What music do you listen to?(Discussion)
I have heard that song on the radio many times, and I always wanted to know what the song was called.Never did found out...until today =D
As for what you posted Thuderbog, I was looking at the comments and the related videos, and saw that it was a game. Is it any good? As for the actual music, it seems like the type that you enjoy while in game, but by it's self is ok, but is better with gameplay.
I got a few more. Music Video may be gruesome. Viewer discretion advised.

hi
@Iam- So it's a British Alternative/Pop band, named Alt-J. Got it. I looked them up (Have yet to listen to a song. D=), and seeing as they just released an album last year, and received some British prize thing, I can definitely see them becoming popular in the U.S.! I just need to listen to them...
~
@Thunder- Y u no leave link?? I didn't get the chance to listen to it, but I did click on it before being rushed off to do some random task. The tab didn't stay up for some reason. Don't be afraid to delve into this with us! We're all here to broaden our horizons with new music, not to criticize everyone's taste.
~
@Hero- I know! I love that song! And I love the band, who has a new album out in...26-27 days? I gotta say I prefer their old stuff though. The "A Beautiful Lie" era. Here's the "Rebirth" version of the song, rather than the original "Bury Me" one. The sound is a tiny bit clearer, and the vocals are lacking the rasp, and the scream in the bridge. There's an orchestra in the background too.
~
@Shotjeer- Fall Out Boy is amazing! I haven't heard those songs yet, but sometime soon I will. This computer I use doesn't play sound...or it'll freeze. =( I have to wait for a chance to use a different computer...
~
@Modelp- Ah another Touhou fan and whatnot. I believe we have a few forumites with similar interests amidst this thread! Particularly Blade-Of-Grass mentioned it on the last page.

Egypt Central - Surrender
Ya, Alt-j's getting popular there. They seem to have a discord to their songs that's off but interesting to me. I generally hear it towards the end of every song. If you're into punk, punk isn't really dead and there's many new and upcoming punkers there too.
So I listened to the two Alt-J songs you said, at first I was like "Nah...", but then after the first song was over I was pretty into it! I couldn't understand some of it cause of the heavy, heavy accent, but who says you need to understand music? It's music! =P
I loved that that Egypt Central song as well!
(Would you say Alt-J is an alt-indie style? At least that's how the two songs I heard sounded.)
~
@Shotjeer- Listened to those songs, I liked them....just not the vid for Phoenix...O_O
And I don't ever get squeamish!
As a man of culture, I listen to: James Horner, John Williams, Mozart, Bach, and Copland.
Ah I can definitely appreciate the composers stated. Where would we be without the great artists of centuries past? I remember when I was a wee lad, and doing school with Mozart, Bach, Handel, Wagner, etc. playing in the background. =P
I actually listen to a lot of music from different games (Including SK). Sometimes I'll listen to real songs if they're good (OPPA GANGNAM STYLE!), and sometimes I like to feel all soft inside with calming music.
@Xtweeterx what is a "real song"?
i wrote a mini-review of deerhunter's new album "monomania" but i accidentally closed to tab before i posted. just know it was disappointing. not as good as halcyon digest, but it is an entirely different album that goes in a different direction that it.
i also listened to godspeed you! black emperor's "lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven" which is like post-rock/instrumental rock. i've only listened to it once so my opinion is kinda immature but. it's a really cinematic, really emotional album. made me feel feels like longing and desire and optimism and a lot of other emotions i can't name at the moment. ;-; i think classical music fans would like it.
here's a track off that album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eZ_TgE3x_A
@Sr- Ah, I've heard some stuff by "Godspeed You! Black Emperor" (long name...) before. They're pretty good! Also, by "real songs" I believe Tweeter meant anything that isn't game-music.
~
I'm going to post links to the two Fall Out Boy songs Shotjeer mentioned. (People would rather just click one than have to find the song themselves! =P)

Well, I've been enjoying some lovely Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker soundtracks. A very nice orchestrated version right there. Also, awesome boss music...
I have a strong urge to play through it again for some reason.
@Kamen- I wasn't expecting a person to actually sing in that last link you posted! I guess surprises are nice!
~
@Weedy- Why does Zelda music have to be so good??? *slowly melts with a rapt expression on face*
@immortous- she did a couple skyrim bard songs really nicely done i saw her first post on machinima and thought it was really good, and u can add to the game via mods off nexus and steam.
she did a collab with miracle of sound from the escapist website: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FLQ4rACE-0&list=PLp1vQBAAS7NZhGQfxsMvGgj...

