Greetings fellow roleplayers,

This is the main story thread for the roleplay Finder's Keepers. First off, I ask that only story additions go in this thread. All discussions, comments, questions, and anything otherwise out-of-character do not belong in this thread, but in the discussion thread. Thanks for your cooperation!

Now for a few ground rules. There should be no power-playing or god-moding, no swearing or anything Spiral Knights normally filters, no "explicit" content, and no overpowered characters. These problems should be ironed out in the discussion thread before you post your story addition, so that what is posted to the story is fair and fun.

Characters may not start with any equipment higher than 3*. The lower the star level of your character's equipments, the better. In most games, 5* gear is treated like it's commonplace (and it is), but I'd like to treat it like something special. It should be a major event when your character acquires a better equipment.

Now, that said, have fun!

The discussion thread is here.
The original story thread is here. Some of the original story is written here, so you may want to review it if you wish to start the story from the beginning.

The Tale Begins!

Vaelyntine looked behind her. The hunters had to be close. She lept off the edge of the rooftop and rolled to a stop at the base of the roof. The hunters reached the other edge of the roof, shouted to each other and pointed at her. She had been seen! She scrambled up and raced to the next roof, with the hunters in hot pursuit. She lept onto another one and almost lost her balance, but recovered and kept going. That stumble had lost her precious time and distance. They were getting closer; one of them had even begun firing his alchemer. She ducked under a fiery bolt and jumped over the ricochet. She came to the edge of the building, and found to her dismay that the ground was a long way down. With the hunters closing in on her, she had very little choice.

She closed her eyes and jumped.
______

A tall young lady stepped off the motor horse (that's the equivalent of a motorcycle). She had long, straight, gleaming silver hair, and wore a black, loose-fitting dress that hung off her shoulders seductively. Ten Almirian knights surrounded her, demanding her surrender. She unfurled her vast wings and shot into the air, and came back down upon a hapless knight. She stabbed him in the neck and lept off of him to tackle another knight to the ground. The others were now firing at her recklessly, but she ignored them. She extended the claws in her hands, gripped the knight's skull and crushed it. She picked him up and used him as a meat shield before she threw him at his comrades. While they were down and wretching at the sight of their comrade's leaking brains, she brought her heel down upon another knight's face and caved it in. She spun and clawed out another knight's right eye and kicked him in the knees, putting him out of the fight.

The others were now sickened and enraged. They drew their brandishes and charged at her, shouting battle cries. She decided to follow suit, and let out a piercing shriek that made them cover their ears. She charged at them, clawed out a knight's throat, kicked another one in the groin, and scalped the other. She extended her tail and stabbed the three of them, and noticed the remaining four knights running away. She chuckled and shot a spray of barbs at them, impaling them and killing them instantly.

She then heard a groan coming from the knight whose eye she had clawed out. He was laying on the ground, nursing his bloodied and shredded eye. She walked up to him, knelt beside him, and gently lifted his chin with a claw. The knight weakly cried out, "Mercy! Please!" The lady let go of his chin and tilted her head. "Mercy, you ask? Why would you want mercy?" The knight simply wept, "I don't want to die! Please!" She just laughed. "You know what? I've taken a fancy to you. I won't kill you." The knight was skeptical, but breathed a sigh of relief. She continued, "I want you to go tell your little Almirian friends what a wonderful person I was for sparing your life. You can do that for me, right? The knight nodded wordlessly. She then leaned in close to his face. "Because if you don't, I may have to hunt your down again." She brushed her lips against his, but didn't kiss him. Instead, she stood up and walked away.

Now cold and lonely, the knight limped his way back to the capital city to tell his superiors about the massacre of his comrades and the unusual mercy of the Finder.
______

The Finder sighed, brushed back her hair, and entered through the open doorway. The guards marched outside and closed the doors. The Master rotated his throne to face the lady. "Good, I see you have received my telepathic call. Have you caught the exiled channelers?" The Finder looked down at her feet. "I...I...have not, my lord." The Master frowned. "Look me in the eyes." She looked into his eyes, and saw only coldness and anger. He continued. "Do you...know what happens when you fail?" Her knees began to quake, and she collaped on them and folded her hands. "Please...please my lord! Have mercy!" But he did not. He raised his arm, and she was forcibly transformed into the monster.

He brandished his whip. The monster whimpered, then gurgled and wept as it curled into a frightened fetal ball.

Soon, the hall was filled with the sounds of a cracking whip and the hideous screams of a hopeless, monstrous soul.

Chapter 2: Ladies and Gents, Introducing... The Sadist!

Zero

A shot rang out in the dead of night. I heard the faint thud as the Channeler dropped lifelessly to the tile floor and smirked. Ah, yes, forty four consecutive head-shot kills. A new record. I walked over to the dead body and extracted a blood sample. Scanning it through my visor, i found the name of my victim; Rika Masamoto. I scanned the Morai's extensive library and list of channelers and marked Rika as "exterminated". After i was done, i glared down at the dead corpse and tossed it carelessly into a garbage can. I heard the voices of my "colleagues" and fellow Hunters. Trailing behind them, i took out a lollipop Ooh, Wolver Jerky flavor. Lucky me and put it in my mouth, chewing on the end as one would chew on a pack of gum. I heard Syphon bellow "AFTER THEM!" and smiled as i saw two dark figures in the air ducts above me. Finally, I would (hopefully) get the first real exercise I'd had in over a month. I casually twirled my Nightblade around and spit the lollipop out of my mouth, crushing it underfoot. Then i cracked my knuckles and gave chase, right behind my fellow Hunters. I almost laughed as one of them was fried instantly by a bolt of shadow energy. What a dolt. While the other Hunters attached rapells in their attempt to reach the ground, I did the simple thing. At least, simple for me. I jumped off the side of the bulding and ran down -yes, down as in vertically down- the walls, kicking off right before i hit the ground. I rolled and quickly regained my footing, then began running after the Channelers once more.

As I liked to say, The Hunt had begun.
_______________

I growled in annoyance at the escape of the Channelers. Syphon muttered to himself, obviously saying something I wouldn't repeat to small children. He looked cautiously at the Finder, asking, "Master, why did you see fit to intervene?" The Fallen Valkyrie responded, "Simple, the girl, she's a high interest target for the Imperium, so you'll do well not to fail next time." his shadowy master growled. She threw a file at him, "Her name is Vaelyntine, remember it, study her file, learn the ins and outs." Syphon saluted pathetically and the Finder nodded, then dematerialized into pure shadow.

Enraged, Syphon shouted, "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?!" at one of my squadmates and grabbed him. I smirked; this wasn't an uncommon thing for him to do. Yet another temper tantrum. How could you have lost three channelers, that easily?" The poor fool knew he was doomed and stammered, 'Well sir...we...uh were caught off guard, the two that were awake were very proficient with their powers...." But was cut off.

