Hey another idea from me! how about underwater levels?

-your movement speed is slowed down because of the water
-have a bubble or diving suit on, (i prefer a bubble of some sort)
-swords are slowed down slightly
-some bombs cannot be used (fire/electric)>>cannot be detonated
-new monsters! >endless possibilities
-guns are normal speed
-Underwater bosses! Giant robot squid! Release the kracken....
-you cannot run (underwater ofc)!
-New accesories! that look awesome in underwater levels>>flippers!>>suits!
-New weapons that can be used for underwater levels>> Mecha-Trident>>spear that does 2x damage underwater>>charge shot is you throwing the spear and coming back to you! In a straight line! awesome huh! piercing/elemental weapon
-fire armor/shields cannot be lit!
-bubbles! seaweed everywhere!
-can be part of the current mission series or a selection of new levels entirely

I'm fairly sure this has been

I'm fairly sure this has been suggested already, but I'll leave linking to existing threads to someone who knows what they're doing (the search seems really sluggish for me).

The decrease in speed sounds tedious and so does the restriction on status equipment usage. Also, there's not much underwater levels can offer that cannot be implemented in non-water levels unless you go for some really radical changes in gameplay.

It's too restrictive.
I mean, would you like it if your whole set is useless and the game forces you to craft a trident? :P

Something tells me that if this gets implemented right now, you'd be one of the first ones to hate it.
Like visualize what you wrote.

From my broom closet hitting Ctrl+F for "water" I found these two, then in my bookmarks two more.

This is my favorite version. Somewhere in that is a thing about an underwater level, too.

The main (and only) reason

The main (and only) reason why underwater levels should exist are aesthetic purposes. I love thumping around in bioshock.

But anyway, I don't see anything like this happening anytime soon. Cradle would need to have a giant water tank being churned around somewhere in it so unless when the core is filled with some liquid I don't think this will happen very soon.
