. I pulled out three gold coins from my pouch for some shadowtech alchemer charges, and the offer didn't take long. So now, walking with my two hundred rounds out shadow rounds, I walked toward the palace.
The two guards took a look at me, then barred my way. "No normal guards are allowed inside, only the Crimson order-"I emptied a clip of shadow into his stomach and smacked the other one on his head with the gun.
"I am the Crimson Order, fool." I muttered. I discarded my guard disguise, and came out in my shadowy clothing and dozens of knives. As soon as I stepped inside, some gremlin noticed me and pulled the alarm. I blasted him off his feet, then charged my gun up. As soon as the security door burst open and a dozen guards poured out in a heaping, angry mass, I released the charge, letting the ricochets deal with the group. Leaving them screaming in agony, I ran towards the throne room, and blasted the lock with five clips. The door burst open, and I was faced by the rest of the Crimson Order, along with an army of Mecha Knights. Tinkinzar was sitting on his throne, his royal Almirian Spear in hand.
"Die," he said simply, and the army moved forward.
Now, I've never fought such an army before, but luckily, the Mechas were very badly made, as mass production had affected their quality. I took out a Divine Avenger given to me by Harry, who was a very loyal friend, unlike some gremlins that I know. I smashed through the line, dodging left and right to avoid the swords of the mechas as well as the bullets from the AP/Sentenza duel wield of the Weapons Specialist, Hiro. His bullets tore through his own troops and launched themselves at me. I dodged the bullets, then threw a knife at him. It imbedded itself in his armor, but he didn't seem to be hurt. He expertly reloaded, popping the used shells out and skillfully popping new ones back in. He then continued to fire at me. An AP bullet hit me, but it didn't hurt me, although it did draw some blood. The Sentenza, on the other hand, punched a hole through my shoulder. It flared with pain, but I knew that if I stopped, he would pump both guns into my skin. I shot my gun at him, an entire clip. He dodged the first one, but the second one buried itself in his heart. He stared at me for a second, then crumpled to the floor, dead.
The next one up was the new Warmaster. I didn't know his name, but he obviously wasn't in service long enough for him to get in the flow of things. He laid dead on the floor with a knife in his heart and a bullet in his head.
I dealt with the rest of the members, and now all the remaining 7 (9 members, Herex and Fripper are not in) laid either dead, unconscious, or groaning with pain. However, I suffered a few more bullet holes, and a Gran Faust had glazed my left arm, but I was still alive and well. Tinkinzar, however, merely laughed.
"You put up quite a performance, Fripper! I love watching you deal with your enemies, it is just entertaining."
"Just give up, Tinkinzar. You aren't going to win this."
"Oh no?" He feigned surprise. "I don't think you know me. Unlike most rulers, I myself have been trained, and I am well known for fending off all of the Crimson Order like you just did, only with no scratches. And if that doesn't worry you, I got a good amount of custom made Mecha Knights in that gate to my left. Their AI is very specially modified, so you will have trouble with just two of them, much less a small army."
I gritted my teeth. Maybe the Mecha Knights were a lie, but I knew the hard way that Tinkinzar was right about his abilities. He was also right about me being injured. I had a bullet hole in my right shoulder, my hip, the side of my stomach and a huge magnus bullet in my back. Nonetheless, I raised my gun. "I'm not backing down, Tinkinzar. You may not care about our people, but I do. And I will not let them down to some tyrant like you!" Then I shot my gun.
Tinkinzar dodged with incredible reflexes and agility, backflipping off the throne he was sitting on and landing behind it. The bullet charred the chair where his head just was. At the same time, he took four deconstruction bombs, and yelled, "Catch!" I rolled out of the way, but was a bit slow for the follow up. He thrust his spear, and it sliced my arm. Blood flowed from a new wound, and I noticed something. My heart was beating incredibly fast, and also painfully. I recognized the symptoms from the Compound Poison 209. Tamara's prediction had been slightly off, and I estimated that I only had about three hours to live.
Tinkinzar thrusted again, and I shot at the spear, hoping that I could knock it out of his hands. Unfortunately, it backfired on me, literally. The bullet deflected off his spear, and landed only inches away from me. Any closer and I would have killed myself. Tinkinzar laughed at this, and stabbed down. The spear pinned my clothes to the floor, and I struggled to escape. Tinkinzar was taking his time with me. He was having lots of fun. I, on the other hand, was not. I ripped free. I realized my mistake when Tinkinzar slapped me with his spear, the sharp blade slicing my face. More blood. I didn't feel the pain though. That didn't matter now. All I wanted was to get this over with. I pulled a Big Angry Bomb out of my pocket, yet another gift from Herex. Tinkinzar saw this and slapped it out of my hands, but he was a second slow. I had pressed the detonation key and he knocked it away.
The blast of the strongest bomb known to the knights threw me into a pillar, and also unbalanced Tinkinzar. His spear had broken in half. He seized this moment I was vulnerable, and leapt on me. I recognized the knife that had given me the brutal scars that now covered my body. I caught his hand as it started coming down, but he had an advantage. He had put all his body weight on it and even for a fit king, that was more than my arm strength could handle. I jerked back at the last moment, and it stabbed into my collar instead of my head. It wasn't to say that it was any better; it was just that it didn't kill me. I kicked him off, and at the same time, a familiar group of 4 knights and 2 gremlins came in, followed by two other gremlins. Of course, it was my team. But who were those other two-?
Herex and Tarn walked in after, with Herex walking with a limp. He offered me a hand. I stared at him in shock.
"After all I do to you, you come back to help?" He nodded. I felt relief wash over me as Tamara ran to me and kissed me. I tried to kiss back, but I was already slipping away, to darkness...
-----------------------------------------------------End. THNX to those 3-4 people that noticed-------------------------------------------
So that was a long ending, and I plan to have a sort of sequel coming later on, let's hope that that will end sooner than this. I have not made plans yet, but it should be here by Friday. Bye!
Herex is hurt, with a knife in his leg. Fripper takes pity on him, so Tarn helps him out. They go to the colony.
Harry is worried. Fripper's old side is coming out, and Tamara is getting more lonely than ever.
At night, Harry kisses Kara.