"Not good enough." Syphon growled. I watched nonchalantly as his palms glowed a midnight black, and the Hunter's life force was sucked into Syphon's being. When the black smoke cleared, there was nothing but armor, a sword, and ash. "If you don't want to end up my next meal I suggest the remainder of you go and find those channelers!" Syphon barked. I scowled. Idiotic twit. The other Hunters saluted an ran back to the base we had established nearby. I sighed. So much for getting exercise.

The trek back to base was long and cold.
________________

I scowled at the firing range. I had been aiming for the dummy's eyes, but got him in the neck. It was probably the worst shot I had fired in over a year. I turned on my com unit and searched through the radio stations for my favorite song- and pouted when "Rabies" by Justin Greaver started playing. I sighed, thinking of how easily the Channelers had slipped through my grasp. I nearly caught one in the head, but missed. I frowned; my killstreak was ruined.

Suddenly, a signal picked up on my com unit, interrupting my thoughts. "Zero, are you there?" it asked. I snarled. Oh great. Him again. I picked up the call and responded with a hiss, "Yes. What do you want, Enforcer Tyrell?"

"Hey. No need to be snappy, Zero. I actually think you'll smile when you hear this." The Enforcer replied. He seemed quite excited, and I didn't like it.
"Is that so?" I inquired. Tyrell said in an excited voice, "We've found a Channeler GOLD MINE." My eyes widened at the prospect, and i listened closer. "Yeah. That caught your attention, didn't it? Well anyway, we can't risk bringing the entire group of forty Morai, you'll end up being spotted right away."

I laughed. Apparently, Tyrell didn't know about Syphon's little... Anger problems. I cut him off, "Syphon's already taken care of that." I heard Tyrell start to say something, but he finally realized what Syphon had done. I casually inserted a new magazine into my Antigua and said to Tyrell, "Don't worry, I've got this." I smirked and announced to the group that we were going to Almire. And once we got there, blood would wet the steps of Vanaduke's kingdom. I smiled a sadistic grin, licking my lips and savoring the feeling of ripping through flesh.

The Hunt was back on.
______________

I slipped out of the base, careful not to attract attention. Running off the walls easily, i hot the ground hard. I dusted the mud off of my pants and switched my com unit on. I grinned as one of my favorite rock songs came on, then began my trek to Almire. Besides, who says you can't have fun while you're on your way to murder countless innocent people?
-----

I scowled. It had been hours, yet my com unit's INS -Interplanetary Navigationary System- told me I was only halfway to Almire. Suddenly, a familiar crackle of leaves caught my attention. Being a born hunter, I was very wary and attuned to any and all u usual noises. I whirled around and glared at the six recons from my team. A growl escaped from my throat, "Why the hell are YOU guys here?" The Hunters shuffled nervously, suddenly very interested in their Recon modules. I hissed, "WELL? Tell me!" All of the Recons backed away, except for one. He glanced around, beads of sweat trickling down his forehead. He stuttered, "Um... Zero, sir, we're here on Syphon's orders. We were supposed to come and assist you." I wasn't fooled.

Adopting a tone that most people only use with small children, i said, "Oh, yes, suuuure. I'm quite sure that when people are sent to assist a fellow soldier, they are ordered to tail them, maintaining a stalking distance. Yes, now THAT is standard protocol." The Recon gulped and responded, "Sorry, sir... We're just supposed to help you kill the Channelers." I was about to nod my forgiveness when it hit me. I growled, "How the heck did you know I was heading towards a Channeler camp?" The Hunter shuffled nervously again and reached for his hip holster. Buffoon.

Before the Recon's fingertips even got there, I had blasted a hole in his skull with my Antigua. I growled, "Idiots" and rushed towards another Recon. I smashed my fist into his stomach and felt his ribs break, then kicked his legs out from under him and drove a knife into his skull. Backing away, i tossed a Semtex at one of them and watched as it took out three more Hunters. As i turned to the last Recon, I inquired, "Now tell me. Why did Syphon REALLY send you here?" My Nightblade hovered right in front of his neck and he sputtered, "We were supposed to tail you to the Channeler 'gold mine', inform Syphon of its location, then capture you and bring you to him so he could... Punish you." I knew exactly what he meant; countless Channelers and Hunters had already been drained of their life force by Syphon. I shook my head and said, "And that worked out so well, didn't it?" I lifted my blade, and the poor Recon's eyes widened in fear. "Please... No, no no n-" he was cut off. Literally.

I sighed and cracked my knuckles. Then i picked up my weapons and continued walking towards Almire, and thus towards the Channelers. I laughed.

I could already hear their horrified screams.

The story so far (Amarynth)

((Just a note to anyone reading: this is what's happened so far))

"When, oh when will it come out~
In the night of-"

I was in the middle of singing softly to myself and gazing up at the sky when a voice cried out.
"Hey! Channeler! Seize her!", a voice cried out. I peeked over the edge of the garden where I was, and saw a flurry of government agents run up the path to the entrance, guns pointed at me.
"Hm? What do you want?", I ask shyly, silently loading my Toxic Needle behind my back, just in case.
"The government has issued an order that all Channelers must be eradicated as soon as possible. Please come with us", one of the Knights said in a business-like manner. I start giggling, confused expressions coming on their faces. Standing up, I flick my wrist upwards. A myriad of icicles pierces their chests, alerting other Hunters of my presence.
"Uh oh, looks like I made a mess", I say innocently, beginning to run. I jump off the ledge of the garden, hitting the ground running. The Hunters start shooting at me. A couple of them make contact, causing me to grab my side. I whip my Toxic Needle out, spraying a flurry of syringes at them. Two fall, but one's still chasing me.
"Catch me if you can!" I call out happily, sending another icicle hurtling towards his chest and killing him. More Hunters seem to come out of nowhere, shooting at me. A few more shots make contact, and one hits my leg, causing me to trip and skid on the ground. I struggle to get up, but a heavy boot comes down on my head, and my arms are pinned down.

"Not so fast, you sadistic little creep", the Hunter sneers.
"Heyyy, that hurts!", I whine a little. It did hurt though.
"Come on, you brat. Let's get you to the executi-", he starts saying, but stops when I turn my palm towards him and lodge an icicle into his head. The other Hunters take their boots off of me in surprise, giving me the chance to get my Striker out and slash at them. I down a couple, healing my injury, and sprinting towards the West entrance. I shoot the guards stationed at the gate, and dash through, making it out on the open prairie. I glance back, and it seems nobody's chasing me anymore.
Sighing in relief, I start walking through the endless fields, when I spot the tiny silhouettes of other people in the distance.
"Who could they be? Friends?", I ask myself innocently. I start walking in their direction in an attempt to see if they are friendly. I'm a little feverish from all the fighting back there, but I make my way towards them as best as possible, taking my hood off and stuffing it in my pocket.