@Kamen- Yeah I'm not a big gamer or anything. =P Skyrim is pretty foreign to me.
I did play it once, and I managed to kill a dragon! I don't know if that's good though.
~
Back to the subject at hand!
Has anyone heard 30stm's new stuff? "Up In The Air" has been growing on me.
I've also been listening to a couple Blink-182 songs lately.
Adam's Song
All The Small Things
I Miss You
and I'm too lazy too go back and look so please forgive me if I've already posted any of these.
Sans Parade is a wonderful Swedish Band. Check out Sans Parade, a more popular song and The End of the World 1964 then go get lost in A Ballet in the Sea. I think there's a lot more to come from this band in the future.
Young Dreams is another Swedish Band I think we're going to be hearing from. If you've ever listened to Peter, Bjorn, and John you may find a similar sound in the song Fog of War.
Blind Architect is another sweet Swedish band. They rock on Lebanon.
Why did I become lazy and not post in here? Idk Anyways , I too, have been getting into some Blink -182.I also have been listening to the new album of 30 second to mars. Here's the link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DivNDDWjnlc&list=FL4zVByw06fM7z_WAD5dOEi...
Recently, since I have discovered that my mom's car can show the name of the song, and the artist. Every since then,I have put the songs in my phone.I might post the list someday. And here's a video just for the lulz
@Iam- No worries! You've never mentioned them before. That's alot of Swedish music! I promise I'll to them soon, but this is my busy week. =3
~
@Hero- Well, the link you posted took me to Fall Out Boy's "The Phoenix". I like their album too though!
Swedish alt. rock is where all alt starts and ends. They have some of the coolest music festivals too. It makes me wish I could spend the summer hiking around the Netherlands traveling from festival to festival, stopping at local cafes along the way.
Then I'd be on the 5 o'clock news, the 6 o'clock and again at 11 because I didn't come home...never to be seen again...just vanished off the face of the planet in front of thousands...
/snaps fingers and vanishes into the music
I confused 30stm with fallout boy, that explains the mix up.I have nothing else to say,so here's a link!

@Iam- That does sound nice! If only I spoke that language, I'd totally become a wandering-whatever.
~
More people, come over here!
I would do it not speaking the language and hope I can run into enough English speaking rockers to survive. :P
There are universal signs for eat, drink, sleep and pee that most people understand. xD
Do we have any Queen fans around? How about some Led Zeppelin? Guns N'Roses? AC/DC? Aerosmith?
I've gone through another classic rock phase recently. Gotta love me some indie though too!
I got to see Of Monsters and Men a couple weeks ago during their first tour in the States! Well, maybe just the southern half of the States that is.
But still, they were amazing! Go check them out if you haven't heard of them for some reason.
Speaking of indie/alternative bands that have become nation-wide sensations (Like Mumford and Sons, OMAM, the Lumineers, etc.), here's a band that's releasing their debut album, "Dark Eyes", in the States this July! They're sure to turn some heads, though they already have established a rather successful fan-base through just a bit of touring alone!
They were the opening band for the OMAM concert, and they're really good. I suggest listening to "Full Circle", and then go from there.
~
@Iam- Alt-J has some really creepy music videos, huh? I'm not sure what about them makes them so, but they're rather unsettling. Would you agree?
I couldn't give an opinion. I hate Alt-J so much, I couldn't watch the videos. I'd run screaming, hide my head under a pillow or turn on the Lumineers at decibels high enough to drown Alt-J from my ears.
Queen is a good band that I like to listen to. As well as Gun N'Roses, AC/DC, and Aerosmith. Gotta love the classics. Also, I have been listening to this song as it puts me in a happy mood, and it's catchy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTes4cTTjI4
That list that I mentioned will be posted eventfully. Just as long as I'm not in the lazy mood =p
@Iam-
Haha if you hated them so much, why'd you bring them to the discussion in the first place? But I guess I can stop putting up the facade of semi-acceptance to Alt-J then. Cause I can't really listen to them either....=P
Go check out HMR though!
~
@Hero-
Yeah, I think the thread needs periods where we all stop for awhile to take time to store up music to share with everyone. At least that's how it worked this time.
But of course, gotta love the classics! I just bought a greatest hits GNR cd (Yes I actually enjoy using cd's still. Records are even better!), and AC/DC is my "pump up" music.
The song you posted is pretty catchy. It definitely puts you in a good mood! Kinda like Queen's "Somebody to Love" does.
HMR?
Do you like punk, new or old?
Half Moon Run, that is.
Do I like punk? I'm unfamiliar with "old" punk, but yeah, I do listen to/like some punk. Yourself?
Do I listen to punk!?!
/giggles
Many of the Alt bands mentioned in this thread are actually punk like Rise Against.
The Misfits music is excellent despite their cheesy stage and video antics.

@Iam- Oh I knew Rise Against was punk. So is Green Day. MCR has some punk influences as well! MCR was actually greatly influenced by the Misfits too.
So yeah, I listen to punk!
P.S. (Slipknot is Hardcore I believe, rather than Punk. :P)
Have you seen this Slipknot related spoof?
~
@Artist- I've listened to some of Incubus' stuff before. But I'm unfamiliar with Tokyo Police Club. What genre would you place them in?
Er, Electronic Alternative. They're definitely different.
Christmas bump time!
I didn't see this up, so of it is, I apologize.
Here is my favorite Christmas song: August Burns Red's version of Carol of the Bells.
Is it odd that's my favourite song is the Skyrim theme?