The wind feels nice in my hair.

I put the back of my hand on to my forehead, seeing if I had Overheated. My skin was blazing hot. I start feeling a little tired... but I have to catch up with those people, I want them to be my friends...

I rummage around inside of my bag, but I can't find anything other than a bottle of expired medicine and a chunk of bread, the latter of which I eat to try to help the hunger pains I also had.

"Hey! Wait up!", I call out to the figures in the distance. I run a little faster, and I seem to get closer with each step. Within five minutes, my fever intensifies. I fall on the ground, panting and trying to catch my breath. It feels twenty times hotter than the summer night that it is. I knew I shouldn't have used my Channeling so much.

Raising my shaking hand towards the sky, I put my first and index finger together, creating a flare of white light with the last of my strength, which stays in the sky, and sends a shockwave throughout the area. I fall back down under the wildflowers and grasses, the Overheat getting to a point where I find my eyes being unable to stay open. My body relaxes as I drift off into a feverish sleep, breathing heavily.

I hope somebody can find me.
_____________

"Is she dead?" I could hear a Hunter talking right above me. I kept my eyes shut, intending on playing dead as long as possible. As I woke up, I could tell that my fever had subsided, and I was fine, except for what felt like a small headache.
"Check her temperature. If she's not cold as ice, I'll come over and take care of that", a surly voice said, presumably a Squad Captain.
"Yes, sir." I can feel his presence over me as he bends down, reaching for my wrist.

Now.

My eyes snap open and I jump up, punching the Hunter square in the jaw. He falls down on the ground, and I duck from the subsequent spray of bullets from the Hunters' guns.
"Make sure she's killed!", the Captain roared. "No mistakes!"

I can hear them moving towards me, and I take out my Striker. Holding it sideways, I jump up and dart to the squad's back, slashing at a few and taking them out of commission for good. I charge up an icicle in my free hand, splitting it and impaling the other two. The Captain faces me, firing a flurry of bullets from his Valiance. I manage to dodge most of them, but one grazes my face, stinging a little. He tries to fire, but he looks at his gun in disbelief as it makes a clicking sound.
"Tsk tsk, bad little children never go unpunished", I say, grinning. I rush towards him, Striker poised. He shrieks, and my knife plunges straight into his stomach. I pull it out, and lick off the blood, my sadistic side relishing the taste.

Suddenly, I hear a coughing noise from my left. I quickly glance over, and I see another Hunter standing in front of a blonde-haired girl in an Angelic Raiment, frozen in disbelief. His hands curl into fists as he yells at me.
"How dare you kill my Captain, you filthy Channeler!" He raises his gun and shoots at me, the bullet miraculously missing by a long shot, to my relief.
"Don't worry, you'll see him soon", I mutter, flicking an icicle straight into his head. He falls over, blood pouring out of the hole in his face.

I quickly run over to the girl, my normal, childish side coming back.
"Hey, hey! Are you alright, friend?", I ask, reaching my hand out. I help her up, and she nods.
"Great~! My name is Amarynth, who might you be?"

"My name is Iris, and I'm glad to make friends with you Amarynth!", she answered. She seemed pretty friendly.
"Follow me, I know a safe pla-" We both stiffened as we heard a movement, and I crouched behind Iris as she held her Flourish in a defensive position. Suddenly, a Gremlin uncloaked. A gremlin. Something inside my head made me really... scared? I don't know. I've never known or even fought a Gremlin, I just read about them in books, which said they were friendly. So why was I scared? Maybe it was something in my childhood. The childhood I can't remember? It can't be...

"Tell me, do you know anyone by the name of Auger?", Iris asked the Gremlin eventually. I couldn't hear the rest, as I was distracted by something else to my left.

I look over in that direction, and see a Knight collapsed on the ground. I rush over to him while Iris and the gremlin are speaking and check him. He's feverish, and seems to be muttering. I put a small layer of ice on his head to cool him off and send a small energy pulse throughout his body to try to wake him up. It seems to work. He moans a little, and opens his eyes.

"Hey, hey, what happened? Are you alright? Can you stand?", I ask him repeatedly, shaking him a little. I hear a shout from behind me.
"Top! Topozayada!" Looking behind me, I see a girl very similar to Iris, but with a Violet Rose Chapeau and Valkyrie Wings, and young girl in shabby-looking close and dark hair.
"I-is he alright?!", the younger girl says, crouching down next to the Knight.
"Yeah, I'm fine...", he says, wincing a little as he gets up. Thank goodness.
"You know, you shouldn't charge into battle without a little backup. Right, Raechal?", the girl with the Chapeau said.
"I agree, sometimes you're so reckless", the girl, presumably named Raechal said, looking down at him.
"Hi hi! I'm Amarynth, who are you guys?", I ask them. I remember what Iris said about the safe place again. "One of my new friends over there said she knows a safe place for us." I point over to her, and the Knight I found, named Topoyazada, nodded and started walking over. I follow them shortly after.
"Hey hey, I found some more friends, Iris!", I yell to her.

Equinox

(Equinox)

I walk down the streets, listening to the people scream at me and spit in my direction. "Channeler!" they scream. I keep my hat down as I keep walking, heading in the direction of the Forest. "Halt! Who are you?" a hunter leader stands before me, pointing his sword to my chest. I pull out my Fancy Pipe and inhale some steam before I blow it in his face as I reply, "I am Equinox, the Channeler." the smoke suddenly let's loose an electric bolt from my mouth, and I walk past the hunter as he stutters. "Seize him." he stutters, and falls to the floor.

I keep walking as hunters run out from the allies, waving their swords about. I let loose a gleam from my eye towards the hunters, and wave my hand to throw up Mist from the ground. They look around, unable to see me as I run away, my Snipes cawing after the hunters like laughter.

I run over the bridge and come to the guards at the gate. I raise both hands and let them freeze before I hobble into the Forest, heading in the direction of home. I am starving as I grab my stomach in agony. The Wolvers eye me like I could be their next meal. I glare at them viciously, and they cower. I throw a Freeze Sigil at them, and they are frozen as I stab one with my Striker. I will have to get rid of the weapon, but I can always get another. I stab a second, and decide that two will be enough. I toss my weapon as far as I can, and am surprise when the wind pick up and it stabs itself into the bridge beyond the gate. I sling the two Wolvers over my back, and head deeper. Home is close.
----------------------------------------------------
2nd
I walk down the path, getting closer to a bridge. I reach the bridge of white roots and adjust the Wolvers on my shoulder as I stare forward at about a half acre of a pure white forest. The Forest of the Dead. The Imperium and Keepers all hold this land as sacred ground. So naturally, no one comes here. The plants are filled with horrible reminders of the War. Every living thing here thrives on not water, but blood, which fills the soil underneath. I walk for a bit until I come to a large stone. If anyone looked close enough, they would see the holes near the bottom of the boulder.

I weakly push it up and walk into the entrance to my humble home. Wood is strapped to the walls by white roots that happened to be there when I dug this place up. A small hole sits at the left of the room. My bed. And at the middle of the room an unlit campfire sits in wait. My kitchen. I light the wood with Fire Sigils as I let the boulder fall and cover the hole. I skin the Wolver with a sharp rock I have near the fire and cook.....................................................................

I step outside with a strip of Wolver meat in my fist as I finish off the food. Leaves fall from the trees in a peaceful manner as I climb atop the boulder and cross my legs to meditate. I pull energy from the ground and into myself for later use.

I send out a weak energy pulse, and find a person near this location. A hunter maybe? No, they wouldn't journey this far. I can only assume it's a person in need of help. I jump off the stone and summon a Stun Sigil under my feet, which propels me into the air. I summon another Stun Sigil behind me and push my feet off of it, flying forwards with the extra boost. I land and walk, lighting my pipe along the way. I see a girl and a Finder, looking at each other fiercely. I stand behind a tree as I ready my pipe with a red glow. I walk into the clearing.

"What seems to be going on here?" I chastise, crossing my arms and tipping my pipe in the Finder's direction. "You have permission to be here? This is near a sacred place, ma'am...." I walk quickly over and blow on my pipe extremely hard, fire erupting from it's tip and getting in the lady's face. She claws at her face as I grab the hand of the girl and drag and run with her, away from the wicked woman. "My name is Equinox," I say behind me. "What's yours?"
----------------------------------------------------
3rd
I pull the girl across the bridge of roots and into the Forest of the Dead. I lead her to the boulder and lift it up, ushering her in, "Stay in there in case the creature gives chase." I lay the boulder back down over the tunnel. I climb atop it, and stretch out my palms, pulling energy back into myself to be prepared. The petals fall calmly from the trees and sunlight streams through the leaves and flowers from the treetops. It would all be beautiful if not for the constant reminder these plants thrive on death.

I gasp in surprise as I see the petals form into a Valkrie-like figure.

"Hello, madame. What brings you to my humble home." I bow slightly, showing my respect. "I have come to warn you. In three days time a group of impure beings will enter this place. They know of your location. Go to Almire, and find Sanctuary there. Once you get there tell Lord Vanaduke this for me; Eden is returning. Once you tell him those words, stay in Almire until I inform you otherwise. Take the girl with you. She will also need protection. I need you to tell Lord Vanaduke another thing; The Nether Realm has opened. Good Luck Equinox." She turns her head to the skies, and the petals fall from her to the ground.

I stand there in silence before I come to my senses and lift up the boulder and walk inside. "I hate to tell you this, but we are going to have to leave soon. I will cook you some dinner." I move over to the fire, and at the center a Shadow Steel plate sits with hunks of Wolver meat on it.

"It's almost ready," I smile. "You and I are heading to Almire. Unless, of course, you seek sanctuary here. But there are people heading towards here, and it's no longer safe."
----------------------------------------------------
4th
I sling the travel bag onto my shoulder, and walk down the path. Why would I be so foolish? I kick a white stone, it hitting a tree enough to scrape it, showing the red beneath the tree. The cut almost instantly heals. I keep walking, exiting the Forest of the Dead, and entering the common Forest to see a troop of hunters in front of me. I sigh. "Hello, what might you be heading off to?" I ask politely.

He raises his Valiance. "Shut up and come with us to Dread Imperium, or suffer eternity"
----------------------------------------------------
5th
"Don't try and threaten me. Ever." darkness wraps around me, my eyes and grinning mouth the only light escaping. I raise my hands up, and spread my palms outward. A Curse flows outward and takes all the hunters by surprise. I jump into a tree as a Mist releases from the ground, and I cackle and throw my voice in directions as they swing their weapons blindly. The magenta fire explodes from them and destroys them, and I watch the last one crumple to the ground. I feel the darkness leave my body, and feel slightly feverish.

I drop down and continue walking, keeping my hat down. I rub thoughtfully on my arm, feeling the energy-symbol branded into my arm when the Strangers Exiled me. I walk along and see some people gathering over a feverish Channeler. I duck behind a tree. Peeking a little, I see five characters. Leaves fall behind them, as they remain completely unaware of the phenomenon, and form the Valkyrie I saw earlier. She giggles, and points to them to show she approves if I arrange with them a pact. She dissipates, and I am left with a choice...

I think I will observe them a little longer. I climb up into the tree, and peer down.
----------------------------------------------------
6th
I see the group start to run away. My Snipes wings spread on either side of me like wings, and I glide from tree to tree silently, following the group to Almire. Any other pursuers I shot down with a quick Shock Sigil without a second glance. I snuff out any light that could possibly reveal my form, and let myself be absorbed by darkness,

I'd never forget that day. The beautiful light I saw....

I ready five icicles levitating over eacg of my hands in case another pursuer tries to follow them....
----------------------------------------------------
7th
Since things are moving slow, I think I'll try to make things more interesting. I fly down in front of the group, my Snipes' wings tucking in. I turn my head slightly and grin wildly, a person inside awakening. I blow on my Fancy Pipe, adding some energy to it, and create a fog of Mist all around. I fly into a tree and into the shadows, willing them to cover me.

I watch their momentary confusion, and a dark being wills for control over me, seeking blood. I hold it back with my will, clutching to a branch. I feel myself slip from strain, and I land on the group, fainting before I hit it.

You shall not see that Sanctuary again in your dreams, I'll make sure of that. No light shall pierce your mind. You are mine, don't forget that!

*Third-Person Mode*
Equinox gets off the ground unaturally, like a rag doll. Darkness absorbs him, turning him into a silhouette, excepting his bright white eyes and grin. A sword made of the same darkness appears as a cackle escapes through his clenched teeth.

"Blood, blood, blood. Need. Blood." it runs wickedly and wobbily towards the group, who can't see him as anything but a blur, and at the last second flies over them and attacks three Recon hunters before they see it happen. His sword seems to absorb the blood before Equinox falls to the ground, his sword disappearing, and turning to himself again, unconcious.
----------------------------------------------------
8th
When I get up off the ground, the group is 500 meters away and counting. I am alarmed, and my Snipes' wings instantly unfold, and I fly into the air after the group. This is getting ridiculous. Don't they know about the traps set around Almire? I spot a chasm-like hole, covered with leaves. Oh damn...they are probably going to fall in before I can get over there.

"AFTER THEM!" I hated it when my men failed to capture any channelers. It was so annoying being this close fresh energy, and having it slip through your grasp. The hunters closed in on the three refugees positions. My men were being blasted down by bolts of energy one almost scraped me, but not before I activated my powers, and instantly absorbed it. I grinned at the boost in stamina I suddenly had. I rushed forward but not before s shadow suddenly appeared. I stepped back in shock. The finder was not one to intervene in a normal hunt. The winged shadow looked up and shot out energy bursts, in rapid fire. The channelers immediately dived into the near by river. I growled in frustration, another meal, down the drain. Literally. I looked up. The winged overlord grimaced, from what I had heard, even The Finder had higher ups pulling her strings. I grinned at least I wasn't the only one being toyed with. "Master, why did you see fit to intervene?"

The Fallen Valkyrie responded, "Simple, the girl, she's a high interest target for the Imperium, so you'll do well not to fail next time." his shadowy master growled. She threw a file at him, "Her name is Vaelyntine, remember it, study her file, learn the ins and outs." I saluted and like that she disappeared. I looked back and grabbed hold of the nearest hunter. "What the heck was that?" I asked. The idiot stammered then said "Well sir the channelers were really proficient with their powers..." I pushed him up against the wall, "Not good enough." I growled. I started the draining process I could feel energy feed into my palms, which then turned my hands midnight black, and off of the hunter came a silvery mist, I was eating his powers alive. After I was done there was nothing but his armor and armaments. I saw Zero smirk in the background. The idiot was too full of himself, he'd make a fatal mistake sometime. "If you don't want to end up my next meal I suggest the remainder of you go and find those channelers!" I barked. And like that the rest of the squad went back to base, it was cold and harsh the way I liked these kind of days.
------------------------------------------
I smiled as I heard something crackle to life on the com units. It was Zero sneaking behind my back to go intercept a group of channelers, I recognized the location as Almire. I grinned, I called in my elite recon group, "Tail Zero, under no circumstances are you to tell him about why I sent you, I just want you to keep an eye on him." I respected Zero for his keen skills and ruthlessness but his lack of authority annoyed me. I grinned he would learn soon enough. I set out to intercept Zero, I wanted in on the feast on energy too.

Well..... Time to do this thing.......

P.S I'll write in first person..... third person is just sooooo NOT me.

I moan, and open my eyes. "Hey, hey! What happened? Are you alright? Can you stand?" A girl asked. God, she was annoying. Someone shouts, "Top! Topoyozada!" I glance over her shoulder and found Raechal and Vaelyntine. "Is he alright?" asked my sister, kneeling beside me, already reaching for a health capsule. I push away her hand and say, "Yeah, I'm fine." I wince in pain as I get up. "You really shouldn't charge into battle without backup. right, Raechal?" Vaelyntine asked, looking at me sternly. "Yeah, what she said." Added Raechal, crossing her arms. "You could have died there!" "Yeah, and wouldn't that be a shame." I mutter so queitly, no one hears me. "Hi hi! I'm Amarynth, who are you guys?" I look at her. Good time to cut in, girly. "One of my friends over there said she knows a safe place for us." She points over to somewhere. I squint, and I see her. I nod at Amarynth, and I slowly limp over to her. Raechal walks over to my side and slide her hand into mine. I look back and the person called Amarynth follows us. "Hey hey, I found some more new friends, Iris!" She yells. We walk over to her, and she looks us over. I see Augur, and I nod slightly. He waves. Suddenly, I feel something bite into my arm. I pull it out with my free hand and squint at it. SLEEP DART. ENFORCER USE ONLY. SUBJECT WILL SLEEP IN 30 SECONDS OF INJECTION. Instantly, I feel woozy. "Run! Enforcer snipers are here!" I yell as loud as I can. I knees buckled, and I wasn't standing anymore. "Run....Leave me......" I mutter with the last of my strength, and a moment later, I closed me eyes.

Entry and notice

((Also, if you're reading this and don't understand what happened, go to the original story thread to read the first entries.))

I introduced Iris to the other people, and they started talking about various things, COMPLETELY ignoring me. Booooring. I eventually wandered off after standing around, thinking about cute and happy things to try to feel a little better from killing all those Hunters from earlier. I look at the Imperial City as I walk, looming in the distance. Its walls seem very foreboding now that we’re outside, but if Iris has a place where we can go, then I’m fine with that, as long as it has a garden I can play in.
Suddenly, my train of thought was broken as I tripped over something, not paying attention to where I was going.
“Owww...”, I moaned a little, rubbing my head from the fall. I look back at what I tripped over, and I gasp.
There was a red-haired girl laying on the ground, her coat covered in dirt. What was even more unusual was that she had wings like a raven’s. A valkyrie?
I hear some shouts, and I see Topoyazada fall to the ground. I look around frantically, and see some Snipers in a tree. Bad. I needed to get this girl awake and moving.
“Hey, wake up.” I shook her a little. She didn’t seem to move. I could tell she was breathing, so I shook her a little more.
“Come on, wake up please...”, I say, pleading a little.
Well, no choice but to carry her. I summon a little strength, and sling her on to my shoulders with some difficulty, using a little Channeling energy to support her weight. I form a diamond shape with my hands, and aim for the trees, being careful to not use too much energy. A myraid of small, deadly icicles forms in the space, and I fire them in a spray towards the trees. I see a dark shape fall out, landing on the ground with a thud. Pushing the girl on to my back a little more, I bring out my Toxic Needle, running over to where the fallen Sniper lay. He’s sitting up, clutching his arm, and looks at me as I fire a spray of poison towards him. He falls back on the ground twitching, muscles paralyzed. I take out my Striker and stab him in the neck for good measure. I fire another array of icicles into another tree, two more falling out. Unloading a spray of syringes on them, I do the same, dispatching them with my sword. I set fire to the trees, forcing out a few other Enforcers. I also dispatch them with Toxic Needle and Striker, grabbing one of their rifles on the way. I spot several figures in the distance as I rush back to the rest of the group. There, I find Topoyazada collapsed on the ground, a dart next to him.
“Someone carry Topoyazada, we’re under attack by Enforcers if you already haven’t figured out. We need to go now or else we’ll find ourselves chopped up in an incinerator before you can say execution chamber”, I say grimly.
“Who ees da gerl?”, the Gremlin asks confusedly.
“I don’t know, I found her on the ground nearby”, I respond. “Iris, where was the safe place you mentioned?”
“I-it’s in Almire. Those bright lights are the city. I’ll tell you where to go once we’re inside the walls.”
The other girl, who’s name I later learned was Vaelyntine, picked up Topoyazada. We started running towards the bright city lights of Almire, trying to outrun the Enforcers.

It was a long way away, but I think we could make it.

Alrigthy-o!

Bumbumbumbubmbumbumbumbum...

Lyra felt the vibrations of movement course throughout her body. The soft, warm wind was blowing, which caused her conscious state of mind return.

The Fallen Valkyrie woke with a gasp, inhaling a mouthful of air, and found herself being carried away by someone. She twisted hard enough to roll out of the person's grasp, and then looked at the group.

Two women, one Gremlin, and a guy. All of them were clad in armor, wielding dangerous-looking weapons. Suddenly, one of them began to emit a purple aura around them, or at least, that's what she saw. The thought "channeler" entered her head, and the air itself seemed, pulled towards this woman. She herd shouts behind her, and turned around to find a group of Enforcers running towards the group. Lyra looked back at the group, and ran past them. The flames were building up, so she kicked off the ground, and lobbed a decent-sized fireball over her saviors' heads. When it hit the floor, there was going to be a huge firewall. A wave of extreme heat and cold coursed through her body, forcing her to land, hands clutching her parched throat.

"Run," she weakly cried out, and turned around to run again towards a group of lights. Was that Almire?

Equinox

8th
Let in the Light Equinox. It's just as mych as part of you as the darkness...
*Third Person Mode*
A light erupts from Equinox, turning him into an anti-silhouette, with black eyes and grin. A sword of light materializes from his hand, and he is suddenly running faster than a mortal ever could. His legs are wobbily from a weak controlling force, and he carries his weighted sword like a kite catching the wind.

He closes in on the running group, when shots erupt from the trees around them. He let's the bullets fall upon his skin like rain, and the group has to duck down, trying to make themselves smaller targets. Equinox catches up along with the group, and is jumping up and down, twirling with his blade to try and take the bullets while he can. He is slowky getting weaker...and weaker...

((sorry for my control guys, but you know what? SOMEONE has to get this moving, Vogdamnit D=
@Liminori You're terrible at keeping this thread clean you know that? XD))
9th

I fall from the sky and land next to a tall dark being, My eyes close as I go into a sleep from power failure...

Dark and Light veins spread out from underneath Equinox's body, and the ground under him starts to disintegrate....
10th
I hold my head as I wake up on a cavern floor. I look up to see a hole in the cavern ceiling. I wince and hold my head again, trying not to squeak. I hear the Hunters and the Finder up there. I pick up my fallen Pipe, and dust it off before putting it in my mouth. I sit down and take a deep, quiet breath, and meditate. Energy flows out of the ground and into me, and I find half of my supply replenished. I have to get into Almire. I turn the Pipe in my mouth upside-down, the hole facing the floor.

I let loose enough energy and blow. A heat explodes from my Pipe as the force shoves me off the ground and through the hole into the sky. I close my eyes as my Snipes' wingspans turn larger, as they carry me to the nearest fortress wall.

I see guard coming, but I turn and face the Hunters. frozen in place. I tip my Pipe back up, and hold out my hand. I suddenly feel a clenching pain in my ribs, and take a deep sip from my Pipe before I remove it from my mouth, spitting a smoking Curse arrow to each of the assailants. I stick the Pipe in my mouth.

I lay down and wait for the guards to come. I take breaths, letting my chest rise and fall.

10th

I sit up from a bed, finding needles and wires in me right when the doctor is pulling them out. "What are you doing here?" I whisper. "Get the soldiers out there, some Channeler group is defenseless against a squadron of hunters. Go, now!" he looks at me, adjusts his glasses, and runs down the hall and out of the room. I feel like my power is restored. I pull the rest of the needles and wires out and put my armor on instead of the ridiculous hospital gown. I walk down the hall, up the stairs, and out into the night air.

I stare down at the mess happening down below, a soft breeze ruffling my broad hat. My Snipes are missing from my shoulders, yet I feel as strong as ever. I jump off the side of the fortress structure, jumping off Sigils before landing softly on the ground. I walk over to the gathering. A hunter, frozen in my direction, shoots at me. I sidestep his ill-aimed shots, only one catching my shoulder. I walk up into his face with such a malicious stare, the gun sticking me in the stomach, that he trembles and drops his Super Blaster. I look down at it, and back at him. The rest of the Hunters can only glance in my direction. When they are alone, they are EVER so weak.

I turn and look at the Finder and another Hunter, who could try to kill me at any moment. I walk over, right in front of the Finder, and give her my coldest stare. "You." I whisper. "You are the most ridiculous of them yet. You used to have it all. You had everything. You still have, a CHOICE!" I push against her, even though I might as well push a brick wall. "You still have a choice," I mutter weakly, "you could still join that wonderful light I saw that day..." I wipe some mist from my eyes. Who. Cares. If she tries to kill me so be it! "But if you kill me," I turn my head in her direction. "If you stain your hands with my blood, anything that ever mattered to you will be forgotten. Every soft memory. It might even be salvation to you...but hurt is what drives us. Pain is what makes us alive." I turn completely now to face her, tears in my eyes as I croak. "Sadness makes our hearts beat, damn it!" I look to the Hunter beside her, and grin sadisticly.

"You know this smile? It's the smile you see in the eyes of your victims." I walk briskly over, face to face with him, grabbing the hand he is holding his weapon with, and pull the weapon so it's tip is against my stomach.

"Try it. But as long as my heart beats, I'm practically titanium." I continue my grin, and my Snipes settle on my shoulders, dropping a Swift Flourish by my feet. I pick it up and their eyes glow red.

No, son! What is this?! Why?! YOU ARE NOT ONE OF THEM!

I Found you!

A shower of poisoned spikes peppers Amarynth's armor. A few lodged themselves in her shoulder. A creature, shrouded by darkness, tackles her to the ground and swipes at her throat, missing it by a hair. Its clawed feet dig into her legs, pinning her to the ground by sheer pain alone. A lucky shot from Topoyozada knocks the creature off, but fails to harm it.

Vaelyntine screams, "RUN!!" THE FINDER IS UPON US!!"

The lights of Al'Goth are near. She hopes and prays that they make it in time before they are all slain.

-----------
I rushed through the dead forests surrounding Almire, the hoverbike made things much easier, only a fool would traverse this terrain on feet. When I got closer I could hear the guitar solo from one of Zero's favorite rock songs, the idiot was actually listening to music while going to slaughter hundreds, the guy had style I gave him that. Something caught my eye as I rushed through, 6 dead bodies, my elite recon team was mangled, horribly. Idiots had probably got scared and misinformed zero. Eh no use letting a good meal go to waste, I proceeded to drain them dry of any remaining energy they had. I continued on, but not before reporting the deaths of them to The finder, all I got was a growl saying that she was on her way to ALmire and she'd "Take care" of Zero on the way. I zoomed faster I could feel the pure amount of power emanating from the city. I grinned i'd be glowing with power before the night was through.

I woke with a start. The night was chilly, and the lights from the hall were burning brightly all of a sudden. I looked up to see an Almarian guard looking over me. "Vanaduke wants you for something." I sat up and cleared my eyes, whenever the purified king sent me on a mission this late, it was never good news. Alright tell him I'll be at the throne room in five." I put on my armor, equipped my weapons and set out. WHen I came to the throne room, I had to clear my eyes again, everything from the room was polished brightly, anything dark or fiery reminded the king of his "troubled days". I also noted some statues of some of the deities around the room, Vog was noticeably absent from them. I faced the king, "Another recon mission sir?" I asked. I was always assigned missions, not because it was required but because I wanted to. I had been taken to Almire years earlier to seek refuge from the Imperium's reign of terror over Channelers.

I rubbed my shoulder, a black scar was covered by my armor, a horrible memento of what I had escaped that fateful night. I shuddered remembering The Finder, dog to the Imperium chasing after me. I was snapped back to reality when the king said "No, we've been informed that channelers are escaping from hunters right on our borders." "Three pursue them." "The first is a concentrated mass of hatred that one's stench reeks far beyond the dead woods, the one called Zero draws near." I shuddered recalling the briefing I had on him, over a hundred kills on channelers all of them gorier then the last. the second is a jigsaw of others aura we're going to be greeted by the drainer, Syphon." I recalled the name, he had been one of the first to join the hunters ranks, I couldn't stand traitors. "The third is familiar to you, The Finder has finally been sent to destroy us." I bit my lip in disgust.

"Go now, help them we do not need anymore innocent blood spilt." Vanaduke said saddened. "Right." And like that I rushed out, "I really hope I arrive in time." I was beyond worried for them, if ANY of those three got their hands on the channelers, I put the thought aside, I wanted to have an appetite when I got back.

I looked out in dismay, shots were tearing up the surrounding tree line, it looked like someone had called in an air raid. I looked out 2 different groups of channelers were branched out. Not to mention one heck of a bright light...wait was that a person? I didn't waste a moment's notice, "MOVE HERE!" I shouted desperately. They approached, the second they reached me a girls suddenly asked me "Can we even trust you?" I cracked a smile, "Even if I was your enemy you would prefer me over them, I pointed to the incoming figures one was rushing in on foot, another was dashing through on a hover bike, and the last, was gliding in on midnight black wings, The Finder had finally arrived at Almire. "MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!" I shouted in a frenzy. "Vog help us all." I thought to myself. We sprinted to the front gates, Shots rang through the night, explosions echoed off our backs, screams of pure evil resonated behind us, it was like running through Hell. A giant explosion quaked beneath our feet. I was sent sky high along with the others. I hit the ground. hard. When I looked up the three individuals were smiling, it sent chills down my spine. I looked up horrified, some...THING was looming over, the aura it emitted was The Finder's but it was barely even speaking. I looked in terror, this was not a good night. I noticed the strangers glow had finally been snuffed out. I sighed, this wasn't good, if we could escape a few meters farther Almire's defense systems would protect us. "Tch, I don't even know why Vanaduke would send such an amateur to collect these ingrates." the hunter in the skelly armor said. The other stranger just grinned, "Looks like my kill streak will be back on after this." he said, it sent a shiver down my spine. We needed to get out, but how?

----------
I rushed through the forest, I could already hear Zero's gunshots ringing throughout the forest, he must've caught up to the group we had been pursuing earlier. I looked, then grinned, Zero had found two groups one had some channelers and a gremlin, the other had even more channelers with a stranger. I grinned Zero could have his kills, all I wanted was the pure energy from all of them. i heard a rush of wings and saw The Finder pelt the groups with a hellstorm of bullets and explosions. I grinned in satisfaction there was no way they were even stepping close to Almire's borders. I zoomed closer and got within shouting distance of Zero. "Made quick work of my men did you?" I yelled to him. "THe next time you try and assassinate me, get better hunters." he said arrogantly. I shrugged and zoomed ahead, pulling out a few graviton bombs. I let them fly, they proceeded to wreck escape paths the channelers could have used. I then proceeded to whip out my alchemer I landed a few hits on the stranger, but he seemed to shrug them off I had seen this before, Channelers could enter a state of pure adrenaline where they couldn't fell pain and pushed their normal limits, it wouldn't last long. I shot a few more rounds until THe Finder screamed wit ha monstrous yell "ENOUGH!" and like that the ground under the channelers exploded with devastating magnitude. THey crashed down second later, by then it was too late we had caught up. The Finder growled, it was such an unsettling site. I noticed an Almarian crest on one of them. "Tch I don't even know why Vanaduke sent such amateurs to collect these ingrates." "Looks like my kill streak will be on after this." Zero said with Sadistic glee. I grinned, "I'll be eating good tonight."

You got me

The young Valkyrie falls off my back as we're running, and isn't in good shape when I pick her up again. A barrier of flame blazes behind her. Impressive. The border is close, and the city lights are much clearer now. However, shots ring out, and we collectively duck in an effort to avoid them. Suddenly, a figure of light zooms past us, absorbing all the bullets. A voice calls out.
"Move here!", a Knight in a Chroma suit shouts. Iris is suspicious though.
"Can we even trust you?", she asks.
"Even if I was your enemy, you would be wise to choose me over them", he replied, smiling warmly. That doesn't stop the Finder from catching us though. She sends toxic spikes towards us, and I rush forward to block them, taking a few hits. Next thing I know, she tackles me and embeds spikes in my legs. I cry out in pain, but fortunately, Topoyazada knocks her off of me with a well-placed bullet. I get up with some difficulty, picking the young Valkyrie up again. Explosions ring out around us as we run, nearly at the gates.
"Enough!", she screams, and the ground explodes beneath us. We're sent flying, and I hit the ground hard.
The Finder grins maniacally, looking down at us.
"Looks like my kill streak will be on after this." one of the Hunters said with sadistic glee.
The other grinned, "I'll be eating good tonight." Crap.. Not good. It'll be incredibly taxing, but I decide to concentrate my power so I can freeze the Hunters above us, and tge Finder. Taking a deep breath, I expel a massive amount of frost towards them, coating them in a thin layer of ice. I pull up everyone, but by the time 10 seconds had passed, the ice had cracked, and I was having a huge head rush. I feel my body grow hot again, and I collapse, sensing someone picking me up and running. I struggle to stay awake, but eventually the poison kicks in too, and I pass out.

The Finder is in her monster form at the moment. She can barely speak intelligibly in her monster form, much less "purr." She sounds like Gollum in this form, if she attempts to speak at all.

All conversation occurs in her human form.

Hmmmmmm

Time to write once more.

I and the group race towards the lights, towards Almire, towards safety. However, a few bullets dent that hope. I look back to see Hunters and a Finder.... No, THE finder chasing us. I shudder when I think of what she would do to us if we were caught. A few more shots rang out, but a bright light absorbed it."Move!" A knight in a Chroma suit yelled. "Can we even trust you?" I didn't hear the rest of the conversation. I pulled my newly found Blaster and fired back. Just then, the Finder pounced on Amarynth. Amarynth and the Valkyrie she was holding tumbled to the floor. "NO!" I scream, and fire my blaster at the Finder. She deflectes two rounds, but gets knocked off Amarynth by the last one. The finder glares at me, and runs. She was almost upon me when a wave of fire blasts right in front of me, right into the Finder's face. She faltered. I ran towards my friends. "Run!! The Finder is upon us!!" Vaelyntine cried. "Enough!" The ground explodes, and my vision blurs. When my head cleared, I saw the Hunters and the Finder, grinning on us. One hunter says something, but I ignore him, my hand reaching for my dagger, hidden behind my shirt. I heard one say, "I'll be eating good tonight." "Not tonight you won't." I threw my knife at a Hunter, because my dagger wouldn't hurt the Finder. I threw the knife just as a sudden wall of ice encased them. My knife bounced off the edge of the ice. Damnit. I turn to see Amarynth drop to the floor, unconscious, the Valkyrie lying beside her. Everyone else was already running, oblivious to the fallen shapes. I grab the Valkyrie and sling her onto my back. I then pick Amarynth from the floor, and cradle her to my chest. Then I start running.

Finder's Blade

The Finder grabbed at Topo, spinning him around and causing him to drop Amarynth. The creature pulled out its Barbarous Thorn Blade from a sheath made out of its own skin and thrust it into his neck.

But didn't break the skin.

The black creature and Topo stared at one another breathlessly. The Finder withdrew its blade, and was rewarded with a swift kick to the gut from Vaelyntine. It returned the favor in kind; it kicked Vaelyn hard and ran away.

Why did the Finder spare Topo all of a sudden?

What the-?

The Finder grabbed at at me, making me drop Amarynth AND the Valkyrie. That woman's getting on my nerves. I thrust my elbow into her face, but missed. She grabbed my neck, and squeezed at a nerve point. Immediately, I was paralyzed from the neck down. She withdrew a Barbarous Thorn Blade from a sheath and looks suspiciously like skin. She thrusts it at my throat, and I close my eyes. A few moments pasts, and I open my eyes. The Finder had sheathed her blade, and was looking at me. I heard someone cry, "No!" and the Finder touched my forehead with her finger. I was suddenly in a dark room. Then I saw Raechal. "Raechal?" I ask. No one replies. "Raechal?" I ask once more. She looks terrified, and she looks at me. "It's alright, Raechal. It's just me." But she wasn't looking at me. She was looking at something behind me. The person passes through me like I was just an hologram. He closes in on Raechal. He grabs her skull and spine, and rips it off her body. "No...... NO!" I yell. Naturally, everything ignores me. The person places the spine and the brain into a mechanical body. It awakens, and looks towards the person. "My name is Vera. I will obey your orders, Master." As the 'Master' cackled with glee, I heard someone behind me. I twirl and see the Finder. "You see? Your sister will turn into a Finder, just like me if you don't save her." My knees buckled and the world span as she finished her sentence. I was back in reality. I shook my head. No time has passed in the real world. I look back at the Finder. She starts to put my down when Vaelyntine jumps, yells, "Karate kick!" and kicks her in the stomach. The finder stumbles, and kicks Vaelyntine in return. She nods once more to me, and ran off. I was shocked. Raechal was going to be the new Finder? I felt faint. I felt a tiny tug on my shirt. I turn, expecting Raechal, but it was Vaelyntine. She was tugging at my shirt with her left hand, her right hand clutching at her stomach. "We got to go." I nod and got to my feet. Vaelyntine walks a few steps, and falls, moaning. She clutches at her stomach. I run to her side, and gently pull her hands away. I slowly pull her shirt up, and I see the wound. The kick from the Finder has made her stomach bruised. I quickly feel her stomach with my hand. Ribs broken, and what I think is Internal Bleeding. This is bad. "Leave me. Go." She pushes me feebly. "NO. I'm not leaving anyone behind." I scoop her from the floor, and glance at the Valkyrie and Amarynth. They were gone. Probably taken by my other group members. Suprisingly, the Hunters ignored us and went for the large group. With Vaelyntine in my arms, I walk slowly to the Almirian border, my mind unable to process the fact that Raechal was the new Finder.

The Mind of She who Finds everything

As I drew my barbarous blade to slay the channeler, my mind was freed for a few precious, fleeting moments. I questioned my purpose, and could find no reason to thrust the sword into his neck.

Then words that came not from my heart were uttered from my tongue: "You see? Your sister will turn into a Finder, just like me if you don't save her." What?? No!

Then I was kicked in the gut, and I instinctively retaliated, and sent a young woman flying. The Master regained control of me, and I fled back to base. I skidded to a stop in front of a young human male. I know that man, and so does Master. The man gave me an uncomfortably cold stare, and whispered, "You." Master was unmoved, but I was scared, and shuffled backwards. He walked up to me, saying, "You are the most ridiculous of them yet. You used to have it all. You had everything. You still have; a CHOICE!!" He pushed against me, but Master stood firm. "You still have a choice," he muttered weakly. "You could still join that wonderful light I saw that day." He wiped his eyes. "But if you kill me, if you stain your hands with my blood, anything that ever mattered to you will be forgotten. Every soft memory. It might even be your salvation. But pain is what drives us. Pain is what makes us alive." Don't make me kill him Master, I beg you!

"Sadness makes our hearts beat, darn it!" the man said, looking at my fellow Hunter. He gave us a very creepy grin. "You know this smile? It's the smile you see reflected in the eyes of your victims." I...recognize it. He walks up to the hunter, gets in his face, and pulls the hunter's own blade to his stomach. "Try it. But as long as my heart beats, I'm practically titanium."

Master is intrigued, and causes us to retreat. With what little willpower I can summon, Equinox hears inside his mind:

Find me in the Forest by the red stream tomorrow at midnight.

@Liminori

Yup. I didn't graveyard it because I was (vainly) hoping to complete it someday.

It wasn't designed properly, though. A proper implementation of this game would have had deadly consequences for PC failure.
